Abstract

Abstract Parenting styles play a crucial role in influencing the emotional development of children with special needs. The emotional responses of these children vary depending on their specific needs, which can be assessed based on emotional triggers and their reactions to those triggers. Parents must adopt appropriate parenting styles that align with their child's disabilities and conditions to ensure optimal emotional development in the future. This study aims to examine the relationship between parenting styles and the emotional development of children with special needs at SLB BC Fadhilah. This research employs a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational approach. The study sample consists of parents of children with special needs, using a total sampling technique with 40 respondents. Parenting styles were measured using the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire, while emotional development was assessed using an emotional development instrument adopted from Khotimah. Univariate analysis revealed that 20% of parents exhibited an authoritarian parenting style, while 80% adopted a democratic parenting style. Regarding emotional development, the majority of children were categorized as having moderate emotional development. The bivariate analysis, conducted using Spearman's test, showed that the correlation value between the democratic parenting style and children's emotional development was 0.248, while the correlation value for the authoritarian parenting style was also 0.248. These results indicate that there is no significant relationship between parenting styles and the emotional development of children with special needs. Abstract

Occupational health and safety (K3) is the main means of preventing work accidents. Apart from preventing accidents, K3 is also very important to ensure worker welfare, protect assets, and increase productivity. The implementation and application of occupational health are currently still not optimal as can be seen from the high number of work accidents. Based on the results of a survey by PPN 46 students in one of the garment home industries located in RW 021, Kota Wetan Subdistrict, data was found that the implementation of occupational health programs is currently still very lacking, marked by a lack of knowledge among home industry owners or workers regarding occupational health. Other data obtained showed that workers said they were used to lifting heavy loads on their shoulders compared to using tools, and all workers complained of musculoskeletal problems. The activity aims is to increase workers' knowledge in implementing ergonomic positions as an effort to prevent injuries at work. The activity stages start from problem identification, social preparation, and administrative preparation. Then it continues with the implementation and evaluation stages of activities. The results of the activity showed an increase in worker knowledge of 11.2 points. The average pretest score was 66.4 points and the average posttest score was 77.6 points. Activities ran smoothly according to the planned time. It is hoped that the health education activities that have been carried out can be continued periodically by the home industry owner and the Guntur Community Health Center.

Abstract

Stunting is one of the main nutritional problems that is still a public health challenge in Indonesia. Specific interventions carried out from the preconception period, including reproductive health education for brides-to-be, play an important role in efforts to prevent stunting. Objective: This program aims to increase the bride-to-be's understanding of the importance of reproductive health in reducing the risk of stunting in children in the future. Method: This program is carried out in the form of a Real Work Lecture (KKN) program in Jelegong Village, Rancaekek District, Bandung Regency. Activities include an initial survey of the bride-to-be, reproductive health education, and health checks that include checking hemoglobin (Hb) levels, blood pressure, and body mass index (BMI). Evaluation is carried out through pre-test and post-test to assess the improvement of participants' understanding of the material provided. Results: The results of the evaluation showed a significant increase in the bride-to-be's understanding of reproductive health and stunting prevention. The average pre-test score of 77.4 participants increased to 94.1 in the post-test. In addition, the results of the health examination revealed that 47.8% of the bride-to-be had low hemoglobin levels, 34.7% had an abnormally low BMI, and 4.3% showed high blood pressure, which has the potential to increase the risk of pregnancy with suboptimal outcomes. Conclusion: Reproductive health education programs for brides-to-be have proven to be effective in increasing understanding and awareness of the importance of pre-pregnancy health preparation as a preventive measure against stunting. Further efforts, such as regular health monitoring and improved access to reproductive health services, are needed to strengthen the long-term impact of these interventions.

Abstract

A healthy community is a group where residents play an active role in overcoming public health problems independently. Efforts that can be made to improve community health must start  with family health. Based on the results of a survey that has been conducted, most families in RW 06, Sukamentri Village, Garut City District, showed that they did not understand the function of the family in the health sector, especially efforts to modify the home environment to meet health requirements. Data shows waste disposal habits, as many as 59.56% use open trash bins. In waste management, the majority (79.78%) do not sort waste. Ventilation data shows that most houses (61.80%) have adequate ventilation. These data show that some families have not been able to maintain the health of their home environment properly, such as waste disposal, wastewater disposal, ventilation, and other environmental health problems. Considering these problems, interventions need to be carried out to overcome the problem of low implementation of family functions in modifying the home environment to meet health requirements. The purpose of the activity is to increase family knowledge in implementing family functions in the health sector. The stages of the activity start from identifying problems, social preparation, and administrative preparation. Then activity results with the implementation and evaluation stages of the activity. The results of the activity showed an increase in family knowledge by 27.1 points. The average pretest score was 52.3 points and the average posttest score was 79.4 points. The activity went smoothly according to the planned time. It is hoped that the activities that have been implemented can be continued periodically by the Guntur Health Center.
