Abstract

The development of a chemoentrepreneurship (CEP) oriented Colloidal Chemistry E-Module  assisted by 3D Page Flip Professional (3D PFP) is important to with produce students teaching material products that are related to their daily life environment and can stimulate students to create economically valuable and independent products. . To produce a very valid E-Module product, the user response is very good and it looks very attractive, research and development (R&D) is carried out with a 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate). The results of the validity of material and media experts on the developed E-Module are 95.54% and 95.5%, respectively, with a very valid category. The results of the limited test, namely a one-on-one test on 3 students, obtained information that the E-Module needed to be revised. While the user test results from 3 chemistry teachers obtained an average questionnaire score of 94% with very good criteria. Then the results of a limited test of 30 students obtained an average score of 88% with very interesting criteria. Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' misconceptions on the topics of alkenes and alkynes in organic chemistry learning using a three-tier diagnostic test based on the certainty of response index (CRI). The research subjects consisted of 39 chemistry education students. The test instruments included three levels: multiple-choice answers, essay-type reasons, and a confidence level of 0–5. The data were classified into categories of understanding the concept, misconception, and not knowing the concept. The results revealed that 55% of the respondents understood the concept, 30% had misconceptions, and 15% did not know the concept. The highest misconceptions appeared in the subconcepts of alkene and alkyne addition reactions, Markovnikov's rule, reaction product prediction, and rearrangement. In-depth analysis revealed three main patterns of misconceptions, namely, false positive understanding, robust misconception, and strong misconception, with the latter type being most dominant in terms of mechanistic concepts. Misconceptions arose because of the rote application of rules, inappropriate generalization, and failure to read molecular structural information. These findings emphasize the need for learning strategies based on dual representation and cognitive conflict to reduce misconceptions and improve conceptual understanding in organic chemistry.

Abstract

Learning plays an essential role in shaping students' understanding, but many teachers still use conventional methods that are less varied, leading to less enjoyable and unmotivating learning, especially in chemistry subjects. The observations indicate a lack of teaching materials and chemical experiments that could improve students' understanding and motivation. This study aims to develop a valid Chemistry Experiment Student Worksheet for Grade XI that addresses socio-scientific issues and to examine user responses to the worksheet. The research model used is a 4-D model consisting of 4 stages: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The results of this study are in accordance with the assessments of 2 material expert validators and one media expert validator, namely the Chemistry Experiment Student Worksheet Based on Socio-Scientific Issue, which obtained percentages of 98.4375% and 100%, respectively, and were categorized as valid. This means that the Experiment Student Worksheet developed is suitable for use. The Student Worksheet for Chemistry Experiments Based on Socio-scientific Issue also received a positive response from users, with 92.96% and 87.91% of teacher and student responses, respectively, in the good category.

Abstract

This study used classroom action Research to improve student learning activities and outcomes on buffer solutions for Grade XI 1 at SMAN 6 Pekanbaru through discovery learning. The model was applied through stages of stimulation, problem statement, data collection, data processing, verification, and generalization. CAR cycles of planning, action, observation, and reflection addressed learning problems arising from the abstract and microscopic nature of buffer concepts. Participants were 36 students of class XI 1. Results show student learning activities increased from 57.61% (Cycle I, adequate) to 71.10% (Cycle II, good), meeting the success criterion. Student learning outcomes similarly improved, with classical mastery rising from 63.88% in Cycle I to 94.44% in Cycle II, and mean scores increasing accordingly. Findings indicate that systematically implemented discovery learning, supported by teacher scaffolding and iterative refinement, effectively enhances both engagement and achievement in buffer solution topics. The study recommends broader application and further Research on scaffolded discovery approaches across classes.

Abstract

Electronic Student Worksheets (e-Student Worksheets) include teaching materials that are intensively developed to facilitate their learning process. One website with many features that can be utilized to create E-Worksheet is Liveworksheets. This study aims to develop an E-Worksheet based on the Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction (ARCS) model on the subject of acid-base that is valid and knows the user response. The research method used is Research and Development (RD) with the 4-D development model. Research instruments in the form of validation sheets were given to 3 validators, and user response sheets were given to 2 chemistry teachers, 10 students from a Senior High School A in Pekanbaru, and 10 students from a Senior High School B in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. Material expert E-Worksheet validation obtained a total average score of 97.3% with valid criteria and media expert validation obtained a total average score of 100% with valid criteria. User response obtained results with an average score of 95.3% from teachers and students of 89% with very good criteria. From the research results, it can be concluded that the ARCS-based E-Worksheet using Liveworksheets on acid-base material can be used as teaching materials in the learning process.
