Abstract

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the management of co-curricular activities in fostering the character of global diversity among primary school students. Global diversity is a key dimension of the Pancasila Student Profile, emphasizing cultural awareness, inclusive interaction, and fair behavior within a pluralistic society. Novelty: This research highlights systematic co-curricular management as a strategic mechanism for strengthening global diversity character within the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly through the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5), where practical models at the school level remain varied and underexplored. Methods: The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using interviews, observations, and document analysis. Data were analyzed through the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Results: The findings reveal that effective co-curricular management depends on three main aspects: (1) needs-based and contextually relevant planning grounded in local culture, (2) collaborative and experiential learning activities that promote intercultural engagement, and (3) authentic evaluation emphasizing reflection, equitable participation, and inclusive contribution. Principal leadership, community partnerships, and teacher capacity were identified as key supporting factors. Conclusions: Co-curricular activities play a strategic role in shaping global diversity character among primary school students. Systematic and integrated management within the school ecosystem is essential to optimize their impact and achieve the goals of the Pancasila Student Profile.

Abstract

The swift advancement of digital technology necessitates a cohesive strategy to enhance digital citizenship within citizenship education via pertinent and contextual learning methodologies. Previous studies generally analyzed the two as separate factors; this study, however, rigorously investigates the level of integration between them in citizenship education. The study used a systematic literature review to analyze scientific articles published between 2018 and 2025, indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, using the keywords digital citizenship, augmented reality, citizenship education, learning, and technology, in accordance with PRISMA guidelines, assisted by Google Scholar and Publish or Perish. The findings indicate that digital citizenship through augmented reality serves as an immersive educational technology that enhances engagement and visualization in learning. The explicit integration of these two concepts remains constrained. This paper presents a conceptual framework that designates augmented reality as a pedagogical intermediary for applying digital citizenship principles in experiential citizenship education, and advocates for more empirical validation in genuine educational settings.

Abstract

This study develops and validates a contextually grounded Integrative Learning model that effectively bridges global multicultural education frameworks with Indonesian local wisdom to enhance cultural sensitivity among junior high school students. in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The research addresses the gap between multicultural education theory and practical implementation in diverse cultural contexts. Using Research and Development (R&D) methodology, this study encompasses three phases: preliminary study, development, and testing. Data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires involving teachers and students from six schools in West Lombok. The preliminary findings indicate that current social studies instruction lacks integration of local cultural values and multicultural perspectives. The developed model incorporates Sasak local wisdom and employs Fogarty's curriculum integration framework, utilizing multiple integration patterns including connected, nested, sequenced, shared, and webbed approaches. Validation by experts and field testing demonstrate the model's feasibility. Pre-experimental design with one-group pretest-posttest was employed to measure effectiveness across three implementation sites: SMPN X (n=28), SMPN Y (n=26), and SMPN Z (n=31). Statistical analysis revealed significant improvements at all sites with paired samples t-tests showing p-values of 0.020, <0.001, and 0.010 respectively. Normalized Gain (N-Gain) analysis yielded consistent "Medium Gain" results with mean scores of 0.5120, 0.5030, and 0.4980. This research contributes to social studies pedagogy by providing a contextually relevant model that bridges global competencies with local cultural preservation, demonstrating scalability and readiness for broader implementation in transforming how cultural sensitivity is cultivated in Indonesian educational settings.
