Abstract

Background : One of the frequent post-operative complications is pain, which is experienced by more than 80% of patients and 75% of them experience post-operative pain of moderate to severe intensity. Major abdominal surgery is a surgical procedure with moderate to severe postoperative pain intensity. Analgesic approach strategies that are often used are intravenous opioids and epidural analgesia. Epidural analgesia is considered the analgesic therapy of choice for post-major abdominal surgery, but at a higher cost when compared with intravenous opioids. The differences in route of administration, efficacy and side effect profiles make it important to assess the cost effectiveness between the two approaches as part of hospital quality control and cost management.Objective : To determine the cost effectiveness of epidural analgesia compared with intravenous opioids as analgetic after major abdominal surgery.Method : This study used a descriptive analytical design with decision tree analysis to assess clinical outcomes and estimated costs for two alternative therapies. Research samples were taken retrospectively from September – December 2022 at RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta, using simple random sampling. The Incremental Cost Effectiveness Ratio (ICER) value was assessed and Probabilistic Sensitivity Analysis (PSA) was carried out with Monte Carlo simulation using Microsoft Excel®.Results : Epidural analgesia as anti-pain after major abdominal surgery has an Incremental Cost Effectiveness Ratio (ICER) value of IDR 20,857,416/pain free days. Probabilistic Sensitivity Analysis (PSA) produces data distribution with dominance in quadrant 3 of the CEA Plane. Conclusion : The epidural analgesia strategy for pain relief after major abdominal surgery is a cheaper strategy but with slightly lower effectiveness than intravenous opioids at RSUP Dr. Sardjito. Epidural analgesia has an ICER value of IDR 20,857,416/pain free days, has the opportunity to be an alternative choice for post-major abdominal analgetic management that is cost effective.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of clinical supervision as a means to enhance teaching quality. Utilizing a qualitative approach and a case study design, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis involving teachers who had experienced clinical supervision, supervisors, and the school principal. The data analysis employed qualitative methods, including open, axial, and selective coding, to identify key themes related to the role of clinical supervision in teacher professional development. The findings reveal that clinical supervision significantly improves teaching quality, particularly in lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation. Teachers reported notable enhancements in their teaching strategies and classroom management following feedback from supervisors. However, the study also uncovered challenges such as time constraints and a lack of sufficient training for supervisors. Despite these challenges, teachers generally held positive perceptions of clinical supervision, recognizing it as an essential tool for their professional growth. In conclusion, this study affirms that clinical supervision is an effective approach to enhancing teaching quality. The study provides recommendations for improving supervisor training and optimizing supervision time to maximize the benefits of the clinical supervision process.

Abstract

This study aims to optimize the implementation of clinical supervision to improve teachers' pedagogical competence, particularly in the planning, implementing, and evaluating the learning process. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis conducted at MAN Insan Cendekia Paser, East Kalimantan. The study found that optimizing clinical supervision through direct guidance, comprehensive evaluation, and constructive feedback significantly improves teachers' pedagogical competence. Teachers improved their ability to design learning that meets students' needs and manage classrooms effectively. The optimization of clinical supervision has been proven to enhance teachers' pedagogical competence at MAN Insan Cendekia Paser. These findings have important implications for professional development in other educational settings, particularly in improving the quality of teaching and learning. AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan pelaksanaan supervisi klinis dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru, khususnya dalam perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen yang dilakukan di MAN Insan Cendekia Paser Kalimantan Timur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa optimalisasi supervisi klinis melalui bimbingan langsung, evaluasi menyeluruh, serta umpan balik konstruktif dapat meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru secara signifikan. Para guru menunjukkan peningkatan dalam kemampuan merancang pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa dan keterampilan dalam mengelola kelas secara efektif. Kesimpulan: Optimalisasi supervisi klinis terbukti mampu meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru di MAN Insan Cendekia Paser. Temuan ini memberikan implikasi penting bagi pengembangan profesional guru di lingkungan pendidikan lainnya, khususnya dalam hal peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

Clinical supervision serves as a powerful coaching method to enhance teacher professionalism by providing intensive guidance and direct, actionable feedback from supervisors. This study specifically examines the implementation of clinical supervision at Madrasah and assesses its influence on improving teachers’ professional competencies. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data was gathered through structured observations and in-depth interviews with participating teachers and supervisors. Findings reveal that structured and consistent clinical supervision significantly bolsters teachers' understanding of effective teaching methods, enriches their instructional skills, and elevates overall classroom quality. Additionally, the direct interaction between supervisors and teachers allows for constructive feedback that is instrumental in helping teachers identify both their strengths and areas for development, fostering a reflective practice. Support from supervisors further motivates teachers to continually enhance their competencies in alignment with evolving educational demands. This study highlights that clinical supervision is not only an evaluation tool but also a developmental framework that positively impacts teacher professionalism at Madrasah Aliyah, aligning their practices with both academic and religious education standards.

