Abstract

Language is a means of communication used by humans to interact, express ideas, and build social relationships. Indonesian, as both the national and official language, plays a significant role in the lives of the Indonesian people. In addition to serving as a national identity, it functions as a unifying tool for the country's diverse ethnicities, cultures, and regional languages. This study aims to explain the functions of Indonesian as the national and official language, as well as to examine its language varieties based on usage situations, communication media, and fields of application. The research uses a library research method by exploring and analyzing various relevant literature, including academic books, journal articles, conference proceedings, and official documents. The findings indicate that Indonesian has various forms depending on the context and communication situation. These include formal and informal language, spoken and written forms, and variations based on specific fields such as science, law, journalism, and literature. This diversity reflects the flexibility of Indonesian in meeting the communication needs of society. Beyond being a communication tool, Indonesian also plays important social and cultural roles by strengthening social bonds and serving as a medium for preserving and developing national culture.

Abstract

Data-based planning is the process of collecting, analyzing and using data to determine goals, strategies and activities that will be carried out to improve and increase the quality of education in schools which is very important to understand in the Driving School Program. The aim of this workshop activity is that participants who attend are able to prepare data-based plans which will later produce Annual Work Plans (RKT) and School Work Plans and Budgets (RKAS) which are part of data-based planning in schools. The method used in the form of a data-based planning workshop is participatory from the learning committee, namely the principal and elementary school teachers of each school, including from 4 levels of elementary school, namely SDN 100 Dare Bunga-Bungae, SDN 118 Ujung, SDN 238 Laempa, and SDN 5 Mattiropole in the area. Soppeng Regency. The data-based planning workshop activity was held on Saturday 11 November 2023 at SMPN 3 Watansoppeng by involving participants directly during the activity with a flow of activities starting from the opening, starting from the self, concept exploration, collaboration space, contextual demonstration, real action plan and closing. The final result of this data-based planning workshop activity is a draft product of the Annual Work Plan (RKT) and School Work Plan and Budget (RKAS). Thus, these data-based planning activities can have a positive impact on each school in the Class I Driving School Program, which can strengthen various participants' skills and competencies in preparing designs related to data-based planning, thereby encouraging digitalization in schools

Abstract

This article discusses the development of a foundation for curriculum design in primary schools. A foundation must support the development of the curriculum in order for it to work in accordance with its stated objectives. Guidelines for curriculum design should be included in the curriculum content. The curriculum is a tool for work that is prepared so that the plan can be followed effectively. The research methodology used in this article is the desk research method, which involves collecting information from various online sources, including books and journals. In other words, the desk research method requires a literature review of data sources in the form of books and journals. The purpose of this article is to provide readers with a better understanding of the fundamentals involved in curriculum design. The data collection strategy or data analysis technique uses a qualitative approach, specifically a literature analysis of data from books and journals found on the internet. The results of this study found that there are 4 foundations of curriculum design including, (1) the philosophical foundation, which is used in the creation of the curriculum both as an actual implementation in schools and as a written program, (2) the psychological foundation, to modify teaching to suit the needs of students, starting with the content that needs to be taught and how to teach it, (3) the sociological foundation, which must be adapted to the environment of the community where education is held, including the facilities and infrastructure available, affecting and supporting the implementation of education, (4) the foundation of science and technology, the curriculum must consider industry needs, lifestyles, labor needs and demands, and individual needs in line with advances in science and technology in order to keep pace with these developments. This research will also show how the above foundations can play an important role in curriculum design. Keywords: foundation, design, curriculum

