Abstract

This research aims to investigate the influence of intructional models and critical thinking ability toward reading understanding ability in Arabic language outcome of students at MDT Shibyanul Muslimin Jakarta. This research is quantitative research using design treatment by level 2x2. The instrumen used to assess students critical thingking’s ability is in quentionnaire form, while the instrument used to assess student’s reading understanding ability in Arabic language is in the multiple choice form. The result of the research show that: (1) reading understanding ability in Arabic language outcome of students using cooperative learning tipe STAD model are higher than those reading understanding ability in Arabic language outcomes of students using cooperative learning tipe NHT models, (2) there is interaction effect between learning model and critical thinking on reading understanding ability in Arabic language outcome of students, (3) reading understanding ability in Arabic language outcome of students who has high critical thinking and using cooperative learning tipe STAD model are higher than students using cooperative learing tipe NHT model, (4) reading understanding ability in Arabic language outcome of students who has critical thinking and using cooperative learning tipe STAD model are lower than students using the cooperative learning tipe NHT models.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to improve the Arabic reading skills of fourth grade of SDIT Segar Amanah students through the Look and Say technique. The subjects of this research were 32 students of fourth grade SDIT Segar Amanah. This research used a Classroom Action Research method with a model from Kemmis and Mc Taggart which consisted of planning, acting and observing, and reflecting throughout 2 cycles. The data was collected using test and observation guidelines for teaching and learning activities and observation guidelines for teacher and student. This research shows that the Look .and Say technique can improve students' reading skills in Arabic with the difference in the results of the pre-test, post-test cycle 1 and post-test cycle 2 with the class average score in the pre-test is 49.5. Then the average score results in the post test cycle 1 was 67.2 and the result of the class average score in the post-test 2 was 78.3. Keywords : Arabic Reading Skills, Look and Say

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to broaden the understanding of the study of language analysis used in da'wah communication, to provide an overview and knowledge of forms of da'wah communication language that can be applied in everyday life and can be used as an example of qualitative research, especially content analysis. This study uses a content analysis method with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique is done by content analysis. The results showed that the form of da'wah communication style in terms of the End aspect in the lectures delivered by Syekh Sulaiman bin Salimullah Ar Ruhaily found as many as 26 utterances. The form of da'wah communication style in terms of the Act Sequences aspect was found to be 44 utterances. The form of da'wah communication style in terms of genre aspects was found as many as 29 utterances

Abstract

The application of two or even three languages is very possible for students at the Junior High School level in metropolitan cities because they are usually directed by their families and environment in adapting to challenges. Especially in private schools in big cities, such as Jakarta, learning languages other than Indonesian are also applied, such as learning in Mandarin and also English. The use of languages (English and Mandarin, in addition to Indonesian) at home also needs to be considered, because it really helps the implementation of language acquisition at home and teaching at school. This study aims to examine students' skills in speaking in three languages. This study uses a qualitative method in comparison with the results of the end-of-semester assessment which is the result of the application of the use of the three languages for students, at home and at school. Abstract

This study aims at improving students’ comprehension on English vocabulary using computer and finding out the effectiveness, efficiency and the attractiveness of Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in English learning. It was carried out at SMP Sunan Giri Gresik by using proactive action research method and intervention action model. The participants belonged to 3 different class groups. Thirty of them were from 7th grade (Amanah class) and thirty-two of them from (Hidayah class). The other 30 participants from (Inayah class). The data were collected and analyzed by using mixed method approach. Instruments used for collecting data in this study are questionnaires, documents, observation check list, interview, and achievement tests. The results showed that the treatments give affect positively for students especially treatment on cycle 2. It also can be seen by the students’ involvement actively during learning process. Computer assisted learning especially using software gave students chance to explore their English skill especially the vocabulary through interacting directly with computer by doing exercises given individually in pair or group. From the explanation above it can be concluded that English learning in junior high school can be improved with the help of computer assistance in this matter called Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) mainly to improve English vocabulary. Abstract

