Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal’s strategies in planning, implementing, and evaluating Merdeka Curriculum and its contribution to improving the quality of education at SD Negeri 3 Margo Bhakti, Mesuji District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. As the first School leader (Sekolah Penggerak) in the area, SDN 3 Margo Bhakti has emerged as a pioneer and reference point in educational transformation, with the highest number of students among nearby elementary schools. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed to explore the leadership strategies adopted by the school principal in navigating the challenges and opportunities of Merdeka Curriculum implementation. The findings show that the principal’s strategy is organized into three main steps: planning, which uses SWOT analysis and matches the school’s goals; implementation, which focuses on teamwork among teachers, technology use, community participation, and clear budget management; and evaluation, which happens regularly through supervision and analysis of academic data. Merdeka Curriculum has greatly improved the quality of education at the school, making learning more flexible, enjoyable, and meaningful, while also promoting character development through the Pancasila Student Profile. Additionally, teachers receive ongoing training, mentoring, support from Merdeka Mengajar platform, and varied teaching methods. With strong leadership and steady execution, SDN 3 Margo Bhakti has successfully built an innovative, inclusive, and forward-looking learning environment.

Abstract

This study examines the individual and combined effects of academic supervision and school environment on education quality in public elementary schools across Mesuji District, addressing three key objectives: (1) assessing academic supervision's impact, (2) evaluating school environment's influence, and (3) measuring their synergistic contribution. Employing a quantitative causal design, we surveyed 122 teachers from 10 systematically sampled public elementary schools (representing 44% of the district's 277 teachers across 25 schools). Data collection combined validated questionnaires (α=0.87) with institutional documentation, analyzed through Pearson correlation and hierarchical multiple regression (p<0.05). Findings reveal significant positive influences: academic supervision independently accounted for 32% variance in education quality (β=0.47, p<0.01), while school environment explained 28% (β=0.42, p<0.01). Their combined effect explained 67% of quality variance (R²=0.67, F=58.34, p<0.001), demonstrating synergistic enhancement beyond individual factors. This study introduces an integrated quality predictor model that: (1) quantifies the multiplier effect of combining supervision and environmental factors, and (2) establishes threshold values for effective supervision in resource-constrained settings - a previously unmeasured dimension in developing educational contexts. Three actionable strategies emerge: Implementing fortnightly supervision cycles with classroom observation protocols Optimizing physical environments through noise-reduction and learning space redesign Developing school climate improvement teams to monitor psychosocial factors. The research makes dual contributions by: (1) advancing theoretical understanding of environmental-supervisory interactions in educational ecosystems, and (2) providing an evidence-based framework for simultaneous quality improvement interventions in comparable rural school systems.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyze training models for enhancing information and communication technology (ICT) competency among elementary teachers, and (2) develop an In-House Training (IHT) module to improve ICT skills. Using Research and Development (R&D) methodology, the study progressed through three phases: preliminary research, module development, and testing. Fourteen teachers and principals from SD Negeri 38 Palembang participated as subjects. The study produced “The Excitement of Learning Media Through Canva”, a validated IHT module demonstrating high feasibility, with 88.54% (material experts) and 91.07% (media experts) approval rates. Practicality assessments rated the module 4.56/5 (very good), while effectiveness was confirmed by post-test scores averaging 90.66%. These results affirm the module’s validity, practicality, and effectiveness for teacher training. Novelty lies in the module’s integration of Canva as a user-friendly, creative tool for ICT skill development, tailored specifically for elementary educators. Practical implications include providing schools with a ready-to-implement, cost-effective training solution that enhances digital literacy. The study contributes to educational technology by offering a replicable model for teacher professional development, bridging the gap between ICT theory and classroom application. Future research could explore longitudinal impacts on teaching practices or adapt the module for diverse educational contexts.

Then post-test group counseling was carried out with a total score of 181 with an average value of 45.2 in the low category. The results of the Wilcoxon test showed a Z count of - 1.826. Becausethe Asymp value. Sig(2-tailed) 0.068 is smaller than 0.5, it can be concluded that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This means that there is a significant effect after being given group counseling with Social Modeling Technique, which shows that this method is effective in minimizing academic stress of high school students.
