Abstract

This study examines the transformation of minority fiqh to majority fiqh with a focus on the ethics of interacting with non-Muslim neighbors in the Indonesian context. Minority fiqh (fiqh al-aqalliyyat) has traditionally emphasized flexibility, tolerance, and maslahah (public interest) for Muslims living as a minority. However, in the Indonesian context, where Muslims are the majority, a new paradigm is needed: majority fiqh that is not trapped in exclusivism, but rather oriented towards inclusiveness and social responsibility. Through a critical-transformative literary approach, this study examines normative texts (the Qur'an, Hadith, classical and contemporary fiqh books) as well as secondary literature (social research, academic works on Islam Nusantara, and theories of coexistence). The analysis is conducted using normative hermeneutics, a historical-sociological approach, and transformative synthesis. The results show that neighborly ethics such as mutual assistance, maintaining collective security, and sharing in social activities are the most tangible practical space for the implementation of inclusive majority fiqh. This study concludes that the transformation of fiqh from minority to majority is a shift from protective fiqh to collaborative fiqh. Majority fiqh is not merely about preserving Islamic identity, but also serves as a social force that strengthens interfaith harmony in a pluralistic society. Thus, majority fiqh can become the foundation for the development of applicable national fiqh in Indonesia.

Abstract

This article explores the relevance of Surah Al-An'ām verses 151-153 (Makkiyyah) and Surah Al-Baqarah verses 261-267 (Madaniyyah) in the context of character education using library research methods. Through literature analysis, this study identifies the ethical and moral values contained in both surahs and how these values can be integrated into the character education curriculum. Surah Al-An'ām emphasizes the importance of morals, justice, and social responsibility, while Surah Al-Baqarah highlights the values of caring, solidarity, and wise management of resources. The results of the study indicate that the application of Qur'anic values in education can strengthen the character of individuals and communities, and contribute to the formation of a more ethical and responsible society. This research is expected to provide insights for educators in implementing these values in educational environments.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the implementation includes planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling knowledge management at Ta'mirul Islam Junior High School in Surakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, namely by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model where the data is collected, then reduced, presented, and drawn verification conclusions with triangulation. The results of this study show that the planning stage is carried out during the year-end meeting activities and routine meetings every week, and then a policy related to knowledge management is produced. Teachers prepare teaching plans or lesson plans according to agreed policies. Then the organizing stage is realized through the formation of a clear division of tasks and authority structure, the committee of an intracurricular and extracurricular activity, guidance from the principal, and the preparation of teaching materials by the teacher. Furthermore, the Actuating stage tends to be the process of transferring knowledge between teachers and students such as teachers conducting KBM activities using methods/strategies according to the conditions of the students and the last is Controlling with a two-way evaluation such as the principal assessing the performance of school components and teachers evaluating the performance of the school

Abstract

This study discusses the epistemological dynamics between textuality and contextuality in the interpretation of the Qur'an, a classic yet still relevant theme in the field of tafsir studies. The paradigm difference between textual and contextual exegetes illustrates two major currents of Islamic thought: one emphasizes the integrity of the text as absolute divine revelation, while the other seeks to present the message of the Qur'an in an ever-changing social context. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review method, supported by integrative hermeneutic analysis that combines Fazlur Rahman's double movement theory, al-Syatibi's maqaṣid al-shari‘ah, and Abdullah Saeed's ideas on contextualizing the Qur'an. The results of the study show that the textual-contextual dichotomy is actually illusory: the two must be combined so that interpretation remains faithful to divine meaning while being responsive to human reality. This integration gives rise to a transformative interpretation paradigm that is relevant to the challenges of religion, social ethics, and national life today. Thus, the interpretation of the Qur'an does not stop at theological understanding but develops into a social praxis that fosters justice, moderation, and universal humanity.

