Abstract

The objective of this study is to investigate the phenomenon of street musicians at Bandung Traffic Lights from the perspective of traffic law and road transportation. The research method employed is a qualitative approach with a specific focus on the interaction between road users and aspects of traffic law and road transportation concerning street musicians at Bandung Traffic Lights. The research methodology includes observations, interviews, documentation, and in-depth analysis. The research findings reveal that the presence of street musicians at Bandung Traffic Lights has a diverse impact on commuters; some find it entertaining, while others feel distracted. From the standpoint of traffic and road transport law, the activities of street musicians on the sidewalk or roadway may be considered violations of Article 275, paragraph (1), and Article 28, paragraph (2), of Law No. 22 of 2009 on Traffic and Road Transport. The implications of this study underscore the significance of arts education in fostering a sense of discipline among street musicians. This research can help ensure that their artistic performances are more focused and orderly without causing disruption to road users.

Abstract

The characteristics of Sundanese kendang in a review of multiple cultural perspectives are sufficient to provide space for exploration in the process of acculturation of traditional arts at national and international levels. Sundanese kendang has shown its existence as a collaborative local cultural product. However, the acculturation of Sundanese kendang which is currently growing has certain problems on the other hand. Through the various charms it offers, Sundanese kendang are now not only owned by the Sundanese people, but are already owned by other non-Sundanese people. Therefore, of the many changes in the process of development and distribution, identification of how the Sundanese kendang looks today is quite important to complement the Sundanese kendang literacy itself as a complete identity. Sundanese kendang as a cultural product are certainly inseparable from the Sundanese people as their owners. Periodically, Sundanese kendang have not found common ground about when, where, and who can be used as an accurate reference source for the interests of Sundanese kendang literacy itself, therefore this paper offers an approach through the pattern of rationality of Sundanese culture which allows it to be used as an option. in the study of Sundanese kendang as one of the cultural products of the Sundanese people. The philosophy of the Sundanese people will be reflected in the meaning contained in the Sundanese kendang as one of the cultural products it produces. By discovering the cultural values contained in Sundanese kendang, it will provide a new view of what, why and what is wrong with Sundanese kendang.

Abstract

The problem of this research is how Senam Bedincak can be an alternative recreational sport for the people of Bangka Belitung. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the choreographic and musical structure of Bedincak Gymnastics in Bedindak Gymnastics so that it becomes an alternative recreational sport for the people of Bangka Belitung. The method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. Bedincak Gymnastics is a community sport that adopts traditional Bangka Belitung dance movements such as Kedidi Dance, Dincak Dambus Dance and Measles Dance. The purpose of Bedincak Gymnastics is to improve the overall health and fitness of the community as well as to introduce and preserve Bangka Belitung culture to the community. Bedincak Gymnastics consists of 7 movement structures, namely opening movement, pattern 1 movement, pattern string movement, bedincak basic movement, pattern 2 movement, pattern 3 movement and closing movement.

Abstract

Mang Koko's 'Guntur Galunggung' is one of the most evocative and innovative songs in Sundanese music, created in response to the 1982 eruption of Mount Galunggung. This song represents a collaborative effort between Sundanese writer Wahyu Wibisana and musical artist Mang Koko, showcasing uniqueness in its thematic background, musical arrangement, and lyrical meaning. The research employs descriptive analysis, focusing on data processing through content analysis of music manuscripts. Data collection methods include observation, interviews, and literature studies. This analysis provides an in-depth review of the innovative Sundanese musical work, 'Guntur Galunggung,' highlighting its musical complexity and interrelated symbolic meanings. The research results reveal the intricate structure of the song "Guntur Galunggung," comprising 12 stanzas of rumpaka, 12 stanzas of gending accompaniment, and distinct sections with varying musical elements, while symbolically depicting the life of a local couple, Mang Maman, and Bi Warsih, emphasizing themes of simplicity, gratitude, resilience, and adaptation in the face of challenges, culminating in their migration to Sumatra as a metaphorical journey of rising after a fall.

Abstract

Suling adalah alat musik tiup tradisional yang terbuat dari bambu, kayu atau bahan sejenis lainnya. Suling yang digunakan di Jawa Barat menggunakan nada pentatonik, yang terdiri dari 5 nada dasar: Da (1), Mi (2), Na (3), Ti (4), La (5).  Nada-nada pentatonik memiliki laras yang berbeda-beda, dan setiap laras memiliki suara khas tersendiri. Di era perubahan dan globalisasi yang semakin meningkat, kebudayaan Indonesia sedang mengalami masa krisis akibat dampak westernisasi yang berujung pada krisis budaya dan hilangnya popularitas nilai-nilai budaya menjadi suatu kesatuan bangsa.  Berdasarkan identifikasi dan analisis, pemanfaatan teknologi digital sampling berupa desain suara merupakan salah satu cara untuk melestarikan dan mempertahankan kebudayaan tradisional Jawa Barat di era revolusi industri 4.0. Sehingga menjadi sebuah produk alat musik virtual yang kemudian dapat digunakan sebagai sarana berkreasi dan menyajikan musik kepada masyarakat. Khususnya di Jawa Barat, masih kurangnya media dan teknologi yang menjelaskan informasi tentang alat musik tradisional Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi seberapa efektif VSTi (Virtual Studio Technology Instrument) Suling Sunda sebagai sarana pembelajaran dan pengenalan suling sunda kepada masyarakat yang belum memiliki pengetahuan musik sebelumnya. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan melalui kuesioner dan eksperimen tentang penggunaan suling digital. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa siswa terbantu dengan adanya pembelajaran suling digital ini dalam mempelajari suling sunda.  Kesimpulannya VSTi Suling Sunda terbukti sebagai media pembelajaran yang efektif untuk memperkenalkan Suling Sunda, bahkan bagi mereka yang tidak memiliki pengetahuan musik sebelumnya. Penggunaan teknologi digital dalam melestarikan budaya tradisional di era modern dapat menjadi salah satu cara menjaga nilai-nilai budaya yang mulai tergerus oleh globalisasi.

