Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang profesi pekerja informal selama pandemi Covid-19. Adapun Objek yang dianalisis berupa pengalaman bekerja para pekerja informal selama pandemi Covid-19 berlangsung.Tujuan penulisan artikel yaitu untuk mengkonstruksi pengalaman tersebut sehingga membangun konsensus bersama antarpekerja informal tentang pengalaman bekerja selama melakukan pekerjaan disaat pandemi Covid-19. Artikel ini merupakan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan di Kota Bandung dengan melibatkan beberapa pekerja informal melalui teknik purposif. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan menggunakan studi fenomenologi. Pengambilan data melalui wawancara online, adapun untuk beberapa informan yang belum berinteraksi dengan media digital dilakukan dengan wawancara via telepon atau secara bertatap muka dengan menerapkan protokol kesehatan yang telah ditetapkan. Peneliti menemukan pengalaman tentang dampak negatif dan dampak positif bekerja ditengah pandemi. Dampak negatif bekerja ditengah pandemi Covid-19 adalah berkurangnya pendapatan secara signifikan, terlebih untuk pedagang kecil mereka harus mengeluarkan modal seperti biasa namun keuntungan yang didapat menurun drastis bahkan merugi hingga mengalami kebangkrutan. Stigma negatif juga diterima para pekerja informal dari konsumen ataupun orang-orang sekitar yang kedudukannya lebih tinggi, yang menganggap mereka adalah penyebar virus. Dampak positif yang dirasakan oleh pekerja informal disaat pandemi Covid- 19 hampir tidak ada namun tanpa disadari dibalik pandemi ada hal positif , dirasakan atau tidak seperti halnya pekerja informal lebih melek terhadap teknologi digital, lebih memprioritaskan kebersihan dan kesehatan dibanding pekerjaan, dan lebih mementingkan pengelolaan kehidupan untuk kedepannya. Pengalaman tentang dampak positif dan negatif bekerja ditengah pandemi Covid-19 mencerminkan karakteristik (1) Pekerja informal merasa perekonomiannya terpuruk dan merasa terancam keberlangsungan hidupnya dan (2) pekerja informal yang berusaha mencari peluang dari keterbatasan ditengah pandemi Covid-19. Karakteristik pekerja informal yang merasa terpuruk dan merasa terancam keberlangsungan hidupnya cenderung berpenghasilan sangat rendah, tidak mengenyam pendidikan, dan bekerja serabutan. Sementara untuk pekerja informal yang berusaha mencari peluang dari keterbatasan cenderung senang bersosialisasi, memiliki penghasilan sedikit lebih baik dan mengenyam pendidikan formal.

Abstract

Measuring standards for the management of tofu products as culinary tourism can contribute to the branding of the city of Sumedang, Indonesia. With the challenges in the technology era 4.0 the culinary industry, including Sumedang, is demanded to do branding through digital technology. This is the background of the importance of this study. The research design uses the ethnographic study of public relations with a qualitative approach. Data collection involved 4 producers and 4 consumers through interview and observation techniques. This research found differentiation as a strategy for managing tofu products. The differentiation strategy includes the use of digital promotional media in the form of websites and social media, which previously only used conventional media, such as banners. Differentiation can also be found in packaging using boxes made of woven bamboo. Another differentiation is in the variation of flavors by adding sambal kecap (chili soy sauce), sambal oncom (chili sauce mixed with a fermented caked product made of peanut press cake), sambal hejo (green chili sauce) in addition to its original accompaniment of the whole chilies. However, these changes do not change the tofu price of around 500 rupiahs per piece. Differentiation as an effort to build the branding of Sumedang city is what drives the local government to make tofu products as culinary tourism. This study offers a concept of culinary tourism as cultural tourism in the city of Sumedang. The concept of this tourism has not been much researched, although culinary culture is one of the intellectual properties that must be developed. Product development through product differentiation and convergence of Internet-based media is a product communication strategy effort for managing Sumedang Tofu products.

