Abstract

Truancy behavior is a form of undiscipline or student violation of school rules of conduct which will harm themselves and others such as leaving behind subject matter.In today's world, the phenomenon of truancy that occurs in the field is abundant. Based on observations and interviews that have been conducted with the school and the students themselves, truancy behavior is based on two factors, namely internal factors such as physical and psychological conditions, the second is external factors such as family and economy, society, and school. Therefore, the problem that will be examined in this research is, "Truancy Behavior in terms of Causative Factors at SMPN 13 Padang". This type of research is a descriptive study using quantitative methods. The subjects in this study were 40 students of class VIII and IX 2020/2021 SMPN 13 Padang, subject taking was done by selecting respondents who were sampled based on certain characteristics. Collecting data using a questionnaire about truancy behavior in terms of the factors that cause students in class VIII and IX at SMPN 13 Padang Likert scale model. The results showed that: Internal factors, namely (1) Physical conditions affect students not to come to school. (2) Psychological conditions influence students not to come to school. External factors, namely (1) family and economic conditions ((a) Family conditions influence students not to come to school. (b) Economic conditions affect students not to come to school). (2) Community conditions influence students not to come to school. (3) School conditions influence students not to come to school. Based on the findings of this study, it is hoped that counseling teachers can provide counseling guidance services in accordance with the problems faced by students to minimize truancy.

Abstract

The problem of bullying has increased in recent years, especially for vocational students in the province of West Sumatra, this study will examine the problems in how the characteristics, factors, impacts, and efforts have been made by BK teachers and the school in overcoming bullying behavior. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. The data of this research are counseling guidance teachers, students of Vocational Schools of West Sumatra Province. Data collection techniques, interviews, through questionnaires and research results, bullying that occurs in vocational students in the province of West Sumatra is in the moderate category with a percentage of 41%. Guidance and counseling has an important function in overcoming problems that occur, with various counseling guidance services expected to be able to prevent bullying from occurring in the school environment.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a street child who conducts learning activities on the sidelines of his work as a busker. This study aims to describe the picture of: the purpose of busking activities while learning, busking time while learning, the media used in busking while learning, the methods used in busking while learning, the response of the busking environment while learning and the future hopes of busking while learning as a street child. This research uses a qualitative approach with a type of case study. The subject of the research is a street child who does busking while learning. Information is captured by the snowball technique. Data collection is done through participatory observation and interviews. Data analysis is done by selecting data, compiling data into appropriate variables, and writing narratives. It was found that the purpose of his study was clearly stated, namely to continue his education at a higher level in the midst of the economic conditions of his parents who were so difficult and lacking, the time spent doing busking while learning did not interfere with their study time at school or when they were studying in the Imam Bonjol Padang Green Field, learning media used in completing homework assignments given by the teacher at a carton of used mineral water used as a base in doing work, while other media, magazines and newspapers which he often uses as reading material to increase his knowledge, methods learning that is used is question and answer, environmental responses to activities that are often carried out subject is very positive, some are positive and some are negative, the subject's hopes are expressed with an attitude that does not want to simply give up on fate and poverty situation

Abstract

School discipline is very important to implement because it can provide support for the creation of behavior that is not deviant, encourage students to do good and right, help students understand and adapt to the demands of their environment and stay away from doing things that are prohibited by the school, students learn to live with habits - good and beneficial habits for him and his environment. However, the reality in the field found many students who violated the rules that had been made by the school. For this reason the aim of this research is to describe student discipline, locus of control, and how the relationship between locus of control and student discipline.This type of research is descriptive correlational which aims to find facts in accordance with the actual situation. The research subjects were 100 class VIII and IX students at SMP Negeri 13 Padang. The instrument of data collection is the student disciplinary questionnaire that uses a Likert scale and inventory locus of control that uses standard techniques that have been adopted from Dr. Marjohan M.Pd., Kons. Data was processed using descriptive statistical analysis techniques and to test the relationship of data was analyzed using the Pearson Product Moment formula with the Statical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) program version 20.0. The results of this study reveal that: (1) locus of control has an internal locus of control tendency, (2) Discipline of students is in the medium category, (3) there is a significant negative relationship between locus of control and student discipline in SMP Negeri 13 Padang with a significant value of 0.045. Based on the findings of this study, it is expected that BK teachers or counselors can provide assistance in the form of Counseling Guidance services.

Abstract

Career readiness is very important for a students future career success. Career readiness is how much individuals are willing to exert themselves to achieve career goals. Based on the phenomena in the field, there are still  many college graduates who work not according to their study background, after completing their undergraduate education, they are not ready to face the competition in the world of work. This paper gives a theoretical  overview of the  careereadiness of college students. This research is a literature study, a method used to collect data or sources related to the topic raised in a study. The data about the determinant factors that affect career readiness that have been obtained are then analyzed using descriptive analysis methods.

