Abstract

The present study intends to map the developments and future trends in Human Resource Development (HRD) using a bibliometric analysis. The publication data of highly ranked academic journals on the topic of HRD were examined with the help of VOSviewer software to reveal the major research trends, author and institutional partnerships, and the most commonly used keywords. The analysis has uncovered a number of prevailing clusters such as transformational leadership, human resource management, talent management, human resource development and performance management. The cluster of transformational leadership became very salient, as it reflects its close support with job satisfaction, employee performance, motivation, and organizational outcomes. The human resource management cluster focuses on financial performance, lean processes, and efficiency in the public sector. The role of talent management was emphasized in the hospitality sector and the rise in using evidence-based methods. The cluster human resource development deals with high performance, coaching practices and organizational citizenship behavior whilst performance management deals with employee performance, job crafting and evaluation systems. Moreover, the research discerns a growing tendency towards global collaboration, which highlights the role of global outlook in HRD research. These results give a broad perspective of the changing HRD landscape and give an orientation to the future research directions.

Abstract

Rebranding at healthcare institutions, especially those with tainted legacies, is a multifaceted endeavor that transcends mere alterations in visual identity. Hospitals in Indonesia, historically linked to leprosy, frequently encounter difficulties in altering public opinion and restoring institutional credibility. RSUP Dr. Tadjuddin Chalid Makassar, previously a national referral facility for leprosy, exemplifies a significant change into a general public hospital. Nevertheless, few studies have investigated how these institutions employ culturally rooted and cohesive communication tactics to alter public trust. This study examines the hospital's rebranding process, focusing on institutional repositioning, cultural engagement, internal branding, and Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC). The research aims to explore how these strategies contribute to restoring the institution's image and public trust. A qualitative case study approach was employed, concentrating on the hospital’s rebranding efforts from 2018 to 2023. Data was gathered through interviews with key stakeholders, content analysis of communication materials, and a review of patient visit data. The study indicates that the intentional application of Siri, a Bugis-Makassar cultural principle emphasizing dignity, was essential in redefining the hospital's identity. IMC maintained uniform messaging across digital and offline media, while internal branding mitigated employee resistance and linked human resources with the new institutional vision. A notable rise in overall patient visits from 2018 to 2023 was recorded, indicating enhanced public perception.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication strategies of agitation and propaganda employed in the political campaign of DPR RI Member M.F. during the 2024 Legislative Election. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted in North Luwu Regency, South Sulawesi Province. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The primary informant of this study is M.F., who served as a Member of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI) for the 2019–2024 period. The key informant is M.A., the head of M.F.’s campaign team, while supporting informants include I.P.I., the Regent of North Luwu (2016–2024), and H.S.E., the Speaker of the North Luwu Regional House of Representatives (2025–2029). The findings reveal that M.F. and his team consistently applied agitation communication strategies during limited face-to-face campaign events across multiple locations in the electoral district. In addition, five out of Harold D. Lasswell’s seven propaganda techniques were identified in the campaign: Glittering Generalities, Transfer, Testimonial, Plain Folks, and Card Stacking. These strategies were instrumental in mobilizing public awareness, shaping political attitudes, and encouraging voters to reject money politics while prioritizing candidates’ track records.