Abstract

Sosial-emosional menjadi aspek yang minim diperhatikan dalam pembelajaran musik didasari atas fokus berlebih terhadap penguasaan alat musik dalam capaiannya. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran kurikulum pendidikan musik dalam mendukung perkembangan sosial-emosional siswa di berbagai jenjang pendidikan. Melalui tinjauan literatur yang komprehensif, temuan menunjukkan bahwa musik berfungsi sebagai sarana ekspresi emosi yang efektif, membantu siswa menyalurkan dan mengelola perasaan mereka. Partisipasi dalam ansambel musik, seperti paduan suara dan orkestra, mengembangkan keterampilan sosial siswa, termasuk komunikasi dan kerjasama. Selain itu, keterlibatan dalam program musik berkontribusi pada peningkatan kesejahteraan emosional siswa, mengurangi gejala depresi dan meningkatkan kebahagiaan. Strategi pengajaran yang mengintegrasikan pembelajaran sosial-emosional (SEL) dalam pendidikan musik terbukti efektif dalam mendukung perkembangan holistik siswa. Namun, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi hambatan signifikan dalam implementasi, seperti kurangnya pelatihan guru dan keterbatasan sumber daya. Implikasi dari temuan ini menekankan perlunya pengembangan kurikulum musik yang lebih inklusif dan holistik serta peningkatan pelatihan dan dukungan sumber daya bagi guru. Rekomendasi untuk pembuat kebijakan dan pendidik mencakup peningkatan pelatihan guru dalam pendekatan pengajaran yang mendukung sosial-emosional, alokasi sumber daya yang memadai untuk program musik, dan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang dampak jangka panjang pendidikan musik terhadap perkembangan sosial-emosional siswa. Dengan demikian, pendidikan musik dapat menjadi alat yang kuat untuk mendukung perkembangan emosional dan sosial siswa, menciptakan individu yang seimbang secara akademis dan emosional.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the process of actor education, which includes materials, methods, and indicators of learning outcomes in the Celah-Celah Langit community as an effort to continuity theater arts education in Bandung. This research method used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, where the data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique of this research used interpretative analysis. The results of this study indicated that art education in the community had a curriculum structure designed based on the community owner, namely (1) Actorial learning material obtained from the historical experience of the Community founder, (2) lecture learning methods used in teaching, with a game model for learning material (3) indicators of learning achievement as an actor who lives the character and increases maturity.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the perceptions of TPACK integration among high school music teachers in Bandung, West Java province, Indonesia. This study used mixed-methods with a sequential explanatory design. The research subjects consist of 19 respondents. In the first phase, quantitative data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. In the second phase, in an effort to explore the results of the questionnaire, qualitatively conducted interviews as well as observations. The findings of this study showed that integration of each TPACK domain in music teaching was perceived as high confidence. Each domain, from one to another, positively correlated with varied interpretations. Demographic characteristics, both gender and tenure, did not show contrasting differences in confidence. This perception is the impact of the teacher education process that has been experienced, involvement in a number of trainings that have been followed, support from stakeholders in the procurement and enrichment of educational and technological resources, and the dynamics of the times that force them to be adaptive and innovative towards technological developments.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of the Joyful Learning method in drum lessons at Favore Music and to identify effective strategies in increasing student motivation and engagement. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with a participatory method, this study involved four drum students at Favore Music, Bandung City, through observation, structured interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed through processes of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while method triangulation was applied to ensure research validity. The results showed that the application of Joyful Learning through rhythmic exploration, improvisation, and dynamic interaction was able to significantly increase student engagement. Learning strategies such as the use of backing tracks, variations in sticking exercises with various objects, and the challenge of tempo changes and fill-ins create a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience. This approach not only deepens students' musical understanding but also increases their confidence and consistency in practicing. This study contributes to innovation in private music education and provides new insights into the effectiveness of experiential learning in improving the quality of drum learning.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the orienting, implementing, and assessing aspects constructed by music teachers in optimizing AI-powered music creation social media to amplify learning content. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through focus group discussions (FGDs) and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model with the stages, 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) data presentation, 4) conclusion drawing/verification. Data validity used triangulation techniques, including source and technical triangulation. The results show that, orientatively, the experience of interacting with technological advances and social dynamics has shaped the respondents' knowledge and understanding, not only on various types and functions, but also in determining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the platform. Implementatively, in line with the values of music education, the integration of a platform that amplifies content into learning is used to engage students' creative dimensions where cognitive, affective, and psychomotor are bound to the ethical principles of AI use and aesthetic criteria of music. By assessment, the involvement of peer teachers and students provided an important drive in establishing effectiveness, impact, and support from stakeholders. This study recommends that the development of AI used in creation is a new challenge for music teachers in strengthening the integrity of their professionalism. The utilization of these tools and resources makes it easier for them to be creative in clarifying and emphasizing the elements of musical sound to build effective and valuable learning.