Abstract

The escalating use of English as a primary mode of communication in Bandung City is impacting the younger generation's interest in learning and using the Sundanese language. This quantitative study investigates the correlation between English and Sundanese language usage among 100 respondents aged 12-21, employing correlation and simple linear regression tests. Results indicate a negative influence of English on Sundanese usage, with higher English usage correlating with lower Sundanese use (correlation coefficient: -0.622, English's effect on Sundanese: 59.5%). The decline in Sundanese usage is attributed to environmental factors, education, and peer interactions. Recommendations include promoting Sundanese among Generation Z to preserve the language.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Indonesia saat ini adalah salah satu negara yang terpapar virus COVID-19. Physical distancing merupakan kebijakan yang diberlakukan oleh pemerintah kepada masyarakat agar virus COVID-19 tidak menyebar lebih luas lagi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana perubahan perilaku komunikasi karyawan disaat menjalankan physical distancing selama pandemi COVID-19 di Kota Bandung. Dengan adanya kebijakan untuk wajib melakukan physical distancing, artinya masyarakat melakukan kebiasaan berkomunikasi yang berbeda dari biasanya. Bahwasannya kita mengetahui bahwa masyarakat Kota Bandung memiliki kebiasaan bersalaman dan berkumpul. Metode penilitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi etnografi komunikasi dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Dalam menentukan informan, peneliti menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan kriteria yang sudah ditentukan oleh peneliti. Hasil penelitian menemukan adanya perubahan perilaku komunikasi saat melakukan physical distancing, yaitu sebelum adanya kebijakan physical distancing karyawan selalu melakukan salaman saat bertegur sapa, namun saat adanya kebijakan physical distancing karyawan tidak lagi melakukan tegur sapa dengan bersalaman namun hanya sekedar tegur sapa melalui verbal. Hasil penelitian juga menemukan perubahan, biasanya karyawan muda selalu berkumpul setelah pulang bekerja, namun setelah adanya kebijakan physical distancing karyawan tidak dapat lagi berkumpul seperti biasanya dengan rekan-rekannya. ABSTRACT Indonesia is currently one of the countries exposed to the virus COVID-19. Physical distancing is a policy imposed by the Government to the public so that the virus COVID-19 does not spread more broadly. The purpose of this research is to know how to change the communication behavior of employees while conducting physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic in Bandung. With the existence of a policy, means that community is doing the different things than usual. We know that the people of Bandung City has a habit of shaking hands and gathering. The research method used in this study is the ethnographic study of communication with a qualitative approach. In determining the informant, the researcher uses purposive sampling technique with the criteria already determined by the researcher. The results of the study found that there was a change in communication behavior when doing physical distancing. For instance, before the policy exist employees always do the hand shake with the other employees, but when the policy exist employee is no longer doing a hand shake but only a kind of greetings through verbal. The results of the study also found a change, typically young employees always gathered after work, but after the policy exist employees can no longer gather as usual with the collegue.

Abstract

Several zakat amil institutions need to implement rebranding strategies with the aim of improving the image and credibility of the institution in the eyes of the public. In 2023, an institution named Pusat Zakat Umat underwent rebranding and changed its name to LAZ PERSIS. This research aims to determine the stages of rebranding in achieving the goal of being recognized again by the general public. The study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The paradigm used in this research is the constructivist paradigm. The object of this research is the implementation of rebranding carried out by the Zakat Amil Institution PERSIS. The informant selection technique used is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique. Data collection methods are carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research results indicate that MPR plays a key role in managing the rebranding transition effectively, building integrated communication, and maintaining public trust.

Abstract

The advent of instant messaging apps like WhatsApp has changed the way parents communicate digitally. One of the more popular features is the use of stickers in messages. This study aims to determine the use of WhatsApp stickers in digital communication among parents in Baladewa Rt 08, Bandung city, and measure its impact on the effectiveness of their communication. This research uses quantitative methods, the data collection technique is in the form of a questionnaire to a group of parents who actively use WhatsApp stickers in daily communication. The results showed that the use of WhatsApp stickers can increase emotional expression and creativity in parents' digital communication and how the use of these stickers affects their communication effectiveness in facing the challenges of modern digital communication. However, there is also the constraint that the use of WhatsApp stickers may compromise communication effectiveness in some contexts. Therefore, this study provides an in-depth insight into how the use of WhatsApp stickers affects digital communication among parents, with diverse impacts for the development of communication and interaction technologies. The conclusions of this study can help in developing an understanding of how parents interact with digital communication technologies.

