Abstract

Language is an important communication system, and English serves as an international language and a requirement for studying abroad. However, students in Islamic boarding schools often lack time to learn English. To address this, SMAS NW Ulil Albab Gegek initiated a TOEFL training program for twelfth-grade students from August to October 2023. This program involved three main skills: reading, writing, and listening, with sessions held three times a week without disrupting the students' regular schedules. The preparation stage included planning materials, scheduling, and initial observations, followed by student registration with parental consent. The implementation used the school's laboratory, with pre-test and post-test evaluations to measure progress. Results showed an increase in students' TOEFL scores from an average of 383 (pre-test) to 421 (post-test), reflecting a 5% improvement. Although the score increase was modest, it demonstrated the training's effectiveness in enhancing students' understanding and test-taking strategies. This program not only prepared students for higher education and scholarship opportunities but also improved their overall English proficiency. The initiative by SMAS NW Ulil Albab Gegek provides a model for integrating intensive TOEFL training into the school curriculum, especially in remote areas, thus enhancing students' academic and professional prospects

This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative design. The sample consisted of 152 housewives selected through simple random sampling from a population of 244 individuals. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using classical assumption tests and multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The findings reveal that income has a positive and significant effect on household financial management, indicated by a t-value of 4.274 > 1.976 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Meanwhile, financial literacy does not have a significant effect, as shown by a t-value of 1.360 < 1.976 and a significance value of 0.176 > 0.05. Similarly, expenditure control does not significantly influence financial management, with a t-value of 1.646 < 1.976 and a significance value of 0.102 > 0.05. However, simultaneously, financial literacy, income, and expenditure control significantly affect household financial management, as indicated by an F-value of 18.589 > 2.67 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings confirm that income is the dominant factor determining the effectiveness of household financial management, while financial literacy and expenditure control need to be strengthened to contribute more substantially to household financial management practices among housewives.

Abstract

This study, titled Strategic Business Forecasting and Market Trends Analysis Using Machine Learning Techniques, explores how artificial intelligence (AI) particularly machine learning (ML) can enhance the accuracy and strategic impact of business forecasting in dynamic markets. Traditional statistical forecasting methods often fail to accommodate complex, nonlinear, and high-dimensional data. To address this gap, the research develops and validates a machine learning–based forecasting model designed to integrate predictive analytics into strategic decision-making. The study adopts a quantitative approach and employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 3 to examine the interrelationships among four latent variables: Market Trends (MT), Forecasting Accuracy (FA), Strategic Planning Efficiency (SPE), and Business Performance (BP). Each construct is measured using three indicators, forming a structural model that tests six hypothesized relationships. The results indicate that understanding market trends significantly improves forecasting accuracy and strategic planning efficiency, which in turn positively influences business performance. Furthermore, forecasting accuracy directly enhances both planning efficiency and overall performance, emphasizing the strategic value of data-driven insights. The findings validate the reliability and predictive power of the proposed model, offering a robust framework for organizations aiming to leverage machine learning in strategic forecasting. By bridging the gap between algorithmic prediction and managerial application, this study contributes to the growing field of AI-driven business analytics and supports the development of more agile, informed, and resilient business strategies in a data-centric economy.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of a school-based counseling intervention, the Youth Information and Counseling Center (Pusat Informasi dan Konseling Remaja, PIK-R), in reducing risk behaviors among early adolescents in Indonesia. A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group was applied to sixth-grade primary school students aged 11-12 years. The experimental group received a six- to eight-week PIK-R intervention consisting of peer education, guided counseling, role-playing, group discussion, and case-based learning, while the control group continued regular school activities. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive statistics, paired-samples t-tests, independent-samples t-tests, and effect-size estimation. The findings indicate that students who participated in the PIK-R intervention showed a statistically significant decrease in risk behavior scores compared with students in the control group. The intervention also produced a large practical effect (Cohen's d = 0.85), suggesting that PIK-R can serve as an effective preventive strategy in primary education. This study contributes to the literature by extending evidence on counseling-based risk behavior prevention to early adolescents and by providing context-specific insights from Indonesian schools.