Abstract

The project to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students is essential because it can provide a deeper understanding of what strengthening Pancasila values is like for students in schools that apply the independent curriculum. The purpose of implementing the assistance is to strengthen further the knowledge of school principals and teachers regarding the implementation of projects to strengthen Pancasila student profiles and to design ideas for modifying project modules that are by the context of the situation and needs of the school. The method in mentoring workshop 2 was a participatory learning committee, namely the principal and 2 teacher representatives for each school, which consisted of 4 levels of elementary school, namely SD Negeri 5 Mattiropole. SD Negeri 238 Laempa, SD Negeri 118 Ujung, and SD Negeri 100 Dare Bunga-Bungae, which are in the Soppeng Regency area, were held on December 10, 2022, by involving participants directly during the activity. The final result of the curriculum 2 workshop activities is in the form of product design ideas for project modifications to strengthen the profile of Pancasila students. Thus, project assistance to strengthen Pancasila student profiles can positively impact schools in the Mobilizing School Program, strengthening various skills, competencies, and characters from curricular activities in schools.

Abstract

Writing instruction in Indonesian elementary schools often receives less emphasis compared to other language skills, despite its importance in developing students’ ability to think critically and communicate effectively. This study explores how advanced writing instruction—specifically for students in Grades 4–6—can be enhanced through practical strategies and technological support. Using qualitative content analysis of 58 academic sources published between 2019 and 2024, the study identifies key teaching approaches such as text modeling, collaborative writing, and project-based learning. The findings reveal that successful writing instruction is shaped by three main factors: teachers’ instructional strategies, students’ cognitive readiness, and the integration of engaging tools such as artificial intelligence. For example, AI-driven learning, including the use of tools like ChatGPT, helps students generate ideas and receive real-time feedback, thereby enhancing creativity and motivation. However, challenges remain, such as limited student vocabulary, abstract thinking skills, and the continued use of conventional teaching methods. The study concludes that a student-centered, creative, and technology-supported approach is essential for improving writing outcomes. It recommends sustained teacher training and curriculum support to align instructional practices with the demands of 21st-century literacy.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the active debate method in improving the speaking skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 10 Saotengah, Sinjai Regency. The population of this research was all students at SD Negeri 10 Saotengah, totaling 73 students. Sampling in this study was carried out using a one group pre test-post test design technique, so the sample in this study was class V students of SD Negeri 10 Saotengah, Sinjai Regency with a total of 15 students consisting of 8 boys and 7 girls. Data collection uses observation sheets, rubrics, tests and documentation. Instrument testing uses validity and reliability. The data analysis technique uses descriptive inferential statistical analysis, namely the normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test in the form of a linearity test. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that the use of the debate method can improve the speaking skills of class V students at SD Negeri 10 Saotengah, Sinjai Regency. This is based on the results of research conducted that the data on the comparison of the Pretest and Posttest for the Pros and Cons groups showed a significant influence after using the debate method, with an average pretest score of 65.2 and an average posttest score of 76.9. So this means that Ho and Ha are accepted through several tests, first the validity test, the reliability test, then the normality test and the momogeneity test. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the debate method is effective in improving students' speaking skills at SD Negeri 10 Saotengah, Sinjai Regency.

Abstract

Keterampilan berbicara merupakan kemampuan berbahasa yang berkembang setelah keterampilan menyimak dan berperan penting dalam mengekspresikan ide, pikiran, dan perasaan secara lisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengertian, karakteristik, fungsi, metode pengembangan, tantangan, dan solusi dalam pengembangan keterampilan berbicara siswa sekolah dasar (SD). Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi literatur dengan sumber data berupa buku, artikel jurnal, dan literatur relevan lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan berbicara melibatkan tata bahasa yang benar, intonasi yang sesuai, dan keberanian berbicara di depan umum, yang semuanya penting untuk memperkuat hubungan sosial dan mendukung proses pembelajaran. Metode seperti diskusi, bermain peran, presentasi, dan bercerita dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan ini. Namun, terdapat tantangan seperti rasa malu, kurang percaya diri, dan keterbatasan kosakata. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa keterampilan berbicara merupakan pondasi penting dalam kehidupan siswa, yang tidak hanya meningkatkan kepercayaan diri tetapi juga mempersiapkan mereka untuk menghadapi dunia yang semakin kompleks.