Abstract

This study discusses the optimization of student potential through the role of student management. The study was conducted at Ma'arif 1 Vocational High School, Kebumen. The research approach used was qualitative research. The informants of this study included the vice principal for student affairs, extracurricular teachers, and students. Research data were obtained from in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. Triangulation of methods and sources was used in this study. Data were analyzed by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data, and verifying/drawing conclusions. The research findings indicate that student management has been attempted to optimize student potential through several stages, namely the acceptance of new students, the majority of whom are through the regular route, the orientation process for new students to introduce students to the school environment, student attendance as additional value for students during learning, grouping students according to student interests, fostering student discipline to get used to positive activities in everyday life, developing potential through mandatory and elective extracurricular activities, majoring according to student choices at the beginning of school/beginning of the semester, and the student graduation process which is marked by more than 50% of students having worked according to their expertise. This study concludes that optimizing student potential can be achieved through appropriate and sustainable student management.

Abstract

Loose parts are materials that can be moved, combined, separated, and reassembled in various ways. Loose parts can be natural or synthetic materials that are used creatively and flexibly to support learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using loose parts media in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at SD Mutiara Ibu Purworejo. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation and documentation during PAI learning activities. The results of the study indicate that the use of loose parts media can increase creativity, active participation, and students' understanding of PAI materials. With this media, students are more enthusiastic in learning PAI without feeling bored. In addition, there are challenges faced by teachers, namely in terms of selecting materials that are in accordance with the material and managing learning activities. However, with good planning, loose parts media can finally become an effective innovation to improve the quality of PAI learning at SD Mutiara Ibu.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of the school principal as a manager in the implementation of School-Based Data Planning at SD Negeri 2 Pamotan, Rembang Regency. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study involved in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation to collect data from the principal, teachers, and relevant school documents. The findings reveal that the principal plays a central role in all managerial functions—planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring—related to PBD. The principal leads the IRB cycle (Identify, Reflect, Improve) by utilizing the Education Report data as a foundation for policy-making and school program development. Despite limitations in human resources and data literacy, the principal has fostered collaboration and reflective practices among teachers to enhance educational quality. The study highlights the importance of data-driven leadership in realizing effective school planning. The implementation of PBD has positively impacted literacy and instructional quality, demonstrating that strong principal leadership is key to achieving sustainable improvements in education

Abstract

This study aims to describe the form of learning support provided at the Nurul Hikmah Islamic Boarding School (Madrasah Diniyah Ta'limiyah Nurul Hikmah) in Sahang Village, Ngebel District, Ponorogo, and analyze its impact on children's religious understanding. The main problems faced by this Islamic boarding school are limited teaching staff, the dominance of lecture methods, and children's low understanding of religious material. The study used a qualitative method with an Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach that focuses on optimizing local potential. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, & Saldaña. The results show that support provided through a variety of active learning methods, the use of simple media, and collaboration with community leaders and parents. This approach resulted in improved Quranic reading skills, basic understanding of Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh), and children's worship practices. Furthermore, the children demonstrated higher learning motivation, improved religious attitudes, and courage in active participation. This study concludes that the local potential-based mentoring model has proven effective in increasing religious understanding while strengthening the role of Madrasah Diniyah as a center for non-formal religious education in rural areas.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of clinical supervision in enhancing teaching quality and teacher professionalism in secondary religious schools. Clinical supervision is viewed as a collaborative and reflective approach that offers teachers an opportunity to develop pedagogical competencies through structured guidance and constructive feedback. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research involved direct observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis of supervision activities within the school. Findings indicate that clinical supervision not only improves teaching skills but also encourages teachers to be more reflective in their practice, fostering a dynamic and adaptive learning environment. The collaborative nature of this supervision allows teachers to receive constructive and solution-oriented feedback, driving innovation in teaching methods and building confidence. Additionally, challenges such as limited time and resources were identified, which can be mitigated through strategic planning and enhanced management support. This study concludes that clinical supervision is an effective tool for improving teaching quality and teacher professionalism, with broader applicability in strengthening teaching practices across diverse educational contexts. These findings are expected to underpin educational policy development that emphasises continuous support and professional development for teachers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tantangan dan strategi penerapan Sistem Informasi Manajemen (SIM) di MTs Darul Ihsan Samarinda. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi terhadap kepala madrasah, guru, serta staf tata usaha. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan SIM di MTs Darul Ihsan Samarinda telah memberikan dampak positif terhadap efisiensi administrasi dan pengelolaan data madrasah, namun masih menghadapi beberapa kendala utama. Tantangan yang muncul meliputi keterbatasan kemampuan sumber daya manusia dalam mengoperasikan sistem, belum optimalnya infrastruktur teknologi, kurangnya integrasi data antarbidang, serta resistensi sebagian guru terhadap perubahan sistem digital. Untuk mengatasi hambatan tersebut, madrasah menerapkan beberapa strategi, antara lain peningkatan kapasitas SDM melalui pelatihan berkelanjutan, penguatan infrastruktur teknologi, penyusunan standar operasional prosedur (SOP), serta pendekatan motivasional untuk menumbuhkan budaya kerja digital. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keberhasilan penerapan SIM sangat dipengaruhi oleh kesiapan SDM, dukungan pimpinan, dan kebijakan kelembagaan yang konsisten. Hasil studi ini diharapkan dapat menjadi rujukan bagi madrasah lain dalam mengembangkan sistem informasi manajemen yang efektif dan terintegrasi.
