Abstract

The design of a sound resonance practicum tool is designed to determine the differences in the speed of sound propagation in air in small pipes and large pipes. The tool is designed based on the concept of sound resonance which is carried out on large and small pipes immersed in water to find harmonic frequencies with the help of a frequency generator application of 1250, 1500 and 1750 Hz. The practical design of the tool and the simple experimental procedure make it easy to use. Experimental results on small pipes with a frequency of 1250, 1500 and 1750 Hz obtained the length of the air column (L) of 13.603, 11.33 and 9.73 m with the speed of sound in air (v) of 340, 340 and 340, 5m/s. In large pipes with a frequency of 1250, 1500 and 1750 Hz, the length of the air column (L) is 13.6, 11.34 and 9.73 m with the speed of sound in air (v) of 340, 340 and 340, 5m/s. Based on the experimental results, there is no difference in results and the relationship between the magnitude of the frequency and the length of the air column is the same, that is, it is inversely proportional, while the value of the speed of sound in air tends to be constant at a value of 340 m/s – 340.5 m/s.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to examine the influence of critical thinking abilities on the understanding of electromagnetic wave concepts among physics education students. To assess the impact of students' critical thinking abilities on their understanding of the subject matter, data was collected through the use of questionnaires. A sample of 30 physics education students participated in the study by answering questions related to their understanding of wave concept. The collected data was then analyzed using distribution tests, normal distribution tests (normalization tests), and simple linear regression. The results of the analysis indicated normality in the distribution test. X1 yielded a value of 0.404 > 0.05, indicating that the data for variable X1 followed a normal distribution. Similarly, Y1 yielded a value of 0.453 > 0.05, indicating that variable Y1 also exhibited a normal distribution. Furthermore, the results of the linearity test showed a significance value (sig.) for the linearity deviation of 0.088 > 0.05. Based on these results, it can be concluded that there is a significant linear relationship between the critical thinking skills variable (X) and the concept comprehension variable (Y). The simple linear regression test revealed a correlation (R) value of 0.723 between critical thinking abilities and the understanding of electromagnetic wave concepts. This correlation value indicates a positive relationship between the two variables. The ANOVA test demonstrated a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05, with an F value of 25.155 > F table 4.26. This implies that the regression model can be used to predict the variable of understanding wave concept material, suggesting a simultaneous influence between the critical thinking skills variable (X) and the concept comprehension variable (Y) in the wave material. In conclusion, this study sought to examine the impact of critical thinking abilities on the understanding of electromagnetic wave concepts among physics education students. The results indicate a significant and positive relationship between these variables, thereby providing insights into the importance of critical thinking in enhancing concept comprehension.

Abstract

Astronomi merupakan ilmu yang memiliki konsep pemikiran dan pemahaman yang terintegrasi secara simultan baik dalam perkembangan ilmunya, teknologinya, terapan teknisnya, maupun pendidikannya. Astronomi merupakan salah satu dari sekian banyak mata kuliah yang harus ditempuh oleh mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh motivasi belajar mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika Angkatan 2021 Universitas Jember terhadap pemahaman konsep astronomi. Variabel penelitian yang digunakan yakni motivasi belajar sebagai variabel bebas dan kemampuan pemahaman konsep astronomi sebagai variabel terikat. Motede penilitian yang digunakan ialah metode penilitian deskriptif kuantitatif regresi yang berfungsi untuk mengetahui seberapa persen pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap pemahaman konsep astronomi mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika angkatan 2021 Universitas Jember. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dengan cara menyebarkan kuesioner, dalam hal ini peneliti memberikan 5 soal mengenai motivasi belajar dan 10 soal tentang konsep astronomi. Sampel dari penelitian ini yakni 30 Mahasiswa pendidikan Fisika angkatan 2021 yang diambil dari 10 mahasiswa dari setiap kelasnya. Hasil penilitian menunjukkan nilai koefisien regresi bernilai positif sehingga dapat di katkan bahwasannya arah pengaruh variabel bebas dan variabel terikat berbanding lurus. Yakni dimana semakin besar motivasi belajar maka akan semakin banyak juga minat belajar dan pemahaman ilmu astronomi yang didapatkan. Jadi motivasi belajar memiliki pengaruh dalam pemahaman konsep astronomi pada mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika Angkatan 2021.

