Abstract

Deaths from cardiovascular disease can be prevented by addressing the early risks that arise, starting with the problem of hypertension. Most hypertension occurs in the elderly. The family has a very important role in preventing and controlling hypertension in the elderly. Nurses play a role in overcoming these problems by making the family the focus of services from the assessment stage to the implementation of interventions. The research design used was a literature study with a narrative review method. Databases used include Pubmed, Ebscohost, Emerald Insight, One search and Google Scholar search engine. Inclusion criteria related to the research theme, available full text, published in the last 10 years, in Indonesian or English with experimental research design. The results of the study obtained the results of 6 articles consisting of family support interventions in the form of providing health education with interactive methods and skills training regarding the prevention and control of hypertension in the elderly accompanied by family. This intervention can increase knowledge and behavior of prevention and control of hypertension in the elderly. For health workers it is recommended to optimize family empowerment in controlling hypertension and for families it would be better if they increase awareness and concern in helping the elderly control their hypertension. Further research is needed using more systematic research methods Abstrak: Kematian akibat penyakit kardiovaskular bisa dicegah dengan mengatasi risiko awal yang muncul yaitu mulai dari masalah hipertensi. Abstract

Background: Efforts to control the symptoms of shortness of breath in patients with heart disease can be done by practicing breathing techniques. Breathing exercise is a non-pharmacological therapy that can improve the ability of respiratory muscles to improve lung compliance in improving ventilation function and improving oxygenation. Purpose. This literature aims to summarize and explore the potential and level of ease in applying breathing exercises to reduce shortness of breath in patients with cardiovascular disease. Methods: This literature study used a scoping review design based on the PAGER framework. The identification of study results was carried out based on the PRISMA-ScR protocol   . Article searches were conducted through 5 databases, namely EBSCO-hosted Academic Science Complete, PubMed, Sage Journals, ScienceDirect, and Taylor and Francis. Results: A total of 8 studies found this rapid evidence review. The authors used the Randomized Control Trial (RCT) (6), cohort study (1), and quasi experimental study (1) to look at the potential of breathing exercises in reducing dyspnea in patients with cardiovascular disease. Conclusion: The application of breathing exercise interventions has proven useful in improving lung function and activating the parasympathetic system so that it also affects cardiovascular physiological function (systolic TD, diastolic TD, and HR)

Abstract

Thalassemia is a genetic blood disorder that can cause a heavy burden on families, especially parents whose children suffer from this condition. Parental involvement in preventing thalassemia in children is key, but there are many challenges to be faced. The aim of this study was to explore parental barriers in preventing recurrent thalassemia in children. This research uses a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. Researchers conducted interviews and focus group discussions with 15 parents of children with thalassemia at a hospital in West Java Province. Data was collected and then analyzed using a phenomenological approach to identify main themes. The results of the study show that the barrier for parents in preventing recurrent thalassemia is the belief that my bloodline is clean, because there are no plans to have more children, so lazy to do screening, busy time, fear, expensive cost, and desire to have another child . This study found that there are various psychosocial and economic factors that influence parents' decisions in preventing thalassemia in their children. Increased education and financial support can help reduce the barriers parents face. More inclusive health policies and social support programs designed to target these factors could improve thalassemia prevention efforts.

Abstract

Occupational health and safety (K3) is the main means of preventing work accidents. Apart from preventing accidents, K3 is also very important to ensure worker welfare, protect assets, and increase productivity. The implementation and application of occupational health are currently still not optimal as can be seen from the high number of work accidents. Based on the results of a survey by PPN 46 students in one of the garment home industries located in RW 021, Kota Wetan Subdistrict, data was found that the implementation of occupational health programs is currently still very lacking, marked by a lack of knowledge among home industry owners or workers regarding occupational health. Other data obtained showed that workers said they were used to lifting heavy loads on their shoulders compared to using tools, and all workers complained of musculoskeletal problems. The activity aims is to increase workers' knowledge in implementing ergonomic positions as an effort to prevent injuries at work. The activity stages start from problem identification, social preparation, and administrative preparation. Then it continues with the implementation and evaluation stages of activities. The results of the activity showed an increase in worker knowledge of 11.2 points. The average pretest score was 66.4 points and the average posttest score was 77.6 points. Activities ran smoothly according to the planned time. It is hoped that the health education activities that have been carried out can be continued periodically by the home industry owner and the Guntur Community Health Center.