In the flipped classroom, students must have independent learning behavior to achieve optimal competence. However, the reality is that students' independence in learning is not good, so a teacher is supposed to carry out knowledge that can facilitate the formation of student learning independence. One of the lessons that can increase students' learning independence is the Flipped Classroom model with the help of interactive e-books. This study aims to conduct a literature review on the importance of improving student learning independence through the Flipped Classroom model based on Interactive e-books. The SLR (Systematic Literature Review) method was chosen in this study. Data collection was carried out by documenting and reviewing all articles on learning independence that had similar research in this report. A total of 15 journal articles obtained from Google Scholar with the help of the publish and perish application were used in this study. Based on the literature review, it can be concluded that increasing the ability to learn independently is needed by students in learning, especially in online education with the interactive e-book-based flipped classroom model. Independent learning has a positive influence on students in education.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the GLS program at SMP Negeri 107 Jakarta. The method used is descriptive with a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative). The results showed that: (1) Context evaluation, students, teachers and parents viewed the GLS program as needed by students; (2) input evaluation, the majority of teachers do not have adequate literacy capacity, the School Committee and parents support the GLS program, there is a Literacy Working Group Team and there is no public involvement; (3) Process evaluation, principals, teachers and education staff were involved in the 15 minute reading activity, the majority of teachers had taught the correct reading and summarizing strategies; (4) Product evaluation, the majority of students, teachers and parents feel the benefits of the GLS program, the GLS program affects learning activities, behavior, insights and skills of students. In conclusion, habituation of literacy activities in schools in the form of a 15-minute reading program, plus a literacy-rich physical environment and the use of literacy strategies in learning are proven to be able to form students' new skills. Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this study to improve the speed reading skill students after participating learning using recitation method in elementary school. This study was conducted at SDI PB Soedirman Raya Bogor km 24 Street Pasar Rebo East Jakarta. The subjects are students at 4th grade totaling 25 people. This study used action research method by Kemmis and Mc. Taggart cycle model. At each cycle there is a very significant increase started from pretest percentage of reading skill learners who get value ≥70 is 40%, end of cycle I is 60%, and end of cycle II is 84%. So the hypothesis of speed reading through recitation method in action accepted 70%. Thus the implications of using this recitation method can enable learners in speed reading skills in Indonesian language lessons can be used to reaching the purpose at the classroom. Keywords: Speed Reading, Recitation Method, Action Research Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan membaca cepat peserta didik setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode resitasi di Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SDI PB Soedirman Jalan Raya Bogor Km 24 Pasar Rebo Jakarta Timur. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas IV yang berjumlah 25 peserta didik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan kelas oleh Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang dilaksnakan dengan menggunakan metode siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa diperoleh peningkatan persentase mulai dari prapenelitian peserta didik mendapatkan nilai ≥70 sebesar 40%, pada akhir siklus I didapat sebesar 60% dan pada akhir siklus II didapat peningkatan menjadi 84%. Hasil keterampilan membaca cepat pada siklus II telah melampaui target. Dengan demikian implikasi menggunakan metode resitasi ini dapat mengaktifkan peserta didik dalam keterampilan membaca cepat dalam pelajaran bahasa Indonesia serta mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan di kelas. Abstract

This study aims to describe the actant in The Maze Runner novel based on the scheme of the actant, and the structure of the story. Methods of data collection is done by reading notes technique. This study uses content analysis because it prioritizes the depth of appreciation of the interactions between concepts that are being studied empirically. The results of the research show that there are three acts which are divided into three chapters in this novel. The actant and functional structures in The Maze Runner novel are complex and have fulfilled all stages. This novel can be used as literature learning material, especially novels.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan aktan dalam novel The Maze Runner berdasarkan skema aktannya, dan struktur cerita. Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik baca catat. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis isi karena mengutamakan kedalaman penghayatan interaksi antar-konsep yang sedang dikaji secara empiris. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tiga aktan yang terbagi dalam tiga bab di novel ini. Struktur aktan dan fungsional dalam novel The Maze Runner sudah kompleks dan sudah memenuhi semua tahapan. Novel ini dapat digunakan sebagai materi pembelajaran sastra, khususnya novel.
