Abstract

Physics learning in secondary schools still faces obstacles in developing students' critical thinking skills and creativity, especially due to the limitations of digital teaching materials that are contextual and integrated with local wisdom. This study aims to analyze the needs, implementation constraints, and perceptions of physics teachers towards the development of STEM-PBL e-modules based on Papuan local wisdom on sound wave materials. This study is a needs analysis study at the Analyze stage in the ADDIE model with a mixed method approach through a descriptive survey. The subjects of the study were 11 high school physics teachers in Merauke Regency who were selected purposively. Data were collected through Likert scale questionnaires and interviews, then analyzed quantitatively-descriptively and qualitative-thematic. The results of the study showed that as many as 81.82% of teachers were interested in developing modules containing local wisdom, 84.09% had used experimental methods, and 75.00% had implemented PBL. However, there is a gap between interest and implementation capacity, where 63.64% of teachers have difficulty developing modules with local wisdom, only 52.27% apply STEM-PBL in an integrated manner, and the integration of local wisdom is still partial even though 93.18% of teachers consider sound wave material as an essential topic. Based on the teacher's perspective, the need for STEM-PBL e-modules based on Papuan local wisdom arises from the gap between the learning practices that have taken place and the demands of integrated contextual learning implementation. These findings show the need to develop e-modules that provide systematic STEM-PBL integration, relevant Papuan cultural contexts, and pedagogical guidance that can support teachers in implementing sound wave learning in a more structured and meaningful way.

Abstract

Chili peppers (Capsicum annuum L.) are an important horticultural commodity susceptible to seed-borne virus infections, including Tobacco Mosaic Virus (TMV), which can reduce plant productivity. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Dry Heat Treatment (DHT) in suppressing the appearance of symptoms suspected to be related to TMV infection in several chili lines. The study used a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with two factors and four replications. The first factor consisted of seeds without DHT treatment and seeds with DHT treatment, while the second factor consisted of three chili lines. Observations were made on the percentage of plants showing symptoms of mosaic, chlorosis, leaf curl, and growth inhibition in the vegetative phase. Percentage data were transformed using arcsine transformation before being analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that DHT treatment was able to reduce the percentage of symptomatic plants from 29.67% in untreated seeds to 10.33% in DHT-treated seeds. The combination of DHT-free treatment on the K3 strain resulted in the highest symptom percentage of 47.02%, while DHT treatment on all strains reduced the symptom percentage. The strain factor had no significant effect, while the interaction between DHT and the strain significantly affected the percentage of symptomatic plants. These results indicate that DHT has the potential to be applied as an environmentally friendly seed sanitation method to suppress seed-borne pathogens in chili plants. However, the identification of TMV in this study was based on field symptoms and has not been confirmed using serological or molecular methods.

Abstract

The creation of the Ecopattern Mangrove collection aims to offer innovative modest wear that takes ecological aspects into account. This is based on the significant market demand for environmentally friendly modest fashion and the still limited references for creating modest wear that combine mangrove motifs with natural dyes and painted batik techniques. Therefore, the novelty of this creation is the exploratory synergy between painted batik techniques with natural dyes tingi and jolawe on rayon and cotton fabric materials, resulting in a visual character in the form of an organic texture, earthy nuances, and a distinctive natural color effect. The creation method used is the Three Stage Design Process which consists of three stages: Problem Definition and Research, Creative Exploration, and Implementation. Through this method, four modest wear looks are produced with the application of environmentally friendly materials as an identity of sustainable luxury. The implications of this creation for science are providing alternative developments in textile design and sustainable fashion, especially in the realm of modest wear.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to construct an instructional leadership model for school principals based on Kemuhammadiyahan values within the context of an Islamic boarding school. This issue is addressed to overcome a persistent problem, namely the dichotomy of curriculum and the dominance of bureaucratic leadership styles that tend to neglect the academic substance of pesantren education. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, passive participatory observation, and document analysis at Pondok Pesantren Modern Muhammadiyah Sangen. Informants were selected using purposive and snowball sampling techniques, involving the principal, vice principals, asatidz, and Muhammadiyah organizational administrators. The data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal three main themes: (1) the theological internalization of the values of Tauhid, Amanah, Tajdid, Berkemajuan, and Uswah Hasanah as the leadership worldview, (2) the articulation of instructional strategies through the mandatory integration of Al-Islam values in lesson planning and school culture formation, and (3) the formulation of a hypothetical model of progressive instructional leadership. This model synergizes balanced guidance for teachers and students through the implementation of a tripartite curriculum consisting of general sciences, pesantren classical texts, and Kemuhammadiyahan. This study contributes to the enrichment of value-based educational leadership theory through a progressive modernist Islamic leadership paradigm. Practically, the findings provide an applicable guideline for school principals in managing the quality of an integrated 24-hour curriculum. Future studies are recommended to examine the validity of this hypothetical model in broader pesantren contexts using a multi-case approach or research and development design.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of internalizing disciplinary character through the Santri Teladan (Exemplary Student) Training Program at Pondok Pesantren Modern Muhammadiyah Sangen, as well as to examine its supporting and inhibiting factors. The primary issue addressed is that discipline cultivation often remains a mere formality and has not fully fostered deep value awareness. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed in this research. The participants included program managers, instructors (ustaz), supervisors (musyrif), and participating students (santri), selected through purposive and snowball sampling techniques. Data were collected via semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and documentary studies, and subsequently analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The main findings reveal that the internalization of disciplinary character is executed systematically through integrated classical learning on caregiving, teaching, and preaching (da'wah), reinforced by daily routines (such as morning assemblies and attendance checks), close supervision, and field training. This process successfully nurtures disciplinary awareness, mental readiness, and social responsibility among students. The program's success is driven by high student motivation and practitioner involvement, despite challenges like physical exhaustion due to a rigorous schedule and hot weather. These findings contribute to strengthening Muhaimin's value internalization theory (value transformation, transaction, and trans-internalization) within the context of structured boarding school training programs. In conclusion, an experiential field-based training program is highly effective in driving behavioral transformation and cultivating spiritual-managerial consciousness in students. Practically, this model provides a viable reference for other Islamic boarding schools to design contextual character development programs. Future research is recommended to utilize a longitudinal approach or expand the scope to include schools with different institutional characteristics.
