Abstract

This research aims to obtain a deep understanding of the realization of polite rejection speech of the Literature Education students at the FKIP UIR. The data sources in this research were all polite rejection speeches expressed by the students. This research used the descriptive qualitative method with a phenomenology approach. The results show that polite rejections are more dominant used with reasons. It shows that giving a reason when rejecting an offer, invitation, command, and appeal would be considered more appropriate and does not hurt the interlocutors. It also shows a scale of unreadiness. Further, the scale of unreadiness may be an alternative that can be applied when performing rejection speeches. This indicates that the rejection speeches expressed by the students are classified as polite.

Abstract

This research is based on the discovery of students and teachers at SMAN 01 Logas Tanah Darat, Kuantan Singingi, Riau, who spoke impolitely. As people working in the world of education, students and teachers must certainly pay attention to politeness in language. For this reason, this research needs to be conducted to see the extent of the politeness of students and teachers in communicating in the realm of education. Also, this study not only looked at the politeness of students and teachers but also want to see the factors causing the impoliteness of students and teachers in speaking. This research uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic methods. Sources of data in this study were students and teachers at SMAN 01 Logas Tanah Darat, Kuantan Singingi, Riau. The data in this study are the speech of students and teachers containing six maxim of politeness raised by Leech. The results of this study indicate that students and teachers at SMAN 01 Logas Tanah Darat, Kuantan Singingi Riau can already be categorized politely in speech. This can be seen from the 101 utterances found that only 38 utterances are categorized as impolite or violate the six maxims of the politeness principle stated by Leech.

Abstract

In line with technological developments, English learning media can be done through You Tube. You Tube developed into You Tube Kids to cater to children consumers. You Tube Kids provides various interesting channels in English such as Peppa Pig, Coco Melon and Ania-Elsia. An interesting phenomenon was found in a child who is able to speak English because he often watches Ania and Elsia's You Tube channels. In their daily habits, the child uses Indonesian as the first language and English as the second language. This study tries to reveal the influence of You Tube Kids on second language acquisition. The study of first and second language acquisition material is in the field of psycholinguistics studies. The research method used is a qualitative research method using case study research. From this research, You Tube Kids is very influential in the acquisition of a second language in terms of cognitive, vocabulary and pronunciation of words well.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang mendalam tentang proses afiksasi dan perubahan kelas kata yang terdapat pada karangan anak umur 11 tahun di Kuningan, Jawa Barat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester genap tahun 2014–2015.Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Penelitian ini difokuskan pada proses afiksasi dan perubahan kelas kata pada karangan anak umur 10–12 tahun di Kuningan, Jawa Barat. Objek penelitian adalah karangan anak umur 10–12 tahun di Kuningan, Jawa Barat. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah peneliti sendiri dibantu dengan tabel analisis kerja, yaitu tabel analisis proses afiksasi dan perubahan kelas kata. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa proses morfologi dan perubahan kelas kata pada karangan anak umur 10–12 tahun di Kuningan, Jawa Barat menandakan bahwa proses morfologi dan perubahan kelas kata terdapat dalam pembuatan karangan oleh anak umur 11 tahun di Kuningan, Jawa Barat. Dengan demikian, proses morfologi dan perubahan kelas kata terdapat dalam karangan anak umur 10–12 tahun di Kuningan, Jawa Barat. Kata Kunci: Afiksasi, Perubahan Kelas Kata, Karangan, Dananak Umur 10–12 Tahun.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan memahami kontribusi kreativitas dalam inovasi. Inovasi yang menjadi fokus masalah adalah inovasi sebagai proses yang berasal dari kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Inovasi sebagai keterampilan lunak diintergrasikan dalam kemapuan pemecahan masalah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskrptif kualitatif. Responden penelitian adalah 33 orang siswa kelas 11 dari SMA di Sumatera Utara, Lampung Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Nusa Tenggara Barat, dan Kalimatan Barat. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa siswa kelas 11sebagai berikut (a) belum mampu menyusun identifikasi masalah secara lancar dan lentur, (b) telah mampu menyusun pembatasan masalah secara lentur. (c) belum mampu menganalisis masalah dengan sudut pandang yang berbeda. (d) evaluasi dari alternantif solusi dalam pemecahan masalah sangat normatif belum ada keunikan dan gagasan baru, (e) perencanaan aksi telah dilakukan digagas secara original dan telah dielaborasi dengan baik, (f) pelaksanaan aksi dapat diungkapan dengan lancar, lentur dan original, (g) tindak lanjut dari solusi belum dapat diungkapkan secara lancar, lentur, dan original. Kata kunci: Kreativitas, Inovasi, Pemecahan Masalah Abstract This study aims to include the contribution of creativity in innovation. Innovation that is the focus of the problem is innovation as a process that comes from the ability to think creatively. Innovation as a software skill is integrated into problem solving abilities. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Research respondents were 33 grade 11 students from high school in North Sumatra, Lampung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, West Nusa Tenggara, and West Kalimantan. The results of the study stated that the 11th grade students as follows (a) have not been able to arrange problems smoothly and flexibly, (b) have been able to arrange problems flexibly. (c) have not been able to analyze the problem from a different point of view. (d) evaluation of alternative solutions in problem solving is very normative with uniqueness and new ideas, (e) action planning has been carried out originally initiated and has been well elaborated, (f) action implementation is expressed smoothly, flexible and original, (g) The follow-up to the solution has not been smooth, flexible, and original.Keywords: Creativity, Innovation, Problem Solving

