Abstract

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has affected significant aspects of our society. In addition to degrading the economic system and human health throughout the world, it disrupts educational activities running in general. With the government's policy of having to stay home, education is diversion through online learning. Online learning is applied to school institutions throughout Indonesia, both in the village and in the city. Network access and facilities in urban areas are better than in rural areas. This research is essential to be conducted as input to equalize online learning support facilities in the ponorogo area of east Java. The method in this study uses qualitative with library studies and at the same time research in the field. Data retrieval using interview and journal analysis techniques after related books. The results of the study suggest that online learning conducted in the city tends to be more effective because of the ease of easy-to-diakse facilities and the full support of parents. Meanwhile, in the village online learning is less effective due to the lack of adequate facilities and lack of support from parents.Analisis Potret Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini di Kota dan Desa: Era Pandemi COVID-19Abstrak: Pandemi COVID-19 telah mempengaruhi aspek-aspek penting dari masyarakat kita. Selain merusak sistem ekonomi dan kesehatan manusia di seluruh dunia, mengganggu kegiatan pendidikan yang berjalan secara umum. Dengan adanya kebijakan pemerintah untuk tetap di rumah, pendidikan menjadi pengalihan melalui pembelajaran online. Pembelajaran online diterapkan pada institusi sekolah di seluruh Indonesia, baik di desa maupun di kota. Akses jaringan dan fasilitas di perkotaan lebih baik daripada di pedesaan. Penelitian ini penting dilakukan sebagai masukan untuk pemerataan fasilitas penunjang pembelajaran online di wilayah ponorogo Jawa Timur. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif dengan studi kepustakaan dan sekaligus penelitian di lapangan. Pengambilan data menggunakan teknik wawancara dan analisis jurnal setelah buku terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran online yang dilakukan di kota cenderung lebih efektif karena kemudahan fasilitas yang mudah diakse dan dukungan penuh dari orang tua. Sedangkan di desa pembelajaran online kurang efektif karena fasilitas yang kurang memadai dan kurangnya dukungan dari orang tua.

Abstract

Critical thinking is an essential aspect of the 21st century. There was an outbreak of pandemic covid-19; some educators had difficulty stimulating critical thinking in early childhood. But for some teachers used spice ingredients at home to promote the critical thinking of children. Therefore, this research aimed to provide critical thinking learning solutions during the covid 19 pandemics. This study used a qualitative descriptive method to describe the use of spices in stimulating essential thinking. The data collection technique using interviews, observations and documentation by involving children aged 5-6 years (n= 15). Data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing were analyzed by testing data validity using triangulation techniques.  This study showed that using spice media in making turmeric herbs acid, making batik from natural dyes, and making dolls through a scientific approach can stimulate critical thinking ability in children in the study from home. So, can be concluded that using spice media stimulate critical thinking ability in children in the study from home.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui manajemen desain lingkungan dalam meningkatkan kreativitas pendidik PAUD di TK Thoyyibah Bandar Lampung. Dengan mengelola desain lingkungan yang kreatif berdasarkan jenjang pendidikan, di TK Thoyyibah pendidik menerapkan salah satu kreativitas yang dapat dikembangkan yaitu kreativitas decoupage. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi deskriptif. Subjek yang ada pada penelitian ini yaitu pendidik, kepala sekolah dan ketua yayasan dari TK Thoyyibah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian di TK Thoyyibah, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendidik di TK Thoyyibah telah menerapkan kreativitas decoupage sebagai bentuk kreativitas yang dapat menjadikan pendidik anak usia dini lebih kreatif untuk mengelola desain lingkungan sekolah agar dapat menjadi media pembelajaran yang berdampak positif bagi perkembangan kreativitas, emosi, seni, kognisi, bahasa, sosial dan yang lain bagi peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui model pembelajaran Montessori di Taman Penitipan Anak (TPA). TPA biasanya hanya memberikan pelayanan berupa pengasuhan saja, namun di Toddler Surabaya Montessori School disediakan pendidikan juga. Berbagai macam model pembelajaran yang ada pada zaman sekarang, model pembelajaran Montessori masih sangatlah jarang ditemukan di kota-kota besar. Hal tersebut mendasari penulis untuk mengetahui manajemen model pembelajaran Montessori di TPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Objek dari penelitian ini adalah Toddler Surabaya Montessori School yang memiliki akreditasi A. Hasil penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran Montessori memiliki fokus dan tujuan pendidikan yang khusus serta berbeda dari model pembelajaran yang lain.

Abstract

CIPS-based Training Module has been developed to encourage teachers to improve their personal skills. Hence, the aim of this study is to investigate the long-term effects of the CIPS-based Training Module on the elementary school teachers. This study used the quasi-experimental design that involved 63 elementary school teachers. The teachers were divided into the experimental and control groups to test the objective of this study. The indicators of data analysis used in this study are mean score, standard deviation and independent sample t-test. The results show that there is a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The experimental group obtained a higher mean score than the control group, which indicates that the CIPS-based Training Module has a positive long-term effect on the elementary school teachers from the experimental group. Hence, it is recommended the CIPS-based Training Module be implemented in the training of teachers, as their thinking and teaching skills will improve, which in turn will benefit the students in attaining high achievement.

