Abstract

This study examines economics students' perceptions of academic dishonesty and their willingness to engage in whistleblowing within higher education institutions. Academic dishonesty remains a persistent issue in universities, potentially undermining students' ethical development and professional integrity. While prior research has extensively explored the prevalence and causes of academic dishonesty, limited attention has been given to students' reluctance to report such misconduct. This study employs a descriptive quantitative approach and collects data from 160 economics students in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) using purposive sampling. The findings indicate that the majority of students have engaged in various forms of academic dishonesty, including cheating, plagiarism, using unauthorized resources, and paying others to complete assignments. Despite recognizing the ethical implications, students demonstrate low willingness to report dishonest behavior. Key barriers include institutional shortcomings, such as the absence of a clear whistleblowing mechanism, lack of protection for whistleblowers, and fear of retaliation or social ostracism. The study emphasizes the need for a structured and confidential whistleblowing system to foster academic integrity. Universities should implement secure reporting channels, strengthen ethical education, and cultivate an institutional culture that supports honesty and accountability. By addressing these challenges, higher education institutions can enhance students' ethical awareness and commitment to academic integrity, ultimately improving the quality of education.

Abstract

Regional Innovation System (SIDa) plays a crucial role in enhancing knowledge-based economic competitiveness at the regional level. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach to explore the concept of the Triple Helix in advancing regional innovation and the role of accounting in strengthening small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Through a review of existing literature, this research aims to identify the interactions between academia, government, and industry in creating an inclusive and sustainable innovation ecosystem. The study finds that the success of the Triple Helix collaboration depends on the role of government as a facilitator, universities as sources of innovation, and SMEs as users of technology. The Triple Helix model provides a strong conceptual foundation for understanding and developing an effective SIDa. A successful SIDa heavily relies on strong synergy and collaboration among universities, industry, and government at the regional level. Accounting can empower SMEs by providing sound business knowledge, which is essential for building partnerships and accessing funding. Accounting thus serves as a critical foundation for the growth and sustainability of SMEs within the regional innovation ecosystem. This article is expected to contribute to the formulation of strategic policies aimed at strengthening SIDa through a collaborative approach.

Abstract

Hemoglobin is the main element of red blood cells that functions as a conjugated protein to transport oxygen and carbon dioxide. Hemoglobin levels below normal limits can cause anemia. Indonesia is one of the countries with a fairly high rate of anemia. Anemia is a common health problem among adolescent girls, mainly caused by iron deficiency which is triggered by menstruation and high nutritional needs. Currently, a non-pharmacological approach is an alternative to increase hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls, one of which is by consuming beetroot juice. Indonesia is one of the countries with relatively high anemia rates. Beetroot is rich in iron, folate, and vitamin C which can increase hemoglobin levels in the blood. The type of research used was a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pretest and posttest design, namely providing intervention by giving beetroot juice for 7 days in the morning to students in the eastern region who live in Condongcatur, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta. The results of this study were explained using SPSS with a Paired sample t-test with a p value <0.05 and obtained H0 = 0.024 and H7 = 0.001. This means that the sig value <0.05 indicates an effect on hemoglobin levels after the intervention. Before the intervention, the average was 11.1 gr/dl and after the intervention, the average was 12.8 gr/dl. These results indicate that consumption of beetroot juice can significantly increase hemoglobin levels in adolescent girls with anemia.