Abstract

Indonesia's local cultural diversity plays an important role in the country's identity as the world's largest archipelago. The Ministry of Education and Culture records more than 67,273 cultural heritages, including immovable objects, movable objects, and intangible heritages. This diversity requires attention and preservation, especially from the younger generation as cultural successors. Public awareness, especially the younger generation, is very important in preventing the extinction of local culture in the midst of globalization. Mass media, especially documentary films, are considered an effective means to raise this awareness. This study examines the influence of the documentary film "Nada Nusantara" on the awareness of students of SMK Negeri 10 Bandung in preserving local culture. Using a quantitative descriptive method, this study questions the influence of frequency, attention, and quality of the documentary film on students' awareness. The results showed that the movie had a positive influence on students' awareness, contributing to their understanding and appreciation of local culture. The implications of this study can be used as a guideline in utilizing documentary films as an educational tool to enrich students' knowledge and awareness of Indonesia's local cultural heritage

Abstract

The purpose is to investigate the changing behavior of people in Cingcin Village in the face of digital transformation in television broadcasting. The research method used is qualitative, with data collection through field studies, observations, and interviews. The results revealed that the shift from analog to digital broadcasting has affected people's habits of enjoying television programming. There are variations in preferences for accessing television content, with some people preferring digital platforms because of ease of access, while others remain loyal to conventional television because of better image and sound quality. Besides, there are changes in social interaction, with some people watching more often with friends and family, while others prefer watching alone. A shift in the culture of watching television has also occurred, where the focus is now more fragmented and not just focused on the main time. The results also show that the residents of Cingcin Village have adopted a new habit in the face of digital television broadcasting. However, better infrastructure, education, and content diversification are needed to facilitate this transition. Better mobile application development and sustained analysis and monitoring are also needed to understand behavioral changes in deeper societies. Thus, the study provides valuable insights into how rural communities adapt to technological developments in television broadcasting and offers a number of suggestions for increasing the adoption of digital technology among indigenous populations.

Abstract

The online transportation industry is growing rapidly in the city of Bandung. Therefore, understanding the public relations communication patterns applied by online transportation applicators is very important. Effective communication patterns can strengthen relationships, increase trust levels, and increase partner loyalty to the company. However, if the communication pattern is not appropriate, it can cause obstacles, conflicts, and partner dissatisfaction. This study aims to analyze the communication patterns of public relations in online transportation applications with driver partners in the city of Bandung. The research method is descriptive-qualitative, with data collection techniques through interviews with eight driver partners of online transportation applications. The scientific findings show that communication barriers between applicators and driver-partners are related to differences in language, culture, communication understanding, and limited communication channels. However, applicators have implemented persuasive communication approach strategies by providing communication channels such as online forums and offline meetings to facilitate communication with partners. In conclusion, the importance of understanding and handling communication barriers in the public relations relationship between online transportation applicators and driver-partners Effective communication and the use of appropriate communication channels can strengthen working relationships, increase partner satisfaction, and build long-term loyalty.

Abstract

Startup digital kampus merupakan salah satu program yang kini mulai diadaptasi oleh hampir semua perguruan tinggi di Indonesia. Mahasiswa merupakan salah satu pengelola utama dalam menjalankan startup digital. Namun permasalahan yang sering dihadapi saat ini adalah banyaknya startup digital kampus yang gagal setelah direalisasikan oleh universitas. Penyebab utamanya adalah kurangnya proses adaptasi, dan komunikasi yang tidak dikuasai oleh setiap anggota.Padahal proses adaptasi ini sangat penting karena jika berhasil dilakukan dalam tim kerja, maka akan membuat kinerja dari tim tersebut menjadi lebih terstruktur. Dalam suatu startup digital kampus, tim menjadi salah satu faktor yang penting dan perlu diperhatikan, sebab ditengah bertumbuhnya startup digital kampus saat ini, tidak sedikit juga yang mengalami kegagalan yang disebabkan oleh faktor kualitas tim yang buruk. Fokus masalah dalam penelitian ini menyarankan pendekatan komunikasi yaitu kompetensi komunikasi dalam membangun tim. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis cara adaptasi yang dilakukan oleh setiap anggota startup digital kampus. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling, dengan cara observasi, wawancara mendalam kepada sembilan mahasiswa yang aktif sebagai anggota tim startup digital kampus dari universitas yang berbeda dan studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi komunikasi sangat berperan penting dalam proses adaptasi tim startup digital kampus. Tim startup digital kampus melakukan proses adaptasi dengan didasarkan pada dua tahapan awal yaitu pengalaman dan first impression. Kedua poin tersebut dijadikan sebagai dasar setiap anggota dalam melakukan proses adaptasi. Dengan komunikasi yang kompeten dan saling mengenal karakter dengan baik, maka akan memudahkan bagi seluruh anggota tim dalam berinteraksi, mengelola, menjalankan semua kegiatan startup digital kampus tersebut untuk mencapai target atau tujuan bersama. kompetensi komunikasi berperan penting dalam mengelola tim startup digital kampus. melalui interaksi komunikasi yang intens dan kesan pertama yang baik dapat menjaga kekompakan tim.