Abstract

Early childhood generally spends more time playing together with their peers, so that the lack of time for children to play activities in the family environment, this will have an impact on the interaction between children and the family environment. This study aims to describe the role of the family in children's play activities during the COVID-19 pandemic, during the pandemic the family environment plays a very important role in the child's development process, such as creating a comfortable atmosphere and making various playing media that attract children's interest. This type of research is field research using a qualitative approach. The data in this study were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. In analyzing the data, the researcher used three stages, namely reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of this study, it can be seen that the family environment has a very important role in the process of child development, one of which is through play activities, especially in providing or facilitating all the needs of children when playing activities take place.

Abstract

Getting used to solving problems independently for children is very important for their lives. So that in this case children should be taught as early as possible so that children are accustomed to addressing the problems they face. As for the problems that are commonly found in early childhood are like shy, not confident, unable to hold back his emotions such as crying and angry, and not confident in their potential. In this study, researchers aimed to find out how the patterns or strategies of parents to get children used to solving problems independently in the family environment. To get the expected results in this study, researchers used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results of research conducted related to the pattern of habitual problem solving for early childhood in the family environment researchers can find patterns of habituation carried out by parents or families are 1) Give children a sense of comfort, 2) Know the principles of child development, 3) Establish communication with good, 4) Give an example, 5) Sharpen children's abilities, 6) Give freedom not to interfere, 7) Give children freedom or not too meddle.

Abstract

The increasingly number of integrated Early Childhood Education institutions, requires Early Childhood Education managers to be more observant and sensitive in improving the quality of education, both in terms of teacher competence, infrastructure and learning processes that are of selling value. In this study, Early Childhood Education managers are required to improve the competence and professionalism of human resources. This study aims to find out how Integrated Early Childhood Education Institution Mutiara Bantul develops the competence of educators through human resource development program. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. In this study, data were collected using interviews and documentation. The results of this study state that to develop the competence of educators through human resource development program, Early Childhood Education Institution Mutiara  has implemented a variety of programs, namely a) trading educators to Integrated Early Childhood Education Institution, b) Advanced Studies and c) facilitating educators by involving educators into various Early Childhood Education teacher competency training.

Abstract

The new normal era resulted in many factors, including early childhood education institutions, such as the Primagama Kindergarten in Yogyakarta. The life and death of an institution lie in how the marketing of the educational institution is. This study aims to describe the marketing strategy, impact, and marketing barriers of Primagama Yogyakarta Kindergarten in the New Normal Era. This research uses the descriptive qualitative method. They were collecting data by observation, interviews, and documentation. The analysis uses the Milles and Huberman model. Test the validity of the data using triangulation of sources and techniques. This study indicates that the marketing of the Primagama Yogyakarta Kindergarten institution begins with building a brand with show ups, collaboration with TV stations, radio, mass media, and active social media. Furthermore, the marketing of Primagama Kindergarten begins with market research, determining various strategies such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and website and controlling by collecting suggestions from various parties. The era of the marketing pandemic is carried out by maximizing social media. The marketing impact of the pandemic era is the lack of offline customers. This is because there are obstacles in the pandemic era, including the limitation of meeting face to face, the government's appeal for a ban on face-to-face contact, and the declining purchasing power of the people. The research findings contribute to marketing strategies for early childhood education institutions in the pandemic era that can use social media.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to determine differences in 21st-century abilities, including critical thinking, creative thinking, communication skills, and collaboration skills, in 4 schools in the Yogyakarta region. This research is a comparative survey with a research sample of 60 students.Design/methods/approach – The data collecting techniques used in interviews with questionnaires consist of 4 21st century abilities: critical thinking skills, creative thinking, communication skills, and collaboration skills.Findings – The survey results showed differences in 21st-century abilities between schools AR with RA, AR with TY, RA with TY, RA with RB, and TY with RB. The t-test, where the sig prove this.t value <0.05 is obtained in a row on the creative thinking ability of 0.001; 0.049; 0.00; 0.001; 0.024. Ability to think creatively in succession 0.003; 0.009; 0.000; 0.009; 0.005. 0.000 successive communication skills; 0.011; 0.000; 0.000; 0.003. Collaboration ability 0.002 consecutively; 0.001; 0.000; 0.003; 0.000. Then there is no difference between AR and RB schools. The value of sig evidences this. t > 0.05 in a row on critical thinking skills, creative thinking, communication skills, and collaboration skills 0.781; 0.702; 0.540; 0.624. The difference in ability is influenced by the learning method used.Research implications/limitations – All study respondents were from four schools in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, which might limit the generalizability of the findings.Practical implications – This research guides stakeholders of an early childhood education institution to take strategic policies in the 21st century.Originality/value – This study contributes to the survey of differences in the abilities of early childhood in the 21st century in terms of different early childhood education institutions.