Abstract

Modules play an important role in learning, especially in physics subjects. Validity testing is conducted to assess the suitability of a teaching module. A module is considered valid when validators have declared it to be so. In this case, the researcher aims to analyze the validity of the presentation system of a problem-based learning (PBL) physics module on Circular Motion and its Applications. The method used is descriptive-qualitative. The descriptive-qualitative method is employed to describe the validity and suitability of the presentation system of the PBL-based physics module on Circular Motion and its Applications. This way, it can be determined whether the created physics module's presentation system is valid. Based on the validation results of the 'Physics Teaching Module Based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on Circular Motion and its Applications,' it is stated that this module meets the criteria for presentation and has been revised based on suggestions and feedback from the validator

Abstract

Learning media greatly determines the effectiveness and efficiency of achieving learning objectives. This development was carried out with the aim of making PBL-based physics worksheets on parabolic motion material and its application as an alternative medium for physics lessons. Parabolic motion is circular motion whose trajectory is a parabola. This study uses a research design methodologyResearch and Development or research and development. Based on the research results assessed by material experts and media experts that PBL-based physics worksheets on parabolic motion material and its implementation have a feasibility index of 80 and 87 which fall into the feasible category.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility of LKPD through validity activities. The research method used is descriptive quantitative research. The data was collected by providing an instrument in the form of LKPD, where the data in this study was in the form of data from the validation results of LKPD. The results of research on the validity of LKPD are based Problem Based Learning it can be seen that the average value of the total validation is 84.38% with a very good category. LKPD Physics based Problem Based Learning in class X Newton's Law material can be said to be valid and can be used as one of the teaching materials to support the physics learning process in accordance with the Independent Curriculum.

Abstract

Language validation aims to determine the accuracy of the use of language in the module. It is intended that the information to be conveyed by the module can be conveyed clearly to the reader. This research was conducted to determine the language validity of the PBL (Problem Based Learning) physics module on vector material to find out how appropriate it was for X grade students in high school. The method used in this research was a qualitative descriptive research method. By using a research procedure that was calculating the validation results obtained, then providing the criteria and categories of the percentage of the results of the assessment of the validity value. From the results of this study, the overall value of language validation was obtained, namely 81.25% with a very decent category.

But in fact, the implementation of learning that occurs is not contextual because the way teachers teach in class is still boring and less varied, so student involvement in the learning process in class becomes less active, both asking and answering questions. This study aims to determine the effect of using a problem-based learning model accompanied by a QuizWhizzer game on vocational students' critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes in Jember Regency. This study used a quantitative approach, specifically a true experimental design of a posttest-only control group. The study population consisted of class X students at SMK Negeri 1 Jember, with the sample comprising two classes selected from all classes at SMK Negeri 1 Jember. Data analysis of students' critical thinking skills using the Mann-Whitney U Test resulted in a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.038 < 0.05, which leads to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of Ha. Data analysis of students' physics learning outcomes using the Mann-Whitney U Test and hypothesis testing results resulted in a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.023 < 0.05, which leads to the rejection of H0 and acceptance of Ha. These findings indicate a significant effect of applying a problem-based learning model assisted by QuizWhizzer on students' critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes, especially on energy and its changes. With this research, teachers can design more effective learning models to support critical thinking skills and optimal student learning outcomes in physics learning accompanied by learning media by analysing student needs, selecting learning models, developing learning media, planning learning activities, and implementing them.

Abstract

This research purpose was to examine the effect of applying the guided inquiry learning model accompanied by a virtual laboratory on the results and motivation of studying physics in high school students. The chosen physics material is static fluid. The type of research used is a true experiment with the Posttest Only Control Group design. The population of this study was students of class XI MIPA at one of the public high schools in Mojokerto Regency. The sample was selected by cluster random sampling technique and assigned to class XI MIPA 1 as the control class and class XI MIPA 4 as the experimental class. The treatment was carried out three times and the next meeting was used for the post-test and questionnaire filling. Data on learning outcomes were obtained from post-test scores which were analyzed using the independent sample t-test technique, while motivational data were obtained from filling out questionnaires which were analyzed using the independent sample t-test technique. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is an effect of applying the guided inquiry learning model accompanied by a virtual laboratory on the results and motivation of studying physics in high school students. The results of this research are expected to be useful for teachers who experience problems in learning physics, especially in terms of the need for practical implementation.
