Abstract

Students with good self-efficacy are generally able to overcome challenges in various aspects of life. This study aimed to measure students’ self-efficacy in learning mathematics in the Mathematics Education Department of Malikussaleh University during the 2024/2025 academic year. With technological support, PBL can be implemented more interactively and flexibly, enabling students to access learning resources, engage in online discussions, and develop problem-solving abilities independently. A qualitative research method was employed, with data collected through a questionnaire. The subjects of this study were students enrolled in the Mathematics Education Department at Malikussaleh University. The data analysis in this study was carried out through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. A total of 41 students participated in the study. The results showed that 6 students (15%) had high self-efficacy, 31 students (75%) had moderate self-efficacy, and 4 students (10%) had low self-efficacy. The average self-efficacy score among students was 76.47%.  Based on these findings, students of the Mathematics Education Department at Malikussaleh University can generally be categorized as having a moderate level of self-efficacy. Analysis of the questionnaire data indicates that most students put significant effort into solving the problems assigned by lecturers, and some reported never procrastinating on tasks. While some students disagreed with completing tasks only at the deadline, others disagreed with the idea of never postponing tasks and stated that they preferred to work under deadline pressure.  Strengthening this psychological construct is crucial not only for deepening students' understanding of mathematical concepts but also for improving their preparedness and effectiveness as future mathematics teachers.

Abstract

The ADKAR change management model was applied to enhance Learning Management System (LMS) adoption at higher education. This study highlights distinct differences between LMS users and non-users across all five stages of the ADKAR model Awareness, Desire, Knowledge, Ability, and Reinforcement. LMS users exhibited a higher level of Awareness, recognizing the rationale for LMS adoption and its benefits, while non-users showed limited understanding and engagement. In terms of Desire, LMS users demonstrated stronger motivation and a sense of urgency to adopt LMS, compared to non-users who lacked initiative and internal drive. Knowledge gaps were evident, with LMS users possessing better technical skills and problem-solving abilities, whereas non-users required more training and access to resources. Similarly, LMS users demonstrated higher Ability, effectively applying knowledge in practice, whereas non-users struggled due to insufficient practical experience and mentorship. Lastly, in the Reinforcement stage, LMS users benefited from ongoing recognition and support, while non-users lacked sufficient reinforcement mechanisms. The study concludes that targeted interventions, such as personalized training, mentorship, and effective communication, are essential to bridge these gaps and ensure broader LMS adoption across the institution.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop an ethnomathematics-based mathematics worksheet (LKPD) to enhance students’ numeracy literacy skills. The research applied a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4D model, consisting of the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The findings from the define stage revealed that students’ numeracy abilities were still relatively low, while the teaching materials used in schools had not incorporated local cultural elements into mathematics learning. During the design stage, the worksheet was created by integrating mathematical concepts with local cultural contexts to provide more meaningful and engaging learning experiences. In the develop stage, the LKPD was evaluated by subject experts, media experts, and educational practitioners. The validation results indicated that the product achieved a highly valid category in terms of content, language, presentation, and visual design. Classroom trials demonstrated that the ethnomathematics-based LKPD improved students’ abilities to interpret numerical information, solve contextual mathematical problems, and relate mathematics to everyday situations. In addition, students showed greater participation, enthusiasm, and motivation during learning activities. Therefore, the developed LKPD can serve as an innovative learning resource to support the improvement of students’ numeracy literacy.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy is an essential competency that should be developed from the elementary school level to help students understand and apply mathematical concepts in daily life. However, elementary school students’ numeracy literacy remains low, especially in understanding problems, connecting numerical information, and solving contextual mathematical tasks. This condition is caused by mathematics learning that is still abstract, procedural, and less connected to students’ real-life experiences. Therefore, contextual and engaging learning media are needed to support numeracy learning. This study aims to develop a Doodle Art comic based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) to enhance elementary school students’ numeracy literacy. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research instruments included validation sheets, teacher and student questionnaires, numeracy literacy tests, observations, and interviews. The results showed that the RME-based Doodle Art comic was categorized as highly feasible, with an average validation score of 4.41. Teacher responses obtained an average score of 4.54, categorized as very practical, while student responses obtained an average score of 4.50, categorized as very good. In addition, students’ numeracy literacy scores increased from 61.10 in the pretest to 76.18 in the posttest. The study concludes that the RME-based Doodle Art comic has the potential to become an innovative and contextual learning medium for improving elementary school students’ numeracy literacy.

Abstract

Environmental issues stemming from textile waste and the use of synthetic dyes are on the rise, creating a need for eco-friendly alternatives in fabric production. Ecoprinting—a technique for printing natural patterns using plant materials—offers a solution that also serves as a medium for environmental education for elementary school students. However, its application at the elementary school level remains limited. Therefore, this community service initiative, conducted through a workshop, aims to introduce students at SD Air Tenang to ecoprinting and train them in creating ecoprinted pouches, thereby fostering early environmental awareness. The program employed a combination of awareness-raising and hands-on training. Activities began with an explanation of basic ecoprinting concepts, followed by a demonstration of the "pounding" technique and practical sessions where students printed natural patterns onto fabric to create pouches. Additionally, an interactive discussion regarding the sustainable use of natural resources was held. The results indicate that the students successfully grasped the ecoprinting concept and effectively applied the pounding technique. They also gained a greater appreciation for environmental preservation by utilizing natural materials for fabric coloring. Thus, this workshop contributed to enhancing creative skills while instilling ecological awareness from an early age
