Abstract

In this digital era, artificial intelligence (AI) technology plays a crucial role in driving innovation in the education sector. This article discusses efforts to address challenges in understanding and practical skills among educators regarding the implementation of AI in learning. The focus is on training conducted at SMP Negeri 2 Kahu, which faces challenges in using AI to enhance the quality of learning media. The training begins with a basic understanding of AI, involving definitions, fundamental concepts, recent developments, and ethical aspects of AI usage. The final session of the training emphasizes the utilization of AI in developing interactive and adaptive learning media, particularly using Chat GPT. Participants engage in practical demonstrations and collaborative discussions to design the integration of this technology into the learning process. Post-training evaluations indicate an improvement in participants' understanding, although challenges in technology access need to be addressed. This training is expected to stimulate innovation, create an adaptive educational ecosystem, and provide a relevant and adaptive learning experience for students in the digital era.

Abstract

Percepatan transformasi digital di perguruan tinggi menuntut kesiapan infrastruktur dan ketersediaan materi pembelajaran yang relevan untuk mendukung proses belajar berbasis teknologi. Namun, berbagai laporan menunjukkan masih adanya kesenjangan akses teknologi dan materi digital yang memadai, sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya keterlibatan dan kepercayaan diri mahasiswa dalam mengikuti pelatihan online, termasuk pelatihan analisis data menggunakan software SmartPLS. Kondisi ini menegaskan perlunya kajian empiris mengenai peran Availability of Learning Materials (ALM) dan Accessibility and Connectivity (AC) terhadap tingkat Participant Engagement (PE) dengan Confidence (C) sebagai variabel psikologis yang berpengaruh. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-experimental dengan desain One-Shot Case Study (X → O), di mana 62 mahasiswa menerima perlakuan berupa pelatihan SmartPLS dan kemudian mengisi kuesioner posttest. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa ALM berada pada kategori sangat baik, AC berada pada kategori baik, C meningkat meskipun belum optimal, dan PE berada pada kategori baik. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kualitas materi serta akses teknologi yang memadai berperan penting dalam membangun self-efficacy mahasiswa dan meningkatkan keterlibatan peserta pada pelatihan daring. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi praktis bagi pengembangan pelatihan teknis berbasis teknologi, terutama pentingnya menyediakan materi komprehensif, memastikan dukungan konektivitas, serta menambah sesi praktik mandiri guna meningkatkan efektivitas pelatihan di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into higher education, yet comparative studies of how doctoral students and professors view AI in mathematics education remain scarce, particularly in Indonesia. This study explores the perspectives of both groups through a qualitative design involving focus group discussions and semi-structured interviews with eight doctoral students and two mathematics education professors at several public universities. Data were analysed through condensation, presentation, and verification, with triangulation and member-checking ensuring credibility. Five interpretative patterns emerged: (1) heterogeneous AI adoption among doctoral students, ranging from extensive to restrictive-reflective; (2) shared epistemological grounding that AI functions as a tool rather than a substitute for conceptual mastery; (3) a proposal for differential course regulation, distinguishing a 'no AI' category for conceptual courses from a 'maximum AI' category for technology-based courses; (4) asymmetric control strategies that can be bridged through a disclosure-and-verification paradigm; and (5) complementary ethical concerns across roles. Participants also showed limited awareness of AI's potential as conversational, pedagogical, and teachable agents. While the small sample limits generalisability, these findings offer preliminary insights into how AI use is negotiated within supervisor–student relationships and suggest directions for further inquiry into AI adoption in Indonesian doctoral programmes in mathematics education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the results of a systematic literature review (SLR) concerning the integration of ethnomathematics-based Augmented Reality (AR) in geometry learning, particularly focusing on cube and cuboid concepts. This approach reviews the effectiveness of combining local cultural contexts with digital technology to enhance students’ conceptual understanding of mathematics. Literature was collected using the Publish or Perish tool from Scopus and Sinta databases and evaluated following the PRISMA guidelines to ensure relevance and eligibility. From 200 identified articles, 20 studies met the inclusion criteria and were further analyzed. The findings reveal that AR significantly improves students’ spatial visualization, understanding of volume and surface area, and learning motivation. Meanwhile, ethnomathematics serves as a contextual medium linking mathematical concepts to local culture, making learning more meaningful and character-building. The integration of both approaches fosters interactive, contextual, and culturally relevant learning while introducing the concept of symmetry groups through cultural exploration and digital visualization. The study recommends the development of an AR-ethnomathematics-based learning model that explicitly integrates symmetry group concepts to deepen students’ geometric understanding and strengthen cultural values in mathematics education

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi dan minat mahasiswa program studi pendidikan Matematika Universitas Negeri Makassar terhadap keikutsertaannya dalam program Kampus Mengajar. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus terhadap 69 subjek penelitian, terdiri mahasiswa angkatan 5, 6, dan 7 program Kampus Mengajar. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu dengan menggunakan angket terhadap seluruh subjek dan 6 informan melalui wawancara mendalam yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Selanjutnya pengecekan keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Seluruh hasil angket dan wawancara kemudian dianalisis dengan melalui 4 tahapan yaitu mengumpulkan data, mereduksi data, menyajikan data dan menarik kesimpulan. Hasil analisis yang pertama adalah terdapat 6 motivasi mahasiswa mengikuti program Kampus Mengajar. i) adanya konversi maksimal 20 SKS, ii) pengembangan diri, iii) adanya Bantuan Biaya Hidup (BBH) dan pengurangan Uang Kuliah Tunggal (UKT), iv) kontribusi sosial, v) persiapan masa depan, vi) memperoleh penghargaan berupa sertifikat dari Kemendikbudristek. Selanjutnya yang kedua minat mahasiswa dalam mengikuti program Kampus Mengajar terbagi menjadi 3 dimensi, i) dimensi kognitif, mahasiswa memiliki pemahaman yang cukup tentang program. ii) dimensi emosional, mahasiswa menunjukkan respon positif dan antusias terhadap program, dengan ketertarikan pada manfaat pengalaman baru dan kontribusi sosial. iii) dimensi konatif, mahasiswa menunjukkan komitmen yang tinggi untuk berpartisipasi aktif dan merekomendasikan program. Secara keseluruhan, minat mahasiswa didorong oleh pemahaman tentang manfaat praktis, antusiasme emosional, dan komitmen untuk terlibat aktif dalam program. Kata Kunci: Motivasi, Minat, Program Kampus Mengajar.
