Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai analisis pemahaman konseptual dan prosedural siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika berdasarkan gaya belajar siswa, untuk memenuhi tujuan tersebut dilakukan penelitian kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif. Subjek dari penelitian ini terdiri dari enam orang. Keenam subjek penelitian tersebut dipilih berdasarkan kategori gaya belajar siswa kelas X  pada salah satu SMA di kabupaten Bulukumba. Dua subjek mewakili kategori gaya belajar visual (PAR dan MRK), dua subjek mewakili kategori gaya belajar auditorial (ARR dan HMY) dan dua subjek mewakili kategori gaya belajar kinestetik (MTA dan SZD). Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen utama yang didukung oleh instrumen yaitu kuesioner gaya belajar, tes pemahaman konseptual dan prosedural dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan subjek dengan gaya belajar visual dan subjek dengan gaya belajar auditorial telah memenuhi tiga indikator pemahaman konseptual. Sedangkan subjek dengan gaya belajar kinestetik yaitu Subjek MTA memenuhi tiga indikator pemahaman konseptual, dan subjek SZD hanya memenuhi dua indikator pemahaman konseptual. Untuk pemahaman prosedural semua subjek tidak memenuhi indikator pengetahuan tentang algoritma, pengetahuan tentang teknik dan metode serta kriteria untuk menentukan kapan harus menggunakan prosedur yang tepat. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa gaya belajar siswa tidak mempunyai hubungan dengan pemahaman konseptual dan proseduralnya.Kata kunci: Pemahaman Konseptual, Pemahaman Prosedural, Gaya BelajarAbstract. This Research aimed to obtain information about the analysis of student’s conceptual and procedural comprehending in solving mathematics problems based on learning styles, the aimed of this research was done by descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research consists of six people. The six subjects were chosen based on the learning style category of students of class X in SMA Bulukumba. Two subjects represented visual learning style categories (PAR and MRK), two subjects represented auditory learning styles categories (ARR and HMY) and two subjects represented kinesthetic learning styles categories (MTA and SZD). Instruments in this research were the researchers itself as the main instrument supported by the instrument of learning style questionnaire, conceptual and procedural comprehending test and interview guidelines. The results of this research indicate that subjects with visual learning styles and subjects with auditory learning styles meet three indicators of conceptual comprehending. Whereas the subject with kinesthetic learning styles is the subject of MTA meet three indicators of conceptual comprehending and the subject of SZD meet only two indicators of conceptual comprehending. For procedural comprehending all subjects do not meet the knowledge indicators of the algorithm, knowledge of techniques and methods and criteria for determining when to use appropriate procedures. Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang melibatkan dua kelompok yang diberi perlakuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep matematika antara siswa yang diajarkan menggunakan metode Mind Mapping dan metode Guided Note Taking. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen lembar observasi dan tes pemahaman konsep, dan. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar dengan metode pembelajaran Mind Mapping dan siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan metode pembelajaran Guided Note Taking pada kelas VIII. This study aims to find out a differences in understanding of mathematical concepts between students taught using the Mind Mapping method and the Guided Note Taking method. The study sample consisted of two classes selected using the cluster random sampling technique . Data collection is done by using observation sheets and concept understanding test instruments. Data collected was analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results showed that there are significant differences between increasing understanding of mathematical concepts of students taught by Mind Mapping learning methods and students taught using Guided Note Taking learning methods in class VIII. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa berdasarkan tingkat kepercayaan diri pada materi statistika. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 3 orang siswa kelas XI SMK di kabupaten Kabupaten Soppeng, yaitu 1 siswa dengan kepercayaan diri tinggi (KDT), 1 siswa dengan kepercayaan diri sedang (KDS) dan 1 siswa dengan kepercayaan diri rendah (KDR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) KDT mengomunikasikan ide matematisnya dalam bentuk diagram lebih baik dibanding subjek lain. KDT menganalisis dan menjelaskan ide matematis secara lebih rinci dan detail. KDT menulis penyelesaian serta memberikan alasan yang jelas dari pernyataan yang ungkapkannya (2) KDS mampu mengomunikasikan ide matematisnya ke dalam bentuk diagram, namun kurang mampu menentukan interval nilai yang digunakan dengan tepat. KDS mampu menganalisis dan mampu menjelaskan ide matematis secara lisan, namun tidak mampu menjelaskan strategi penyelesaian secara lisan. KDS kurang mampu menulis penyelesaian dengan informasi yang lengkap, namun sudah mampu memberikan alas an dari sebuah pernyataan yang diungkapkan; (3) KDR mampu mengomunikasikan ide matematisnya ke dalam bentuk diagram, namun kurang mampu menentukan interval nilai yang digunakan dengan tepat. KDR kurang mampu menganalisis ide matematis dan tidak mampu menjelaskan strategi dalam membuat diagram. KDR sudah mampu menulis penyelesaian namun tidak mampu memberikan alasan terhadap pernyataan yang diungkapkan.