Abstract

There have been several challenges in facing the era of industrial revolution 4.0. namely "Artificial Intelligence (AI), data and information (big data), cloud computing (cloud technology), internet, digital money (bitcoin), social media to data security are challenges that must be faced by college graduates today. Industry 4.0 holds a commitment to increase flexibility in manufacturing, in bulk, with better quality and productivity, resulting in rapid changes experienced by society, namely the rapid development of information technology that has a lot of impacts on human life both positive and negative. which is very strategic in the midst of its community, which must be able to provide enlightenment for the surrounding community, nation and state.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the ECOLA method on the ability to edit scientific articles of students. The method used in this research is the expriment method. This method is used to examine the possibility of a causal relationship, by exposing one or more experimental groups and one or more experimental conditions. The design used in this study is the pretest posttest control group design. This research was conducted at the Indonesian Literature Study Program, Faculty of Language and Art, Jakarta State University. In this study, the independent variable is the ECOLA learning method and the dependent variable is the ability to edit scientific articles. Based on the research results it is known that there is an effective ECOLA method used to improve the ability to edit scientific articles of students. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode exprimen. Metode ini digunakan untuk meneliti kemungkinan hubungan sebab akibat, dengan cara mengekspos satu atau lebih kelompok eksperimental dan satu atau lebih kondisi ekperimen. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pretest posttest control group design. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Program Studi Sastra Indonesia, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Dalam penelitian ini, variabel bebas berupa metode pembelajaran ECOLA dan variabel terikatnya adalah kemampuan menyunting artikel ilmiah. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui terdapat metode ECOLA efektif digunakanuntukl meningkatkan kemampuan menyunting artikel ilmiah mahasiswa. Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of visualization strategies on writing explanatory text skill on VIIIth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jakarta. The method used in this study was an experimental method with a control group pre-post test design. T-test and Fisher's test were used as data analysis techniques in this study. The results of the t-test on the post-test score between the experimental and the control class indicated that the t-test score was 6.99> 2.06 t-table with dk 24. Significant level = 0.05. Because tcount> ttable means H1 is accepted. The results of this study indicated that the application of visualization strategies had an effect on the ability to write explanatory text for VIII grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jakarta. The results of the general assessment showed that the organizational structure and reviews had the most dominant increase. From the results above, the visualization strategy can be used as a good strategy in learning to write explanatory text. Besides, as well as can be implied for explanatory text learning material with KD 3.10 “Examining explanatory text in the form of exposure to natural phenomena that are heard or read” and KD 4.10. “Presenting information and data in the form of an explanatory text of the process of an oral and written phenomenon by paying attention to the structure, language elements, or oral aspects”. Keywords: visualization strategy, writing explanatory text skill Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi visualisasi terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode eksperimen dengan desain penelitian prates dan postes grup kontrol. Uji-t dan uji fisher digunakan sebagai teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini. Hasil uji-t pada skor postes antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol menujukan bahwa skor thitung 6,99> ttabel 2,06dengan dk 24. Taraf signifikan = 0,05. Karena thitung > ttabel berarti H1 diterima. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa menerapkan strategi visualisasi berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas VIII SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Jakarta. Hasil penilaian menunjukkan bahwa aspek struktur identifikasi umum dan ulasan mengalami kenaikan yang paling dominan. Dari hasil tersebut, strategi visualisasi dapat dijadikan strategi yang baik dalam pembelajaran menulis teks eksplanasi serta dapat juga diimplikasikan untuk materi pembelajaran teks eksplanasi dengan KD 3.10 “Menelaah teks eksplanasi berupa paparan kejadian suatu fenomena alam yang diperdengarkan atau dibaca” serta KD 4.10 “Menyajikan informasi dan data dalam bentuk teks eksplanasi proses terjadinya suatu fenomena secara lisan dan tulis dengan memerhatikan struktur, unsur kebahasaan, atau aspek lisan”. Abstract

Novel Gornathoh karya Radwa Ashour memaparkan tentang konflik antar penguasa yang menjajah negeri Granada dan otoritas Castile memerintahkan untuk memeluk agama Katolik dan meninggalkan bahasa Arab yang digantikan menggunakan bahasa Castile, yang diulas menggunakan kajian psikologi sastra. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah representasi tingkah laku kepribadian diri nyata dan diri ideal. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis isi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dengan content analysis. Uji validasi data menggunakan triangulasi data, teori, dan metode. Hasil penelitian ini tokoh Salemah ditemukan kepribadian diri nyata sebanyak 3 temuan, kepribadian diri ideal sebanyak 9 temuan. Kepribadian yang mendominasi tokoh Salemah adalah diri ideal. Tokoh Hasan ditemukan kepribadian diri nyata sebanyak 8 temuan, kepribadian diri ideal sebanyak 7 temuan. Kepribadian tokoh Hasan adalah kepribadian yang seimbang antara diri nyata dengan diri ideal. Tokoh Saad ditemukan kepribadian diri nyata sebanyak 16 temuan, kepribadian diri ideal sebanyak 6 temuan. Kepribadian tokoh Saad adalah kepribadian diri nyata. Tokoh Naem ditemukan kepribadian diri nyata sebanyak 8 temuan, kepribadian diri ideal sebanyak 13 temuan. Kepribadian tokoh Naem adalah kepribadian yang mendominasi diri ideal. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to find out how the following aspects of analysis in textbook evaluation can facilitate assessment of the suitability of the text book students have been using as the main course book. The aspects are (1) use of business language skills and grammar (2) business vocabulary (3) business related materials (4) pedagogic features.The textbook being referred to is Market Leader, Third edition, Elementary published by Pearson Education, London, United Kingdom. The gap filled in this research and prior research is that they are prior-use textbook evaluation, while this article is based on a in-use textbook evaluation. To achieve the aim, this research employs Philipp Mayring’s Qualitative Content Analysis research method, and Chengqian Guo’s new text book evaluation model as the framework developed from previous evaluation models.