Abstract

This study attempts to reread Al-Ghazali's Tahafut al-Falasifah not merely as a theological polemic text, but as a critique of scientific paradigms that has profound relevance to modern philosophy of science. Al-Ghazali's critique of rationalist claims, particularly regarding causality, the eternity of the world, and the limitations of reason, is positioned as an attempt to shake the established epistemic foundations of his time. A qualitative-comparative approach is used by analyzing the primary text of Tahafut hermeneutically, then connecting it with the thoughts of modern philosophers such as David Hume, Karl Popper, and Thomas Kuhn. The results of the study show that Al-Ghazali had already presented an epistemological awareness that aligns with the discourse of the paradigm shift in science. He emphasized that causal relationships are not absolute certainties, but rather habits that can change according to transcendental will. This perspective finds resonance in the development of contemporary science, particularly in quantum physics and the philosophy of science, which emphasize the tentative nature of knowledge. Furthermore, Al-Ghazali's paradigm critique also carries ethical implications: knowledge must always be based on moral values and spiritual awareness to avoid being trapped in scientific arrogance. Thus, Tahafut al-Falasifah can be understood as a laboratory for epistemological criticism that remains relevant for building a paradigm of modern science that is humble, reflective, and humanity-oriented. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating revelation, reason, and science in formulating a new direction for Islamic philosophy and its contribution to the global discourse on the philosophy of science.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of the hadith ecosystem in the era of vertical technology through genealogical, epistemological, and practical analyses of the use of Jawami‘ al-Kalim as a digital literacy tool. Changes in the communication landscape from a linear pattern to a vertical pattern, characterised by the dominance of algorithms, accelerated information circulation, and the fragmentation of religious authority, require the repositioning of the hadith treasury in the digital space. Through a qualitative-hermeneutic approach, this study traces the conceptual roots of Jawami‘ al-Kalim as a form of prophetic meaning that combines concise wisdom with ethical depth, then examines how these values can work in a digital architecture rife with misinformation, distortion of authority, and commodification of religiosity. Genealogical analysis shows that the digitisation of hadiths does not merely transfer texts from manuscripts to screens, but also shifts the patterns of epistemic interaction between sanad, matan, and users. Epistemological findings reveal that Jawami‘ al-Kalim can function as a moral filter that guides verification, simplifies messages, and strengthens the ethics of sharing in online spaces. In practical terms, this study formulates a framework for a ‘Digital Hadith Ecosystem’ that places Jawami‘ al-Kalim as the foundation of prophetic wisdom-based digital literacy, as well as a navigation tool for managing algorithmic information flows in a critical, moderate, and responsible manner. Thus, this study reinforces the urgency of integrating hadith science, digital technology, and public ethics in building a more civilised Islamic information civilisation.

Abstract

This article discusses the cosmos as a divine text by reconstructing the epistemology of Qur'anic interpretation in light of modern astrophysics. This approach emphasizes the integration of revelation, empirical observation, and philosophical reflection in understanding the phenomena of the universe. By examining Qur'anic cosmological verses hermeneutically and linking them to contemporary astrophysical discoveries, such as stellar evolution, black holes, cosmic background radiation, and the large-scale structure of the universe. The method used is qualitative with a philosophical hermeneutic approach model, where the primary sources are cosmological verses such as (Q.S. Ali 'Imran: 190), (Q.S. Yasin: 40), (Q.S. al-Dzariyat: 47), (Q.S. al-Anbiya’: 30), (Q.S. al-Qamar: 49), (Q.S. al-Hadid: 4), to (Q.S. al-Furqan: 59). The secondary sources are journals, books, or other relevant research. After the data is collected, a comparative thematic content analysis is conducted using a triangulation model to ensure data validity, and conclusions are drawn.  The study's results indicate that revelation and science complement each other in building a holistic, transdisciplinary, and relevant understanding of modern science. The proposed Integrative Cosmological Interpretation Model combines the bayani (textual), burhani (rational-empirical), and irfani (spiritual-intuitive) approaches, so that Qur'anic interpretation is not only descriptive, but also prescriptive, philosophical, and ethical. The epistemic and philosophical implications of this research open new perspectives in Qur'anic studies, strengthen the dialogue between science and revelation, and emphasize the cosmos as a medium for human intellectual and spiritual reflection.

Abstract

This research begins with the realization that the Qur'an, as divine revelation, possesses both finality and openness. Its finality guarantees the authority and authenticity of God's message, while its openness allows the text to continue speaking to humanity across time and space. Using a hermeneutic approach, this research seeks to uncover the dialectic between the two in order to discover the meaning of revelation that is relevant to the various challenges of our time. Hermeneutics is positioned not only as an interpretive method but also as an epistemological framework that places the reader in a critical dialogue with the text, its historical context, and contemporary reality. The results show that applying the hermeneutics of revealed truth can prevent two extremes: the rigid consolidation of meaning within a single historical horizon, and the detachment of the text from its divine roots through overly liberal interpretations. By emphasizing the universality of Qur'anic values such as justice, mercy, and moral responsibility, hermeneutics presents an Islam that remains relevant. This relevance is evident in its ability to contribute to modern issues such as social justice, gender equality, the environmental crisis, and intercivilizational dialogue. Thus, this research confirms that the hermeneutics of revealed truth is a constructive effort to maintain the sacredness of the text while simultaneously revitalizing its transformative power. The Quran exists not only as a spiritual heritage but also as a source of inspiration for the development of a just, inclusive, and global humanity-oriented civilization.

Abstract

The integrative-interconnective paradigm in Islamic education emerges as a response to the dichotomy between religious and scientific knowledge. This paper aims to explore the philosophical foundations, epistemological structure, and practical implications of this paradigm in the development of Islamic education in Indonesia. Using a library research method, this study analyzes various scientific sources, including works by Amin Abdullah, Al-Faruqi, and Al-Attas. Findings show that the integrative-interconnective paradigm encourages the unity of knowledge based on wahdat al-'ilm, which bridges bayani, burhani, and 'irfani epistemologies. This paradigm has been applied in several Islamic higher education institutions, such as UIN Sunan Kalijaga and UIN Jakarta, through curriculum reform, research integration, and the development of interdisciplinary centers. This study concludes that the paradigm offers an epistemological and practical framework that strengthens Islamic education toward holistic and transformative learning.
