Abstract

Teachers and students have difficulty in observing protist spesies. The basic competence 3.5 oblige thestudents to apply the principle of protist grouping classification carefully and systematically. Therefore, thereshould be a media of culture protist along with its way and the students’ observation worksheet for protists. This research is aimed to develop the valid and effective culture media of protist for class practice activities inProtist Material. This research used Research and Development (R&D) method. Small scale trials weredone to 10 students using purposive random sampling. Big scale trials were done to 64 students. The validityof protist culture was scored using validity sheets by validator, then was analyzed in percentage description. The effectivity score of protist culture media was obtained based students’ processing skills score. The result ofthe research showed that protist culture media was considered valid by experts with the average score of90,1%. The observation of students’ skills showed that both classes of the research has classical grade of85,3% and 87,1%. Based on the results, it can be concluded that protist culture media with its guidance andstudents’ observation worksheet was valid and effective to be used by Senior High School students.

Abstract

This research aims at finding out the effectiveness of guided-inquiry learning model with Natural Environmment Exploration (JAS) approach on students’ learning result of environmental pollution material. This recent study was conducted in MAN 1 Pati in the odd semester in academic year 2017/2018. The research design applied is non-equivalent control group design. The population for this research is the whole students in X MIA MAN 1 Pati which is divided into 5 classes, while the sample taken for this research was X MIA 1 and X MIA 4 selected by using purposive sampling technique. The result of this study showed that 86.96% of students in experimental class achieved score > 75 and there was a difference of mean in the posttest for experimental class and control class i.e conseutively 85 and 75.19. The result of t-test showed tcount 0.000<0.05 which means there is a signifficant difference between control and experimental class. It also achieved N-Gain > 0.3 with the mean by 0.54. For the class control, 65.38% of students accomplished > 75 and N-Gain 0.14. Based on the research result, it can be inferred that guided-inquiry learning with JAS approach is effective to improve students’ learning result for the subject material of environmental pollution.

Abstract

The results of the Biology teacher's interview at SMA Negeri 1 Petarukan shows that learning material for environmental change is carried out using varied lectures. The learning makes students less active in learning, so that student learning outcomes are low. This is indicated by the completeness of student learning outcomes in the two classes that are taught using varied lectures are 45% and 50% respectively. Learning about environmental change material that has been carried out has not linked the material to environmental care. One learning model that can be applied to improve learning outcomes and environmental care attitudes is problem based learning (PBL). This study aims to determine the effect of the application of PBL learning material on environmental changes to learning outcomes and environmental care attitudes. This research is a Quasi-Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample in this study is class X MIPA 1 (experiment) and X MIPA 2 (control) which is taken using objective sampling technique. The results of the t-test show that t-count = 3.28 > t-table (df = 68) = 1.99 means that the learning outcomes of the experimental class on environmental change material are higher than the control class. The N-gain test results show that the experimental class obtains the N-gain category with high criteria, while the control class obtained the N-gain category with moderate criteria. The classical completeness of learning outcomes in the experimental class is 91.1% while the control class is 75%. PBL learning can also foster an attitude of caring for the students as indicated by the results of the environmental care questionnaire obtaining very good criteria. Based on the results of the study it is concluded that learning material changes in the environment of the PBL model had a significant effect on student learning outcomes in SMAN 1 Petarukan.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the difference of students’ activity and learning outcome between students who do problem based teaching model practicum method and students who do problem based teaching model video observation method. This study is quasi-experimental with posttest-only design. Population of this research is the whole of grade VIII students. The samples of the study are VIIID (experimental class 1) and VIIIC (experimental class 2) which are taken using cluster random sampling technique. The result of this study is the class who did problem based teaching model practicum method got post-test result 77,31. While the class who did problem based teaching model video observation method got 70,75. According to Mann-Whitney test with Asymp. Sig (2-tailed) 0,002 < 0,05, it can be assumed that there is significant difference on students’ learning outcome between class who did problem based teaching model practicum method and class who did problem based teaching model video observation method. The average of students who are very active and active on the experiment class 1 is 85,15% and experiment class 2 is 78,90%. Based on the study result, it shows that there is difference of activity and learning outcome between students who did problem based teaching model practicum method and problem based teaching model video observation method.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Bioedutainment strategy with Biofun Card's Support on learning outcomes and caring attitude for invertebrate diversity. This research is a Quasi-Experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study is all students of class X MIPA of Sint Louis Semarang High School in academic year 2017/2018 which is consisting of two classes. The sample is class X MIPA 1 as the experimental class and class X MIPA 2 as the control class which is determined by the saturated sample technique. The results show that the experimental class student learning outcomes are better than the control class. The experimental class has an average learning outcome of 84.37 with classical completeness of ≥ 85% which reached 93.10%, while the control class is 82.76%. The results of the t-test show tcount 0,000 <0.05,. This indicates that there are significant differences between the control and the experimental classes. N-Gain for the experimental class is ≥ 0.3 with an average of 0.70, while the control class is 0.51. The effectiveness level of the application of Bioedutainment strategy with Biofun Card's support shows students' caring scores of 82.76% (very caring). Students give positive responses to the application of Bioedutainment strategy with Biofun Card's support with an average of 88.95%. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that learning uses the Bioedutainment strategy with Biofun Card's support in invertebrate material to be effective in improving learning outcomes and caring for invertebrate diversity.

Abstract

As part of the culture, sport has a variety of forms and meaning that undergo changes from time to time and from society to society. This study is intended to describe the accessability of public spaces, the adaptation patterns of the use of public spaces by participants of ‘sport for all’, forms of interaction, communication and image of “sport for all”, and sociocultural factors that support “sport for all” within the car free day program in Simpang Lima Complex. A phenomenologic naturalistic approach by using a multi-site design was used. The subjects consisted of heads of Semarang City Services, and users of car free day activities. The data were collected by using observation, documents, and interviews. The results show that first, public spaces are external and accessible by all people and consist of parks, city square, roads, and sidewalks. Second, the users of “sport for all” adapt to the available spaces through car free day activities. Third, the symbols of interaction, communication and image of “sport for all” are similar including accessories, fashion and identities to visually demonstrate their community or group existence. Fourth, physical, social, ecologic, and economic aspects of the sociocultural factors support “sport for all”.