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan komunikasi matematis, kepercayaan diri The purpose of the research was to describe students’ mathematical communication abilities based on their levels of self-confidence in topic of statistics. The subjects were 3 students of class XI SMK in Soppeng. They were one student with high self-confidence (KDT), one student with medium self-confidence (KDS) and one student with low self-confidence (KDR). The results showed that (1) KDT communicate mathematical ideas in diagrams better than others. KDT analyze and explain mathematical ideas in detail. KDT could write and give clear reasons; (2) KDS could communicate mathematical ideas in diagrams, but in determining the interval of values used, KDS could not do it correctly. KDS could analyze and explain ideas orally but unable to explain strategies used in making diagrams orally. KDS could not answer with complete information but could provide reasons; (3) KDR could communicate mathematical ideas in diagrams, but in determining the interval of values used, KDR could not do it correctly. KDR was less able to analyze mathematical ideas and unable to explain the strategies used in making diagram. KDR had been able to write answer but not able to give reasons.Keywords: Mathematical communication abilities, self-confidence

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran LAPS-Heuristik dengan kriteria yaitu pengetahuan prosedural, aktivitas siswa dan respon siswa. Sampel dipilih secara acak dari populasi sebanyak satu kelas dari lima kelas VIII salah satu SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Wajo tahun ajaran 2017/2018 semester genap. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes pemahaman awal (pretest) pada pertemuan awal dan tes pengetahuan prosedural (posttest) pada pertemuan akhir, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, dan angket respon siswa. Data tersebut dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian secara deskriptif diperoleh, 1) Peningkatan prestasi belajar ditinjau dari skor gain ternormalisasi diperoleh rata-rata sebesar 0,6704 dengan standar deviasi 0,21822, 2) Keterlaksanaan pembelajaran terlaksana dengan sangat baik dengan rerata 3,85, 3) Hasil observasi aktivitas siswa berada pada rata-rata 95%, dan 4) Peningkatan pengetahuan prosedural siswa ditinjau melalui skor gain ternormalisasi mencapai rata-rata sebesar 0,6704 berada pada kategori sedang. Secara inferensial diperoleh 1) Pengujian hipotesis untuk pengetahuan prosedural diperoleh nilai  ttabel = 2,080, α = 0,05 dan thitung = 20,761, dan 2) Pengujian hipotesis untuk gain ternormalisasi diperoleh thitung = 14,409. Berdasarkan hasil analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial maka disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran LAPS-Heuristik efektif dalam pembelajaran matematika pokok bahasan garis singgung persekutuan dua lingkaran.Kata kunci:Efektivitas, Pengetahuan Prosedural, LAPS-HeuristikAbstract.This research is to determine the effectiveness of implementation LAPS-Heuristic learning model in students grade VIII one ofSMP Negeri at Wajo regency with criteria,procedural knowledge, student activities and student responses.. The data were collected using initial knowledge test (pretest) at the first meeting and procedural knowledge test (posttest) at the final meeting, learning feasibility observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, and student’s response questionnaire.Research result descriptively obtained 1) Improvement of learning achievement in terms of normalized gain score obtained an average 0.6704 with standard deviation 0.21822, 2) Learning feasibility was done very well with average 3.85, 3) The results of student activity observation is in average percentage 95%, and 4) The increase of student’s procedural knowledge is reviewed through normalized gain score 0.6704 is in the medium category. Inferentially obtained 1) Hypothesis test for procedural knowledge obtained value of ttable = 2.080 with value α = 0,05 and tcount = 20,761, and 2) Hypothesis test for normalized gain obtained tcount= 14,409. Based on the results, LAPS-Heuristic learning model is effective to implement in mathematics learning on the subject of tangent line to two circles.Keyword: Effectiveness, Procedural Knowledge,LAPS-Heuristic.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen Semu (Quasi Experiment) yang melibatkan dua kelompok yang diberi perlakuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan pemahaman konsep matematika antara siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) dan model pembelajaran Reciprocal Teaching (RT). Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrument tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa dan lembar observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran  Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) lebih baik untuk diterapkan di kelas VIII di salah satu Sekolah Menegah Pertama Negeri (SMPN) di Kabupaten Barru (2) Pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) lebih baik dari pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran Reciprocal Teaching (RT) dalam pembelajaran matematika pada dikelas VIII di salah satu Sekolah Menegah Pertama Negeri (SMPN) di Kabupaten Barru.Kata Kunci: Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR),Reciprocal Teaching (RT), pemahaman konsep.   Abstract. The research applied quasi-experimental design involving two groups that received treatment. The objective of the research was to find out the comparison of mathematics concept understanding between students who were taught by using Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) and Reciprocal Teaching (RT) Learning Method. The sample of the research consisted of two classes who were decided by cluster random sampling technique. The data were collected through the ability of students’ mathematics concept understanding instrument test and observation. The result of the research showed that 1) The learning process by using Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning method was better to be applied in the VIII class of junior high school (SMPN) in Barru district 2) The students’ understanding of mathematics concepts that was taught by using Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) was better than their understanding of mathematics concept that was taught by Reciprocal Teaching (RT) in learning Mathematics in the VIII class of junior high school (SMPN) in Barru district.Keyword: Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR), Reciprocal Teaching (RT), Concept Understanding.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir matematis, khususnya berpikir matematis tingkat tinggi (high order mathematical thinking) sangat diperlukan oleh siswa agar siswa sanggup menghadapi perubahan keadaan atau tantangan-tantangan yang ada dalam kehidupan yang selalu berkembang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan Analisis kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa di Sma Negeri 5 Wajo. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini menggunakan siswa kelas XII IPA 1 Sma Negeri 5 Wajo yang ditinjau dari kemampuan awal yang berjumlah 3 orang. Subjek yang diambil menggunakan tes kemampuan awal, kemudian subjek diberikan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik dan diwawancarai. Data tes kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik dan wawancara setiap subjek penelitian dideskripsika. Beradasarkan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa, Analisis kemampuan berpikir kritis matematik siswa ditinjau dari kemampuan awal dengan menggunakan Graded Response Model (GRM) diketahui bahwa kemampuan awal tinggi, sedang dan rendah menunjukkan kemampuan berpikir krtis matematik sama yaitu pada tahap rata-rata antara 1,00 sampai -1,00 Kata kunci: Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Matematik, Graded Response Model (GRM)Abstract. Mathematical thinking ability, particularly the high level of mathematical thinking (high-order mathematical thinking) badly needed by students in order to make students able to confront changes in circumstances or challenges they have in life is always developing. This study aims to describe the mathematical analysis of the critical thinking ability of students in SMA Negeri 5 Wajo.This research was qualitative with the descriptive approach. The subject in this study using a XII IPA 1 grade in SMA Negeri 5 Wajo reviewed from an initial capability that add up to 3 people. The subject is taken using the test ability early, then the subject is given a test of mathematical and critical thinking abilities were interviewed. Test data of mathematical and critical thinking abilities interview each of the subject is described.On the analysis of the data it can be concluded that the ability of critical thinking, analysis of the mathematical ability of students beginning by using Graded Response Model (GRM) noted that the ability of the initial of the high, medium and low indicating the same mathematics critical thinking ability in stages an average between 1,00 to -1,00Keyword: Mathematics Critical Thinking Ability, Graded Response Model (GRM)

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the links between mathematical learning strategy and interpersonal intelligence of high school students at Makassar. The research method used is explorative and quantitative research. The population of this study is Makassar high school students, and the sample is students of class XI SMAN 8 Makassar and SMAN 22 Makassar. The data analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics with analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results obtained were descriptions of students’ interpersonal intelligence in experimental class is in the high category, while the descriptions of students’ interpersonal intelligence in control class is in the low and middle category. The results of inferential statistical analysis shows that students’ interpersonal intelligence at Makassar high school in experimental class is better than the students’ interpersonal intelligence in control class, this means there is a link between mathematical learning strategy and interpersonal intelligence of high school students at Makassar.

