Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of human resource (HR) capacity on the quality of community-based tourism (CBT) village management in Sragen Regency, Indonesia. The background of this research is based on the important role of human resources in supporting successful village tourism management, particularly in addressing the transition from an agriculture-based economy to a more professional and sustainable tourism sector. Although the CBT concept emphasizes community participation, the quality of village tourism management still faces challenges related to limited local human resource capacity. This research employs a quantitative approach with descriptive and verification design. Data were collected through structured questionnaires from 195 respondents consisting of village tourism managers, village officials, and local communities in Sragen Regency, selected using simple random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS version 4 to examine the relationships between the research variables. The results indicate that human resource capacity has a positive and significant effect on the quality of CBT village tourism management. This finding suggests that improvements in knowledge, skills, experience, and managerial capabilities of local communities play a crucial role in enhancing the effectiveness of tourism village management. Furthermore, human resource capacity is proven to be a key determinant in supporting participatory, professional, and sustainable village tourism management. This study implies that strengthening human resource capacity through education, training, and community empowerment should be prioritized in the development of village tourism. Therefore, the findings are expected to serve as a reference for local governments and tourism managers in formulating more effective and sustainable community-based tourism development strategies.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises in Indonesia still have a lot to improve to make work easier in each field. One of them is in the field of financial management and marketing. This time, many SMEs in Indonesia still use manual marketing and financial systems. This system is said to be manual because it still uses traditional methods such as manual financial calculations, and marketing processes that must use a face-to-face system. In this case, the service team describes these problems to improve the marketing and financial system in Sweet Potato SMEs. Because many of these places still use a manual system which will later be replaced with a website-based system. Results in the concept of financial management partner previously correct 75% have increased by as much as 90%. Then from the wrong concept of financial management from the previous 25% to 10%. This is an increase in partners' knowledge of the concept of financial management. Next is the management goal, before partners can answer correctly with a level of 70% to 100%. Then the partner answered incorrectly, from the previous 30% there was a decrease to 0%. The increase in partners' knowledge of financial management objectives is considered very high because it has reached 100%. The results on the importance of marketing management from the previous partner answered correctly 85% to 100% correct. Then from the previous `15% wrong result, it became 0% wrong. This has increased because partners know the importance of marketing management. Then in determining the target market, before the partners answered correctly by 70%, it became 100%. And the previous incorrect result of 30% becomes 0%. This increase in determining the target market increases the knowledge of Sweet Potato SME partners.

Abstract

Healthcare service quality is an important indicator of hospital performance and is influenced by the availability of medical equipment, healthcare worker competency, and effective hospital quality management. This study aimed to analyze the effects of medical equipment availability and healthcare worker competency on healthcare service quality, with hospital quality management as a mediating variable, among inpatients at a Type C hospital in Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan. This research employed a quantitative explanatory approach with a causal associative design. Data were collected from hospitalized patients using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicated that medical equipment availability, healthcare worker competency, and hospital quality management had significant positive effects on healthcare service quality. In addition, medical equipment availability and healthcare worker competency significantly influenced hospital quality management, which also served as a significant mediating variable in improving healthcare service quality. These findings suggest that enhancing healthcare service quality requires an integrated strategy involving adequate medical equipment, competent healthcare professionals, and a well-implemented hospital quality management system. Strengthening these aspects is expected to improve service performance and patient satisfaction, particularly in Type C hospitals.

