Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of sepak sila skills through the drill method in sepak takraw learning in junior high school students. This study uses an approach based on classroom action research. The sample in this study was students of Class VIII of Public Middle School Satu Atap Iwur Pegunungan Bintang, with a sample used of 32 students. The sampling technique used was total sampling. Qualitative data analysis used qualitative descriptive techniques to interpret the results of observations about the learning process. The results showed that in the first cycle of learning Sepak Takraw Sepak Sila using the drill method, the passing rate for all students was 66.67%. In the affective aspect, student motivation to participate in learning still needs to be improved, especially in the early meetings. Discipline and accuracy in performing sepak sila using the drill method still need improvement. While the average completeness value of all students was 93.75% in cycle II, only 7.34% of students had not achieved completeness. However, the learning process encountered several obstacles. In the cognitive aspect, students still have difficulty in working on questions and lack focus when working on assignments, which causes the final grade to be less than optimal. It can be concluded that there is an increase in sepak sila skills by using the drill method in sepak takraw learning among class VIII students of Public Middle School.

The results indicated that there was a weak positive effect between arm muscle strength and long serve. This effect was not statistically significant because the significance value (0.566) was much greater than 0.05. There was a weak positive effect between eye-hand coordination and long serve. This effect was not statistically significant because the significance value (0.423) was greater than 0.05. There was a weak negative effect between concentration and long service. The effect is not statistically significant because the significance value (0.212) is greater than 0.05. Additionally, there is no significant effect of both variables on long service. Both variables have a significance value > 0.05. Concentration has a negative effect (-0.417). Hand-eye coordination has a weak positive effect (0.152). The conclusion is that there is a weak positive effect between arm muscle strength, hand-eye coordination, and badminton long service. There is a weak negative effect of concentration on badminton long service performance. Next, there is no significant effect of arm muscle strength or hand-eye coordination through concentration on the badminton long service ability of Elementary School extracurricular participants.

Abstract

This study looks to find out how using social-emotional tools affects learning in physical education, sports, and health for students at elementary school, using a digital technology-based learning model. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The research design used is a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest design model. The research sample was 23 fifth-grade students at Public Elementary School Bawakaraeng I, selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments consisted of a physical education outcome test, an observation sheet for the application of social-emotional learning, and a student response questionnaire. The data analysis technique used descriptive and inferential statistics in the form of a paired sample t-test with a significance level of 5%, which was preceded by an analysis prerequisite test. The results indicated that there was a significant effect of the application of social-emotional learning on physical education learning outcomes using a digital technology-based learning model. Our finding is evidenced by the t-observation value of 14.945, which is greater than the t-table value of 1.717 (14.945 > 1.717) with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Comparison of the average pretest and posttest values showed an increase from 86.39 to 92.96, with a difference of 6.565 points. The application of social-emotional learning with a digital technology-based learning model has proven effective in improving students' physical education learning outcomes.