Abstract

Education carried out today faces many problems and obstacles, including the influence of increasingly rapid and advanced technology. The invention of information technology is developing on a mass scale. Technology has changed the shape of society, from the local world community to the global world community. In the task of adolescent development, the tendency of adolescents should be able to achieve emotional independence and socializing with peers and the opposite sex, but the reality on the ground there are still many teenagers who have not been able to achieve these developmental tasks. In the learning process many teenagers who feel unable to face the academic demands they find in the world of education and experience stress, most of them relieve stress by playing online games. It is hoped that in this study, students improve the management of academic stress that is still poor and understand the impact of playing online games. Counseling teachers are expected to be able to provide input for schools to develop a counseling program in developing steps to prevent the occurrence of academic stress experienced by students, as well as making preventive efforts to the intensity of students in playing online games. The next researcher is expected to study and research more about academic stress and the intensity of playing online games by taking different aspects, as well as a larger number of samples.This type of research is classified as correlational descriptive. The population of this study is the students of SMA PGRI 2 Padang in the academic year 2019/2020 with 180 students with a sample of 64 students. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire. Data analysis techniques used the Pearson Product Moment formula with the help of the Statistical Product and Service Solution for Windows version 20 program. The research findings show that (1) the level of academic stress of SMA PGRI 2 Padang students is in the medium category, (2) The level of intensity in playing online games of PGRI 2 Padang high school students is in the moderate category, (3) There is a significant relationship between academic stress and intensity play online games for high school students of PGRI 2 Padang with Pearson correlation 0.532 and a significant level of 0.000 with a fairly strong relationship level.

Abstract

Interest is an impetus that creates a great desire in students to continue their education to secondary school. Interest consist of two aspects, namely cognitive aspects and affective aspects. This study aims to see (1) a description of student interest in continuing education to secondary school seen from the cognitive aspect, namely with regard to the need for information and interest in secondary school, (2) the description of student interest in continuing education to secondary school is seen from the affective aspect, namely with regard to parental attention and support, teacher attention and support, and peer attention and support. This type of research is a descriptive study using quantitative methods. The study population was 238 students who were in class IX at SMP Negeri 15 Padang who were registered in the 2020/2021 academic year, with a total sample of 149 students who were selected using proportional random sampling technique.The research findings reveal that (1) students interest in continuing education to secondary school seen from the cognitive aspect is in the medium category with a percentage 37,58%, (2) student interest in continuing education to secondary school seen from the affective aspect is in the medium category with a percentage 43,62%.

Abstract

The goal of counseling, among other thing,   is to develop an internal locus of control of a clients. Research, especially in western cultures, has shown that those with an internal locus of control were correlated to their characters, they are:  hard work, problem solving skilss, optimistic, engaging in social activities and high in achievement motivation. However, for clients who are not from western cultures a tendency to foster an internal locus of control in the counseling process should be considered properly. This paper describes how to  enhance client’s internal locus of control for those who do not embrace western cultures

Abstract

Having a harmonious, happy and loving family is everyone’s dream. But few people can make it happen. There are still family members who feel uncomfortable when they are at home. They feel insecure, pressured, unappreciated, and neglected. Domestic violence can affect every family member, wife, husband, children, or other family members. However, the most frequent victims of domestic violence, with the highest number of cases each year, are women. Women who are victims experience various negative affects. Besides impacting the physical, it also impacts the psyche, one of which is anxiety. This paper aims to analyze various research results related to anxiety in women victims of domestic violence. This paper gives a theoretical overview of the research on anxiety in domestic violence victims. Searches in databases relevant to both clinical and consumer behavior literature, such as Scopus, EBSCO, Web of Science – Social Citations Index, Medline, PsycINFO, and Pubmed, were used to conduct a selective review of the literature. The paper examines current thinking on troublesome anxiety disorders in women who have been victims of domestic violence. The literature evaluation allows for the expansion of existing knowledge about domestic violence.

Abstract

Internalization of conformity need to be developed in education. Development of internalization of conformity in school environment make students can optimize their internal ability to think, feel, consider everything in behaving to obey school rules. In fact the social causes make students adhere to school rules such as fear sanctioned, want to be praised. Shame ridiculed friends and others. This research aims to describe student’s internalization of conformity with the regulations of arrival and presence, rules in learning and common rules in school and their implications in guidance and counseling services. The method used is descriptive research. The instrument research is quistionnaire. The population in this research was all students MAN 1 Model Bukittinggi and samples are 90 people. The finding of the research revealed that  most of internalization of conformity student for rules relatively middle in schools relating to the regulation of arrival and presence, rules in learning and common rules in school.