Abstract

This research applies problem based learning with deductive-inductive approach to the course of ordinary differential equation (PDB). This study aims to apply problem-based learning steps involving the student's deductive-inductive thinking approach, applying the teaching materials of PDB involving the student's deductive-inductive thinking approach, but it is also expected that these teaching materials can maximize the deductive-inductive thinking approach, and help students improve their way of thinking, based on the material characteristics of PDB.The research method used is classroom action research, to maximize the deductive-inductive thinking ability of the students. As the paradigm of class action research, the implementation of this research includes planning activities, actions, observation and cyclic reflection, the implementation is divided into two cycles, the first cycle is for two months or seven meetings, and the second cycle is also for two months or seven meetings in the Semester Academic Year  2016/2017, which amounted to 30 students, at Mathematics Department FMIPA UNM Makassar.The results of the first cycle of this study show that problem-based learning with deductive-inductive approaches helps a lot of students, even though at first the students still seem unwilling to apply how their mindset in learning and solving problems. After being given some strengthening, in the following weeks the interaction of learning progressed significantly. Learning scenarios and teaching materials as guidelines for the implementation of lecturing activities, in line with the tendency of the student's deductive-inductive thinking approach. In the second cycle, it shows that the students have been able to handle the problems themselves in applying the inductive-deductive approach, both in terms of improvements of the mindset, the way of starting it and the logic used in working on the problems. Key words: Problem based learning, Deductive-inductive approach, PDB

Abstract

This study is a quantitative study with an ex post facto approach aimed at knowing the effect of self-potential, study habits and numerical abilities on the mathematics learning outcomes of junior high school students. The sample in this study was 78 students of SMP class VIII who were selected using simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used in this research is the test and questionnaire method. The instruments used are self-potential questionnaires, study habits questionnaires, numerical ability tests and mathematics learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that: (1) Self-potential, study habits and numerical abilities together had an effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes, (2) Self-potential had a negative but not significant effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes, (3) study habits have a significant positive effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes, (4) numeric abilities have a significant positive effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The mathematics substance is abstract, therefore applying a teaching aids namely Meqip become very important, because students will more easily understand the abstract mathematical concept and principles. The Community Partnership Program (PKM) is held at SD Inpres Mangasa, Gowa Regency. The results of PKM activities are: (1) By using Meqip, students are more enthusiastic in learning mathematics, especially on the plane geometry topic because the activity done is not only sitting and listening to the teacher's description, but also other activities such as observing and seeing all  objects directly in Meqip teaching aids, conducting gradual exploration, demonstrating the physical objects of teaching aids, which can improve the students' mastery on the plane geometry topic, (2) This PKM implementation activity, shows that the enthusiasm of the teachers to respond the presented material of PKM program has increased. This is indicated by the amount of teachers  who ask questions, suggestions and criticisms, as well as providing a solutive view on the application of Meqip teaching aids, and (3) There was a significant increase of teacher's knowledge and understanding regarding the elementary  mathematics concepts. Learning mathematics through Meqip teaching aids can improve the insight of mathematics teachers and make them become more creative, while students will be more enthusiastic in learning mathematics, which also can improve the students' mathematics learning outcomes in elementary school.
