Abstract

Rice trade was also influenced by the proximity factor between regions. This study analyzed the influence of spatial effects on rice exports in ASEAN countries. The analytical method used in this study is a quantitative method and Spatial panel data regression was used in analyzing spatial effects using panel data regression analysis.  The data used was panel data with a time series from 2005 to 2019 and between individuals covering 10 ASEAN member countries, namely the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar. Data processing was assisted by using the R Studio application. Based on the regression analysis of spatial panel data to see the spatial effect on intra-ASEAN rice exports, it can be concluded that there was a spatial effect on intra-ASEAN rice exports. In addition, the results of this study also show that there was a relatively weak spatial agglomeration in rice exports in the ASEAN region.

Abstract

The shrimp commodity greatly contributes to the total export value of the fisheries sub-sector in Indonesia. In 2021 Indonesia was ranked 4th as the world's largest frozen shrimp exporting country. However, the export value of this commodity still fluctuates every year, and there are still various obstacles to the NTM policy. This study aims to analyze the performance of Indonesian frozen shrimp trade in destination markets, the application of NTM policies to trade in Indonesian frozen shrimp commodities in destination markets, and the impact of NTM policies and other factors on Indonesian shrimp exports in destination markets. This study uses an inventory approach and a gravity model. The results of the study show that the performance of Indonesia's frozen shrimp export trade has a positive trend in the 2007-2021 period. The highest growth in Indonesia's frozen shrimp exports occurred in 2014, 29.59 per cent. China has the highest implementation of NTM policies in the form of SPS and TBT, with a total of 69 policies that have an impact on Indonesian shrimp exports. The results of the estimation of the impact of NTM and other influencing factors using the gravity model show that the exchange rate and population positively affect the export volume of Indonesian frozen shrimp. In contrast, the NTM policy imposed by the importing country does not significantly affect the export volume of Indonesian frozen shrimp.

Abstract

Attention to the negative impact of economic growth on the environment has emerged in the green economy paradigm. The utilization of hydropower can achieve green energy as part of green econony. To analyze the role of hydropower in driving Indonesia's green energy, the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) method was employed. The results show that increased electricity production from hydropower will reduce environmental damage. Meanwhile, the use of fossil fuels will harm the environment for short and long periods.  Indonesia is still in a scale of effect because environmental damage indicated by CO2 emission continuously increases due to economic activities. In addition, there is a bidirectional relationship between GDP and CO2 emissions. This means that Indonesia needs a sustainable economic growth. In addition, there is a bidirectional relationship between electricity production from hydropower and CO2 emissions. At the same time, a unidirectional causality presents from GDP to electricity production from hydropower, coal consumption to GDP, and consumption of oil and natural gas to CO2 emissions. The Indonesian government needs to establish policies which reduces consumption of fossil fuels, increases the investors’s interest in renewable energy, and expands the economic capacity to reach the expected turning point of the economic growth.

Abstract

Rice turns out as significant commodity in order to meet people’s needs of food on a half of the world's population. Rice is the most consumed commodity in Asia and wold, especially countries that are members of the ASEAN+3. The need for rice that is a basic necessity must be met, thus, the supply must be maintained as well to meet the needs of staple food, and every country conducts a trade through import activities. This study aims at examining whether there is a spatial interaction of rice import in the ASEAN+3. The results of the Moran I Test show that there is a spatial interaction on rice import in the ASEAN+3 towards 11 selected countries. Trade groupings (agglomeration) were also identified in the trade area. Identification of trade groupings occurs in several countries regarding countries that are in the low-high quadrant such as Vietnam, Thailand, Republic of Korea and Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how credit lending can improve MSEs performance, its impact on women micro and small entrepreneurs (PPMK) household welfare, and the determinants of their disinterest in subsidised loans. Using a sample of 82 PPMK households in Depok City and Bogor Regency with the Propensity Score Matching (PSM) method, the results showed loans could boost business income. Still, the government’s credit with low-interest rates is not the primary choice due to limited knowledge, an obligation for collateral, and religious issues such as usury. This study also shows government credit assistance can improve the welfare of MSE households.

Abstract

This study contributes to the existing literature by examining energy consumption, energy intensity and its determinants in Indonesia's aggregate and sectoral economy. Index Ideal Fisher uses to decompose two key determinants of changes in energy intensity - efficiency improvements and changes in economic activity - to analyze which determinant is more important in driving improvements in energy intensity. VAR/VECM analysis is used to determine which economic variables affect the aggregate intensity. The study found that energy intensity increased gradually. The main contributing factor in the national level is the changes in economic activity, while in the sectoral level is efficiency effect.

Abstract

Activity floating net cage (Karamba Jaring Apung-KJA) in Reservoir Cirata have beenover capacity, so that give the serious problems such as water quality degradation,algae-blooming, and up-welling. The objective of this research is to find the optimuminput cage net without and with cost externality. The objective, was solved by costfunction of KJA (cage net) culture activity with/without externality model. Theexternality of cage net culture to water body of Waduk Cirata has been gived a sedimentaccumulation until 325711 ton/year and make degradate of water quality. For cage netculture, water quality is environment input. Model research involved this externality inmodel of cost function. It is by internalize cost environmet as the one’s of costproduction. Input of production factor of KJA culture activity without externality werecost of seed, feed and labour, and with externality was added by cost of recoverysediment by dredging or exploition. Optimal input of seed 46,28 kg/plot, feed 1685,02kg/plot, 122,09 work person daya (wpd)/unit, activity without externality and optimalharvest product 938,16 kg. Abstract

Global value chains (GVC) were a phenomenon of production of goods or services that involved various countries acting as providers of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished goods. There was a GVC concept with a more specific scope, namely the Regional Value Chain (RVC). This concept was carried out by countries that had regional cooperation. ASEAN countries and several partner countries had a new regional cooperation agreement, namely the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). The presence of the RCEP agreement opened opportunities for Indonesia to contribute. Various production chains could be created. Longer production chains allowed the distribution of benefits from GVC to be uneven in each country. This needed to be watched out for, so it was necessary to conduct research on whether Indonesia's participation in the agricultural RVC of the RCEP region provided benefits for Indonesia or not. The type of data used in this research was secondary data in the form of cross-section data, consisting of the Inter-Country Input Output (ICIO) table sourced from the OECD, which was released in 2021. This research used input-output table methods and backward linkage and forward linkage methods of a country's sector (Indonesia and RCEP partners) so that its position in the RCEP production chain and the world could be known. The result was that Indonesia acted as a provider of raw materials in 21 types of RCEP industries. RCEP provided value added to Indonesian agriculture. Keywords: global value chain (gvc), inter-county input output table (ICIO), regional value chain (rvc), regional comprehensive economic partnership (rcep)
