Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement and category of improvement in students' understanding of the concept of buffer solutions by applying the Search, Solve, Create, and Share learning model. The form of this study is an experimental research with a Randomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest design. The population of this study is all students of class XI MIPA SMAN 7 Pekanbaru for the 2024/2025 school year. The research sample was students in class XI MIPA 1 as an experimental class and students in class XI MIPA 2 as a control class. The experimental class was given the treatment of the application of the SSCS learning model, while the control class was given learning without the SSCS model. The results of the data hypothesis test analysis technique used the right-hand t-test. Based on the analysis of research data, it was obtained that the tcount of 2.07 was greater than the ttable of 1.67 (dk = 67, α = 0.05) with the category of increasing students' understanding of concepts of 0.74 in the high category. The results of the study show that the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model can improve students' understanding of the concept of buffer solutions in class XI MIPA SMAN 7 Pekanbaru.

Abstract

This research aims to produce a student worksheet based SETS on a valid ion balance and pH of buffer solutions for class XI SMA/MA and knows user’s response. This research is development research (R&D) that adapts the 4-D development model. The data collection instruments used in the form of validation sheets and user response questionnaires. The research results showed that the percentage of appropriateness of content, SETS characteristics, language and presentation was 91.66; 97.91; 89.58 and 91.67%. with valid criteria. One-on-one trials were carried out on 3 students with different abilities to get comments that were used to improve the student worksheet. The results of teacher and student responses were respectively 97.17% and 84.34% with very good criteria

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of self-regulation and learning motivation on Chemistry learning outcomes of class X students at SMA Negeri 1 Lirik. This research uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The sample in this study amounted to 176 students who were taken through total sampling technique. The instruments used are questionnaires of self-regulation and learning motivation, as well as documentation of Chemistry learning outcomes that have been validated both theoretically and empirically. Data analysis techniques include descriptive statistics, simple linear regression tests, and multiple linear regression processed using SPSS. The results of the analysis show that self-regulation has a significant influence on Chemistry learning outcomes, although its contribution is smaller than learning motivation. Learning motivation has a more dominant positive and significant influence on students' Chemistry learning outcomes. Simultaneously, self-regulation and learning motivation together contribute 15.8% to the variation in Chemistry learning outcomes, while the remaining 84.2% is influenced by other factors outside this study. The conclusion of this study is that self-regulation and learning motivation are important factors in supporting students' academic achievement, so they need to be developed continuously through appropriate learning strategies in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of interpersonal intelligence and learning independence on students' chemistry learning outcomes in grade X of SMA/MA or equivalent. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The sample consisted of 152 grade X students from SMA Negeri 15 Pekanbaru. The instruments used were questionnaires and documentation of students’ chemistry learning scores. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, correlation tests, and multiple linear regression, assisted by SPSS version 25. The results showed that interpersonal intelligence had a significant effect on learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.042 (<0.05), contributing 34%. Learning independence also had a significant effect on learning outcomes with a significance value of 0.025 (<0.05), contributing 58%. Simultaneously, interpersonal intelligence and learning independence had a positive and significant influence on students’ chemistry learning outcomes, with a combined contribution of 58.1%. The conclusion of this study is that interpersonal intelligence and learning independence are two crucial factors that support students' success in chemistry learning.

Abstract

Learning plays an essential role in shaping students' understanding, but many teachers still use conventional methods that are less varied, leading to less enjoyable and unmotivating learning, especially in chemistry subjects. The observations indicate a lack of teaching materials and chemical experiments that could improve students' understanding and motivation. This study aims to develop a valid Chemistry Experiment Student Worksheet for Grade XI that addresses socio-scientific issues and to examine user responses to the worksheet. The research model used is a 4-D model consisting of 4 stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The results of this study are in accordance with the assessments of 2 material expert validators and one media expert validator, namely the Chemistry Experiment Student Worksheet Based on Socio-Scientific Issue, which obtained percentages of 98.4375% and 100%, respectively, and were categorized as valid. This means that the Experiment Student Worksheet developed is suitable for use. The Student Worksheet for Chemistry Experiments Based on Socio-scientific Issue also received a positive response from users, with 92.96% and 87.91% of teacher and student responses, respectively, in the good category.

Abstract

This study used classroom action Research to improve student learning activities and outcomes on buffer solutions for Grade XI 1 at SMAN 6 Pekanbaru through discovery learning. The model was applied through stages of stimulation, problem statement, data collection, data processing, verification, and generalization. CAR cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection addressed learning problems arising from the abstract and microscopic nature of buffer concepts. Participants were 36 students of class XI 1. Results show student learning activities increased from 57.61% (Cycle I, adequate) to 71.10% (Cycle II, good), meeting the success criterion. Student learning outcomes similarly improved, with classical mastery rising from 63.88% in Cycle I to 94.44% in Cycle II, and mean scores increasing accordingly. Findings indicate that systematically implemented discovery learning, supported by teacher scaffolding and iterative refinement, effectively enhances both engagement and achievement in buffer solution topics. The study recommends broader application and further Research on scaffolded discovery approaches across classes.
