Abstract

Farmers in specific region can play a crucial role in preventing the extinction of rare rice varieties by maintaining their commitment to local rice production. This not only contributes to the economic stability of the community but also necessitates exploration efforts to identify and gather specific plant species at risk of extinction. This study employs a descriptive research design to identify, gather, and compare the relationships between local rice genotypes in the Kuantan Singingi regency. The survey method utilizes a planned sample of rice seeds. The exploration process involves observing geographic coordinate locations, collecting local rice seeds, and examining grain and rice morphology based on Bioversity International, IRRI, and WARDA standards from 2007. The Kuantan River, with an altitude ranging from 28.95 to 61.56 meters above sea level, is prone to frequent flooding. A morphological study of grains reveals that, out of 26 local rice genotypes, one pair exhibits the highest similarity rate of 71% when compared to more diverse types. Notably, the white sironda rice from Pulau Madina village in Kuantan Hilir district and pandan wangi rice from Pauh Angit village in Pangean district are identified as the most identical genotypes. By identifying and preserving unique and highly-potential indigenous rice genotypes, this research significantly contributes to the enhancement of food stability, rural economy, and genetic resilience of rice plasma in Indonesia.

Abstract

Rice is Indonesians' main source of nourishment. Farmers get the seeds for growing their paddy crops from both non -local rice genotypes and local genotypes. The two main consideration factors influencing the decision to use the seed varieties are high production of the varieties and customer preferences. Local rice genotypes in Kuantan Singingi Regency have potential to fulfill the เว็บสล็อต | R4shub requirements. This study aimed to ascertain the response the regional rice genotypes in Kuantan Singingi Regency to planting system technology. The experiment was designed in Split Plot Design in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), the main plot consisted of multiple cultivation systems (Factor S) as follows: Tile system, Jajar legowo system (2:1), and Rice Intensification systems. The following genotypes were then employed in subplots using a completely randomized design (CRD): Kuning Umur Panjang (G07), Samo Putiah (G09), Limbayang (G10), Singgam Putih (G14), Pulut Kari (G16) and Kuning (G18). The findings showed that.local rice genotypes responded differently to the planting system technology. Limbayang genotype had dry milled grain weight per clump of 105.57 grams, while the Singgam Putih genotype had plant height of 141.00 cm. The rice intensification system (SRI) gave the best growth and production to Limbayang and Singgam Putih. Abstract

In Indonesia, chili is a valuable horticultural commodity. On the other hand, chili productivity in West Sumatra shifted from time to time. One of the factors causing unstable chili production is pests. Genotype, environment, and the interaction of genotype and environment all impact plant productivity. Plant productivity increases as the environmental conditions surrounding the plant are favorable, and nutrient availability is sufficient to meet the needs of plant life. Environmental factors such as nutrient availability and genetic factors such as plant genotypes significantly impact crop production. The aim of the study was to determine the best growth and yield of several genotypes of local West Sumatra chili fertilized with potassium at various doses. The study employed a completely randomized design (CRD), 2 factor,  replicated three times. The first factor was the chili genotype consisting of 6 local red chilies ie. Pesisir Selatan, Ateng Pasaman Barat, Dhamasraya 2, Ateng Maninjau,  Tanah Datar and Kampung Manangah Solok Selatan. The second factor was the dose of potassium fertilizer (K2O) consisted of 180 kg/ha, 240 kg/ha and 300 kg/ha. The native chili genotype Ateng Pasaman Barat produced the highest crop yield when fertilized with potassium at a dosage of 300 kg/ha. A potassium fertilizer dose of 300 kg/ha generated the best growth and yield, as shown by higher plant height, number of fruits per plant, and fruit weight per plant. Keywords: local chili, genotype, potassium, plant growth.

Abstract

This study investigates the theoretical frameworks of innovation adoption and farmer behavior within the context of Indonesian agriculture, with the aim of exploring their implications for the advancement of the agricultural sector. Theories of innovation adoption and farmer behavior provide essential lenses through which the dynamics of technological uptake and decision-making processes in agriculture can be understood. Employing a literature review methodology, this paper analyzes a wide range of sources, including peer-reviewed journals, reports, academic textbooks, and recent statistical data relevant to both theoretical models. The analysis reveals that the adoption of agricultural technological innovations is shaped by a combination of internal factors—such as farmer demographics (age, education, experience), attitudes toward risk, and perceptions of innovation—and external factors, such as access to information, financial resources, and institutional support. A thorough understanding of these elements is expected to serve as a strong basis for developing effective strategies and policies aimed at enhancing the adoption of agricultural technologies in Indonesia.

Abstract

Purpose: The adoption of agricultural innovations in Indonesia faces numerous challenges. However, with appropriate approaches, there is significant potential to improve both productivity and the welfare of farmers. This paper aims to analyze the key determinants influencing farmers’ acceptance of new technologies or innovations, as well as the factors that may accelerate their adoption. Methodology: This study employs a literature review approach, analyzing various sources including academic journals, reports, and statistical data related to innovation adoption theories and farmers' behavioral patterns. Results: The study identifies a complex interplay of factors that hinder the adoption of agricultural innovations among Indonesian farmers. Key barriers include limited access to relevant information, low digital literacy, high financial costs, mismatch between innovation characteristics and local conditions, inadequate agricultural extension services, and farmers’ dependence on traditional markets. Additionally, institutional weaknesses—such as poor coordination among government bodies, ineffective policies, limited infrastructure, and the exclusion of farmers from participatory processes—further exacerbate adoption challenges. These findings emphasize that technological solutions alone are insufficient; addressing adoption gaps requires systemic improvements in policy, support services, and farmer engagement. Findings: Reveals significant outcomes from the research that contribute new insights to the field of study. This can include innovations, discoveries, or previously unknown information. Novelty: This research introduces a comprehensive, multi-dimensional framework for understanding the barriers to agricultural innovation adoption in Indonesia by integrating technological, socio-economic, and institutional factors, rather than examining them in isolation. Originality: The study uniquely contributes to existing literature by synthesizing recent empirical evidence and theoretical insights to highlight context-specific challenges faced by Indonesian farmers, and by proposing actionable, collaborative strategies that link innovation design with local socio-cultural realities and policy reform—an approach rarely explored in previous studies on agricultural technology adoption. Conclusion: Addressing the challenges of agricultural innovation adoption requires collaborative efforts among stakeholders. Strategies should focus on improving access to information, providing financial support, tailoring innovations to local conditions, strengthening the role of agricultural extension agents, increasing farmer motivation, and developing partnerships and market access.

Abstract

Salacca (Salacca edulis L.) is a tropical plant with a high economic value. The sexes of salacca can be grouped as dioecious, monoecious, dan hermaphrodite. Farmer's success in cultivation is especially determined by the male to female ratio. The present ratio of male and female plants is 1:4. Determining sex based on morphological characteristics is not effective and difficult for young plants (seedlings), also to lysozim marker and chromosome. Marker Assisted Selection is a strategy to determine sex using a marker. Random Amplifed Polymorfism DNA (RAPD) is an amplification technique that uses markers. Of 305 primers tested, 4 primers, OPO-17 produced 297 bp product, OPAP-20 produced 554 bp as the specific fragment for the female and UBC-454 produced 934 bp as the specific fragment for the female and UBC-454 produced 946 bp as male, primer UBC-78 with the size of fragment 562 bp as the specific fragment for the female.
