Abstract

Currently smoked fish is known as the superior cuisine of Prigi Beach, Trenggalek Regency. The local government in Trenggalek Regency was quite successful in empowering the community around Prigi Beach through training in producing smoked fish while at the same time utilizing abundant fish resources. However, their production and marketing processes were still conventional that which negatively impacted the profit since the products were deteriorated before they were all sold due to the limited targeted consumers that were Prigi Beach tourists. This community service offered solutions and methods such as counseling and practices regarding healthy, preserved, and safe storage for smoked fish process based on the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and digital marketing training continued with gifting packing and freezer tools to one group of artisans. This activity was joined by 20 artisans in Tasikmadu Village, Prigi Bay, Watulimo District, Trenggalek Regency. After one month of monitoring and guidance by the community service team, artisans could improve their products into healthy, preserved, and safe products. Also, their market is widened not only limited to the beach, but also through Instagram and other social media. Thus, their profit gradually increased since August.

Abstract

Training students' critical thinking skills cannot be done with one-way learning because learning focuses only on the teacher. The inquiry learning model is very common for teachers because it involves students directly to conduct inquiries. This study aims to determine the influence of the inquiry learning model in chemistry learning to improve students' critical thinking. This study used the SLR (Systematic et al.) method. Data sources were obtained from articles, research journals, and electronic databases such as ERIC, Google Scholar, and Taylor & Francis. The variables used in this study are the dependent variable, namely the ability to think critically, and the independent variable, namely the inquiry learning model. Data is obtained through literature studies by capturing reputable and accredited national and international articles following the criteria studied. Twelve articles were obtained and then analyzed one by one. Each article briefly describes the results of its research. Student success with the inquiry learning model is seen from the increase in students' critical thinking skills. The study found that the inquiry learning model increased student competence, interest in learning, motivation, and critical thinking skills. The inquiry learning model can create a more active learning atmosphere to make learning more meaningful.

Abstract

Blended learning is the same as hybrid learning, which combines the concept of traditional school teaching with online learning through personalized instruction for an entire group of students. The Systematic Literature Review follows the structure of the PRISMA framework (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta Analysis). The literature search was carried out in the web database eric.go.ed under the keyword “Digital Literacy”. Based on the extraction, 40 articles were selected for analysis. The following results were obtained: (1) The research trend on the impact of digital skills on blended learning is still dominated by the social science field; (2) The inclusion of digital devices in blended learning is dominated by the use of LMS (Learning Management System); several studies have reported combining the use of LMS with metaverse devices such as augmented reality; (3) The analysis of the differences in digital skills before and after the Covid-19 pandemic can be seen based on the use of digital platforms.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of the Argument-Driven Inquiry instruction (ADI-Based Instruction) in thermochemistry on students' critical thinking skills. This study applied the one group pretest-posttest type of pre-experiment design. The subjects of this study were 71 eleven grade students of Public Senior High School of Ambulu Jember on academic year of 2022/2023. The instrument, namely the critical thinking ability test on thermochemistry, was developed by the researchers based on Ennis' critical thinking ability framework. This test consists of 10 valid items with a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.782. The results showed that thermochemistry instruction carried out using ADI instructional model improve students' critical thinking skills with an N-gain of 0.731 (high category) and Cohen's d-effect size of 1.023 (large effect category) with an intermediate reliability of 0.619 (good categories). These results indicate that ADI-based instruction on thermochemistry can improve students' critical thinking skills. The implication of this study is that ADI-based instruction can be applied to other subjects who have the same characteristics of thermochemistry, namely having contextual, factual, conceptual, procedural, and metacognitive knowledge.

Abstract

Chemistry MGMP teachers in Tulungagung Regency need more knowledge to improve their competence in preparing literacy and numeracy-based chemistry AKM questions. This chemistry AKM participates in the National Assessment, so teachers need training and assistance in creating chemistry AKM questions and instruments. This community service activity aims to strengthen teacher competence in evaluating chemistry learning and providing strategies for preparing AKM chemistry questions. Community-based research (CBR) methods were conducted through training and practice involving 37 chemistry teacher participants. The service results showed an increase in N-Gain of 0.7, which was in the high category, so the teachers could write AKM chemistry questions based on reading literacy and numeracy. The questionnaire results also show that this community service activity is beneficial and provides valuable experience for teachers, with 90% of teachers answering strongly agree and considering that this training activity has been carried out.
