Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the direct influence between task complexity, competence, work culture and locus of control on the performance of goods and services procurement employees and to analyze the indirect influence between task complexity, competence, work culture and locus of control on the work of goods and services procurement employees. services which are moderated by the transformational leadership variable. The number of samples is the same as the population or by census or saturated sample method, as many as 163 employees managing the procurement of goods and services for the Riau Islands Province (PPK and Election Working Group). The data analysis method was carried out using descriptive statistics and data analysis using SEM and data processing using the smart PLS program. The R Square value of the combined or simultaneous influence of X1, X2, X3, and X4 on Y is 0.907 with an adjusted R Square value of 0.903. This can be explained that all exogenous constructs (X1, X2, X3, and X4) simultaneously influence Z by 90.30%. These findings prove that task complexity, competence, work culture and locus of control have a significant determination of the performance of procurement of goods and services in the Riau Islands Province and have an R Square value of combined or simultaneous influence of X1, X2, X3, and X4 on Z of 0.769 with an adjusted R Square value of 0.763. This proves that task complexity, competence, work culture and locus of control have significant determinants of job satisfaction of 76.30%. And the R Square value of the moderating effect on the performance of goods and services procurement employees is 0.775 with an adjusted R Square value of 0.770, meaning that the transformational leadership variable has an influence on the performance of goods and services procurement employees by 77%. The novelty of this research is that to optimize the performance of procurement of goods and services in the Riau Islands Province, researchers added one indicator to the locus of control variable, namely the need for spiritual intelligence (ESQ) in addition to emotional intelligence.

Abstract

The high turnover rate in Batam's manufacturing industry presents a serious challenge for human resource management, particularly at the production operator level, which forms the operational backbone of factories. This study aims to analyze the effect of work environment on turnover intention with job satisfaction as an intervening variable among manufacturing operators in Batam. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey technique with a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire. The respondents comprised 100 manufacturing operators in Batam, selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results show that work environment has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction (β = 0.612; p < 0.001), work environment has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention (β = –0.241; p = 0.012), job satisfaction has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention (β = –0.468; p < 0.001), and job satisfaction partially mediates the effect of work environment on turnover intention (β = –0.286; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that improvements in both physical and non-physical work environments can reduce operators' turnover intention through enhanced job satisfaction.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the influence of leadership, work motivation, work environment, work stress, and job insecurity on job satisfaction and its subsequent impact on turnover intention, with internal locus of control as a moderating variable, among employees of four-star hotels in Batam City. Methodology: A quantitative explanatory approach was used. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 343 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS software. Results: The work environment had the strongest effect on job satisfaction (? = 0.331), followed by work motivation and leadership, while work stress and job insecurity significantly reduced job satisfaction and increased turnover intention. Job satisfaction significantly lowered turnover intention and mediated the effect of the work environment, but the internal locus of control did not moderate the relationship. The model showed strong explanatory power (R² = 0.849, 0.805). Conclusions: Job satisfaction functions as a central mediator in reducing turnover intention, particularly through the work environment, underscoring the importance of job and personal resources in the hospitality industry. Limitations: This study is confined to four-star hotels in a single city and relies on cross-sectional, self-reported data, which limits causal inference and generalizability. Contributions: These findings provide empirical guidance for human resource management strategies in hospitality and extend organizational behavior and social exchange theories within the Indonesian context

Abstract

Employee performance has become a critical concern for organizations seeking to maintain competitiveness and achieve sustainable operational outcomes. In this context, organizational support, workplace conditions, and internal employee factors play an important role in shaping motivation and performance levels within organizations. This research aimed to describe the determination of organizational culture, employee competency, employee commitment, work environment, employee work motivation, organizational support, and employee work performance through employee work motivation as an intervening variable and organizational support as a moderating variable. This research used a questionnaire from 220 respondents. Data analytics will be using SEM-PLS. The results indicate that organizational culture, employee competence, work environment, and work motivation significantly influence employee performance, while employee commitment affects performance indirectly through work motivation. Organizational culture and competence improve performance directly but do not significantly enhance motivation, whereas the work environment strengthens performance both directly and through motivation. Additionally, organizational support contributes directly to employee performance but does not moderate the relationship between motivation and performance. These findings imply that organizations should prioritize strengthening workplace conditions, developing employee competencies, and maintaining supportive organizational practices to improve performance outcomes effectively.

Abstract

This study investigates the determinants of employee performance at PT Meitech Eka Bintan by examining the roles of organizational culture, employee competence, employee commitment, work environment, and work motivation, with organizational support positioned as a moderating variable. The research is grounded in organizational theory and human resource performance frameworks, emphasizing the strategic importance of motivation and support systems in a heavy fabrication industry context characterized by high turnover. The objective is to analyze both direct and indirect relationships among variables and to evaluate the mediating role of work motivation as well as the moderating function of organizational support. A quantitative approach was employed using questionnaires distributed to 220 engineers, supervisors, and craftsmen. Data were analyzed using SmartPLS 4.1 with validity, reliability, and structural model testing. The results indicate that work motivation significantly influences employee performance and partially mediates the relationship between work environment and performance. Organizational culture and competence directly affect performance, while commitment influences performance indirectly through motivation. Organizational support significantly strengthens the relationship between motivation and performance but does not moderate motivation formation. In conclusion, employee performance in this industry is driven primarily by motivation and a supportive organizational system rather than by culture or commitment alone.

Abstract

This research was conducted to assess the contribution of company size, Good Corporate Governance, and leverage to Corporate Social Responsibility practices, as well as evaluate the role of profitability as a moderator. A total of 11 energy sector companies were used as observation units in this study that have gone public and registered on the IDX from 2019 to 2023, with a total of 55 observations. The analysis was carried out through the application of panel data regression analysis and moderation interaction tests. Data analysis in this study shows that the size of the company, the portion of shares owned by the institution and management, and the role of the audit committee do not contribute significantly to CSR disclosure. On the contrary, the board of commissioners and leverage have proven to have a significant positive effect. Profitability acts as a moderator that weakens the influence of business scale aspects, managerial shareholding, and board of commissioners' authority, but strengthens the impact of the existence of an audit committee on corporate social responsibility disclosure. No moderation effect was found on the relationship between institutional ownership and leverage and CSR. The findings of this study indicate that the role of profitability moderation is selective, depending on the aspects of corporate governance and financial structure.
