Abstract

Background: Stunting is inadequacy in physical growth. Stunting can be detrimental to children under five as it causes low intelligence, decreased endurance, and inhibited growth and development. This will increase risk of infections and non-communicable diseases in adulthood. The optimal implementation of family roles supports the improvement of nutritional status in toddlers so it can reduce the incidence of stunting.Method: This systematic review is written in accordance to the PRISMA guidelines. The process includes analysis on online articles from databases of ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Google Scholar for the past five years the period from 2019 with the keywords "stunting and parents or family".Results: There are researches from eight articles related to the role and support of families in preventing stunting. Based on several syntheses reviewed, it was determined that culture can be an inhibiting factor in preventing stunting. Still, with local wisdom, it can also be a catalyst in reducing stunting itself. Culture is one of the specific nutrition interventions that can reduce the prevalence of stunting by emphasizing aspects of a mother as the “center of life”, family roles and support, and the role of fathers in preventing stunting. Families have an important role to play in preventing and managing the problem of stunting. Families play an important role in preventing stunting at every stage of life from fetus in the womb, to newborn, toddler, teenager, married, pregnant, and so on. Therefore, efforts to empower families are necessary.

Abstract

Waste is one of factors causing air pollution in Palembang City. Volume of waste that should be processed increases every day, while condition of waste management service is still 70% of the total volume. The waste processing is managed by using open dumping system, which affects on the increase of air pollution. One of gases that exist as effect of the process of organic compound decomposition of anaerobic bacteria from garbage is sulfide hydrogen (H2S) pollutant which can promote health disorders, especially respiratory system. This study aimed to analyze correlation between characteristics (age, sex, nutritional status, smoking, and living distance) and the risk quotient of sulfide hydrogen concentration in air ambient to the lung capacity of people around landfill area. This study used cross-sectional design with the sample of 78 people around landfill area. Data analysis used double logistic regression. Results showed that nutritional status (p value = 0.022, OR = 12.085) and RQ (p value = 0.016; OR = 7.547) significantly related to lung vital capacity of people around landfill area. People around landfill area having worse nutrition and lower RQ than the median were potential to have lung vital capacity disorder. The dominant variable significantly influencing to lung vital capacity of people living around Sukawinatan Landfill is nutritional status.

Abstract

Pesticide poisoning, especially paraquat, is a significant health problem for agricultural workers, including sugarcane plantation workers in Indonesia. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between pesticide use and hemoglobin levels. This study is a descriptive study to find the correlation between paraquat pesticide exposure and hemoglobin levels. Quota sampling technique was used to collect 51 samples. Data were collected through interviews, observation of the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and measurement of hemoglobin levels by laboratory methods on 51 workers exposed to paraquat pesticide. The Chi-Square test was used to analyze the relationship between the use of PPE and the level of pesticide poisoning as measured by hemoglobin levels. The results showed that incomplete use of PPE was associated with a decrease in workers' hemoglobin levels. As many as 40% of workers who did not use PPE experienced a significant decrease in hemoglobin levels compared to workers who used complete PPE. The calculated Chi-Square value is 6.45 with a p value = 0.011 (p < 0.05) which indicates a significant relationship between the use of PPE and hemoglobin levels in sugarcane plantation workers. Based on these results, it can be concluded that proper use of PPE can reduce the risk of pesticide poisoning and maintain hemoglobin levels at normal levels.

Abstract

Dengue hemorrhagic fever is a major global problem because 2.5 to 3 billion people are at risk of developing this disease. Aedes Aegypti is the primary epidemic vector, an illness that usually affects urban areas but is starting to affect rural areas, estimated at around 50-100 million cases yearly. Dengue fever is transmitted through the bite of a female Aedes aegypti / Aedes albopictus, which carries the virus from other dengue fever sufferers. Therefore, dengue fever often causes death for sufferers. Given the danger of dengue fever, there needs to be a comprehensive eradication effort. The government has issued a Mosquito Nest Eradication policy (PSN 3M-Plus) to tackle dengue fever. This is the primary way considered effective, efficient, and economical to eradicate the vector of Dengue Dengue disease transmission, considering that drugs and vaccines that kill the dengue virus have not been found. Research method with a cross-sectional design, a sample of 100 households that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria in the work area of the Kenten Laut Health Center. Data analysis with chi-square. The results of the study obtained There is a relationship between education (0.03), knowledge (0.041), and the implementation of the One House 1 Jumantik movement at the Kenten Laut Health Center. The puskesmas is advised to develop the One House 1 Jumantik movement so that the community is more responsible with their respective homes and can assist the Jumantik coordinator in implementing PJB.

Abstract

Since 2021, Pertamina has implemented the SeBuSe (Healthy, Fit, and Happy) program as a corporate health and wellness initiative that operationalizes Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) standards. The novelty of this study lies in its strategic integration of the HSSE perspective in evaluating an employee wellness program, its comprehensive application of the SWOT framework for organizational analysis, and its inclusion of participant spouses to capture broader behavioral and motivational dynamics. The program emphasizes holistic well-being through structured activities such as Fat Loss and Move More, designed to support sustained lifestyle improvements. Based on these considerations, this study aims to identify and analyze internal and external factors influencing SeBuSe's effectiveness in improving employee health outcomes using the SWOT analytical approach. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving 30 participants and complemented by in-depth interviews with two program managers and four participant spouses to ensure a multi-perspective understanding of program implementation. The SWOT analysis positions SeBuSe in Quadrant I (Aggressive/Growth Strategy), supported by an internal factor score of 3.10 and an external factor score of 3.46, indicating strong institutional capacity and significant opportunities for further development. Overall, the findings generate strategic insights that can strengthen health promotion efforts and reinforce a proactive safety and wellness culture within Pertamina’s industrial environment. Keywords: Health; Improvement; Productivity; Strategy; SeBuSe; Work.