Abstract

Digital transformation in the healthcare sector requires hospitals to optimize patient-centered care services to enhance competitiveness. Hospital operational success is often reflected in the volume of patient visits, which is influenced by the quality of the patient experience and the effectiveness of administrative digitization. This study aims to analyze the influence of patient experience on the volume of patient visits, with the digitization of registration and payment services as a mediating variable at Ciputra Hospital Surabaya. A quantitative approach using explanatory research methods was applied in this study. Data were collected from 250 respondents selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results show that patient experience has a strong unidirectional correlation with the adoption of digitalized registration and payment services. Furthermore, this digital integration has been shown to have a significant impact on increasing the volume of patient visits. Theoretically, the digitalization of registration and payment services serves as a significant mediator bridging the relationship between patient experience and patient visit decisions. These findings confirm that improving the patient experience through administrative automation can create process efficiency, ease of accessibility, and convenience, which are crucial for customer loyalty. From a managerial perspective, this study implies that strengthening digital infrastructure is a fundamental strategy for hospital management to improve service quality, strengthen market position, and ensure the sustainability of institutional competitiveness amidst the rapid digital transformation of healthcare services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Total Quality Management (TQM) implementation on patient loyalty with service quality and patient satisfaction as mediating variables at the Dental and Oral Polyclinic of Poncol Health Center, Magetan Regency. This research is motivated by the phenomenon of fluctuating patient revisit rates that showed a declining trend throughout 2025, indicating problems in maintaining patient loyalty. This research employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of all patients who made revisit visits to the Dental and Oral Polyclinic of Poncol Health Center during the period January-December 2025, totaling 441 people. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error, resulting in 137 respondents. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data analysis was performed using Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS version 4.1.6.6 software. The results showed that: (1) TQM has no direct effect on patient loyalty; (2) TQM has a positive and significant effect on service quality; (3) TQM has a positive and significant effect on patient satisfaction; (4) service quality has a positive and significant effect on patient loyalty; (5) patient satisfaction has no significant effect on patient loyalty; (6) service quality is proven to mediate the effect of TQM on patient loyalty; and (7) patient satisfaction is not proven to mediate the effect of TQM on patient loyalty. These findings reinforce TQM theory (Deming, 1986) and SERVQUAL theory (Parasuraman et al., 1988) which emphasize the importance of quality management implementation in improving service quality, which ultimately can shape patient loyalty. Practically, health center management is advised to focus efforts on improving service quality, particularly on aspects of environmental comfort, service speed, and medical staff interaction with patients, as well as ensuring that every system improvement can be applied to real services that are directly felt by patients.

Abstract

Frentho Valentino Efrath Reinati (Master of Management, Universitas Widya Gama Malang, 2025) entitled "The Effect of Human Resource Development and Transformational Leadership on Employee Performance with Work Commitment as a Mediator (Study at the Kupang City Civil Registration Office)", aims to analyze the direct and indirect effects between human resource development (HRD), transformational leadership, work commitment, and employee performance. This study uses an explanatory approach with a survey method on all employees of the Kupang City Civil Registration Office, totaling 77 respondents (saturated sample). Data analysis was carried out using Partial Least Square (PLS). The results of the study indicate that human resource development significantly influences employee performance and work commitment, while work commitment does not significantly influence employee performance. Furthermore, transformational leadership significantly influences work commitment, but does not directly influence performance. As a mediator, human resource development through work commitment does not significantly influence performance, while transformational leadership through work commitment significantly influences employee performance. These findings underscore the importance of human resource development and transformational leadership styles in improving public apparatus performance.

Abstract

Tourist villages play a strategic role in boosting local government revenue and ensuring equitable economic distribution among communities; however, uniform management approaches are often ineffective due to variations in potential and performance across villages. This study aims to identify the typology of tourist villages in Batu City based on eight tourism management variables: tourism facilities, infrastructure and accessibility, service quality, creative economy innovation, visitor satisfaction, entrepreneurial orientation, tourist visits, and competitive advantage. Primary data were collected through a questionnaire survey involving 1,152 respondents representing 384 Neighborhood Associations (RT) across 24 villages/sub-districts in three districts of Batu City, namely Batu District, Bumiaji District, and Junrejo District. Sample selection employed a proportional stratified sampling technique. The analytical methods used were a Systematic Literature Review to identify the research variables, followed by Cluster Analysis to group the villages/sub-districts based on similarities in their characteristics. The results indicate that the 24 tourist villages/sub-districts in Batu City can be classified into three clusters: Cluster 2 as the high-performing group (mean = 4.389), Cluster 1 as the moderate group (mean = 3.969), and Cluster 3 as the low-performing group (mean = 3.758). Each cluster exhibits significant differences in characteristics across all measured variables. These findings imply that development strategies for tourist villages must be differentiated and typology-based rather than uniform, ensuring that tourism management policies are more targeted and have a tangible impact on enhancing the competitive advantage of tourist villages in Batu City.