Abstract

Keterampilan membaca merupakan aspek fundamental dalam pendidikan dasar yang berperan penting dalam perkembangan kognitif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan konsep keterampilan membaca di sekolah dasar, termasuk metode, tantangan, dan strategi pengembangannya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berbasis studi literatur, penelitian ini menganalisis berbagai referensi dari buku, artikel jurnal, dan dokumen akademis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode PQ4R, metode eja, metode fonik, dan metode global efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman membaca siswa. Namun, terdapat tantangan seperti rendahnya minat baca, kesulitan memahami teks, gangguan pembelajaran, kurangnya latihan membaca, serta keterbatasan fasilitas. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan inovatif dalam pengajaran membaca, pemanfaatan media pembelajaran yang menarik, serta penguatan budaya literasi di sekolah dan rumah. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi referensi bagi guru dan pemangku kebijakan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan membaca siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menyelidiki kemampuan membaca pada anak sekolah dasar serta manfaat dari berbagai filososfi dan teknik mengajar. Penelitian ini mengkaji nilai literasi dini dalam meletakkan dasar keberhasilan akademik siswa dengan menggunakan metodologi penelitian kualitatif dan tinjauan literature. Kemahiran membaca tidak hanya membantu dalam pemahaman materi tetapi juga mendorong pertumbuhan kemampuan kognitif, analitis, dan komunikasi siswa. Penekanan utama adalah pada aspek kemampuan membaca seperti pemahaman teks, pengenalan symbol, dan intonasi suara yang sesuai. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa dengan menempatkan siswa dipusat pembelajaran yang terintegrasi dan relevan, model CIRC (Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition) dan metode SAS (Synthetic Structural Analytics) adalah yang paling berhasil dalam mengembangkan keterampilan membaca anak-anak sekolah dasar. Studi ini menekankan betapa pentingnya model serta metode pengajaran kreatif dan suasana pengasuhan untuk menumbuhkan minat dan keterampilan membaca anak sejak usia muda. Penerapan kedua strategi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca anak, yang kemudian akan mengarah pada pertumbuhan kemampuan menulis dan pemahaman yang lebih dalam terhadap teks yang mereka baca, yang semuanya akan berkontribusi pada prestasi akademik mereka.

Abstract

Pengajaran tata bahasa dan ejaan Bahasa Indonesia di tingkat sekolah dasar (SD) sangat penting dalam membangun kemampuan berbahasa yang benar dan efektif bagi siswa. Tata bahasa mencakup materi mengenai struktur kalimat, pembentukan kata, dan aturan sintaksis, sedangkan ejaan mengajarkan siswa cara menulis sesuai dengan kaidah yang berlaku dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pelaksanaan pengajaran tata bahasa dan ejaan di SD serta mengidentifikasi kendala yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam menyampaikan materi tersebut. menggunakan metode library research atau penelitian pustaka, yaitu metode yang mengumpulkan data dengan cara mempelajari sumber-sumber tertulis yang sudah ada, seperti buku, artikel, jurnal ilmiah, laporan penelitian, dan dokumen lainnya yang berkaitan dengan topik penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pengajaran tata bahasa dan ejaan sangat penting, banyak guru yang menghadapi kesulitan dalam mengajarkan materi ini dengan efektif, terutama karena terbatasnya waktu pengajaran, materi yang harus disampaikan, serta perbedaan kemampuan siswa. Selain itu, kurangnya sumber daya dan pelatihan untuk guru juga menjadi tantangan dalam pengajaran yang optimal. Oleh karena itu, perlu adanya pendekatan yang lebih kreatif dan pengembangan kurikulum yang lebih sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa, agar pengajaran tata bahasa dan ejaan di sekolah dasar dapat dilaksanakan dengan lebih baik. untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di tingkat dasar.
