Abstract

This study was aimed to develop a method for metal analysis in continuous integration using voltammetry techniques. The research subject was copper(II) ions. The objects of research were linearity, scan rate, repeatability of readings, and the presence of Cu(II) levels in well water samples. In this study, a selective electrode was developed with a solid membrane voltammetry system using differential pulse voltammetry measurement. The results showed the regression line of voltammetry method, y = 10.265 ln (x) + 330.47, with a correlation value of 0.9654, the optimum scan rate was 10 mV/s, and within five repetitions of each measurement for one electrode, it showed good repeatability. Meanwhile, the result of regression with the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method for Cu(II) was y = 0.12386x + 0.00879 with a correlation value of 0.9943. The voltammetry method was found to be much better than the UV-Vis method because it was able to be used for analysis up to a concentration of 6.35 × 10–4 ppm (or 1.00 × 10–11 M), while the UV-Vis method was only able to analyze up to 1.5 ppm (or 2.36 × 10–5 M).

Abstract

Humic acid is a heterogeneous organic compound that is toxic, mutagenic and carcinogenic. This study goals to degrade humic acid using the photocatalytic method. The photocatalyst used for degradation is nano ZnO doped Cu 7%. The degradation process applies sunlight using a hexagonal mobile reactor and the light intensity is measured using a lightmeter. The degradation was carried out with variation of stirring at 500 rpm and without stirring at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 hours of irradiation. Result of degradation analysed using UV-Vis spectrophotometer. Result obtained the degradation using stirring has a higher percentage of degradation than without stirring. The percentage maximum of degradation obtained in study was 90,09% with 500 rpm stirring at 5 hours irradiation. In this study showed the effect of stirring on humic acid degradation using a hexagonal mobile reactor.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of variations Na2SO4 concentration in producing hydrogen gas using the MQ-8 sensor. The method used is electrolysis. The electrolysis process is carried out in a container called a dry cell generator. In this study the Cu and Al electrodes are used as a place for the reduction-oxidation reaction. The use of Cu / Al electrodes in dry cell generators is arranged using layered or sandwich techniques. The use of dry cell generator in the production of hydrogen gas by using the MQ-8 sensor as a measuring tool to calculate the concentration of H2 gas is able to produce a maximum concentration of hydrogen gas of 37 ppm.

Abstract

Keyword : Elektrolisis, Cu-Al, Elektrolit, Arus, Tegangan

Abstract

Solar cell (photovoltaic cell) is a device that has ability to convert sunlight energy into electrical energy by applying the photovoltaic principle. The photovoltaic principle is defined as a phenomenon of the appearance of an electric voltage due to the contact of two electrodes connected to a solid or liquid system when exposed to solar light. This study aims to determine the maximum power generated from the photoreactor, determine the effect of concentration variations and determine the efficiency of the photoreactor. The method in this study is an experiment using the photovoltaic effect on a photoreactor with CuO / Al electrodes and electrolytes of sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide. The variables in this study were measurement time and concentration. The variations in the concentration of sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide, and aluminum hydroxide electrolytes used were 0.25 M; 0.5 M; 0.75 M; and 1M. Current and voltage measurements are carried out 3 hours a day for 5 measurement days. The results showed that the optimum concentration was at a concentration of 0.75 M. The maximum power obtained was 0.0184 mWatt in NaCl solution, 0.072 mWatt in Na2SO4 solution and 0.224 mWatt in Al(OH)3 solution, the ability of the electrodes to produce electricity per area of each NaCl 0.00688mWatt / m2, Na2SO4 0.00263 mWatt / m2, Al(OH)3 0.00486 mWatt / m2 with the electrode cross-sectional area used is 0.0183m2. As well as the maximum efficiency of NaCl, Na2SO4, Al(OH)3 obtained is 0.8339%, 0.318% and 0.5890%. From the research results obtained: The greater the concentration of binary, ternary and quaternary solutions, the greater the power produced.

Abstract

Mesoporous silica is a silica solid with pores between 2-50 nm which can be used in the fields of adsorption, medicine, catalyst synthesis, material purification and stationary phase for chromatography. Mesoporous silica is generally synthesized using TEOS or TMOS, but these precursors are relatively expensive. Na2SiO3 is a precursor of mesoporous silica which is more economical and easy to obtain. Basic materials that contain a lot of silica such as chert can be synthesized into Na2SiO3. Mesoporous silica synthesis generally uses surfactants as templates for the polymerization of silica, therefore a cosolvent is needed that can act as a crystal size enlarger by interacting with surfactants. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the addition of hexane on the synthesis of mesoporous silica symbolized by SM and SMH5. Mesoporous silica was synthesized using the sol-gel method with the basic ingredients of Na2SiO3 from chert, P104 as a surfactant, HCl as a solvent and n-hexane as an additive to increase crystal size. Mesoporous silica was characterized using XRD. The results of measurements using XRD showed that the X-ray difragtogram pattern showed peaks at an angle of 2ϴ = 22.29o and 25.33o for SM and SMH5 products, respectively.
