Abstract

This research applies problem based learning with deductive-inductive approach to the course of ordinary differential equation (PDB). This study aims to apply problem-based learning steps involving the student's deductive-inductive thinking approach, applying the teaching materials of PDB involving the student's deductive-inductive thinking approach, but it is also expected that these teaching materials can maximize the deductive-inductive thinking approach, and help students improve their way of thinking, based on the material characteristics of PDB.The research method used is classroom action research, to maximize the deductive-inductive thinking ability of the students. As the paradigm of class action research, the implementation of this research includes planning activities, actions, observation and cyclic reflection, the implementation is divided into two cycles, the first cycle is for two months or seven meetings, and the second cycle is also for two months or seven meetings in the Semester Academic Year  2016/2017, which amounted to 30 students, at Mathematics Department FMIPA UNM Makassar.The results of the first cycle of this study show that problem-based learning with deductive-inductive approaches helps a lot of students, even though at first the students still seem unwilling to apply how their mindset in learning and solving problems. After being given some strengthening, in the following weeks the interaction of learning progressed significantly. Learning scenarios and teaching materials as guidelines for the implementation of lecturing activities, in line with the tendency of the student's deductive-inductive thinking approach. In the second cycle, it shows that the students have been able to handle the problems themselves in applying the inductive-deductive approach, both in terms of improvements of the mindset, the way of starting it and the logic used in working on the problems. Key words: Problem based learning, Deductive-inductive approach, PDB

Abstract

Learning and teaching materials are two things that complement each other. Learning will work if equipped with teaching materials such as textbooks and LKM. The learning process must be able to increase the independence and creativity of students so that their skills are more focused and produce output that is ready to face challenges in the 21st century. One of the alternative 21st-century learning methods that is appropriate to use is the blended learning method . The implementation of the blended learning method will work effectively if it is equipped with teaching materials such as textbooks and LKM as reference materials for students in learning. Therefore, in this study developed STAD type cooperative teaching materials with the blended learning method . The method used in this research is Nieveen's (1999) development method which includes the initial investigation stage, the prototype stage, and the assessment stage. The results of the development showed that: (1) the expert's assessment of the STAD cooperative model teaching materials (textbooks and LKM) with the blended learning method was feasible to use, (2) the trial results of the STAD cooperative model teaching materials with the blended learning method were practically used by lecturers and students in learning and effective for students mastering the material system of linear equations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan dalam menyelesaian soal cerita sistem persamaan linier dua variabel berdasarkan prosedur Newman ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa kelas VIII SMP. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif bersifat deskriptif. Dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, maka dipilih 3 subjek penelitian yaitu satu siswa pada setiap jenis gaya belajar yaitu visual, auditorial, kinestetik. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah angket gaya belajar, tes soal cerita sistem persamaan linier dua variabel dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisis data meliputi kondensasi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek dengan gaya belajar visual melakukan kesalahan penulisan jawaban akhir, subjek dengan gaya belajar auditorial melakukan keterampilan proses dan penulisan jawaban akhir, dan subjek dengan gaya belajar kinestetikal melakukan kesalahan memahami masalah, transformasi, keterampilan proses dan penulisan jawaban akhir.Kata kunci: Kesalahan, Sistem Persamaan Linier Dua Variabel, Prosedur Newman, Gaya Belajar.This study aims to describe errors in solving two-variable linear equation system story problems based on the Newman procedure in terms of the learning styles of class VIII junior high school students. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. By using purposive sampling technique, 3 research subjects were selected, namely one student in each type of learning style, namely visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The instruments used in data collection were a learning style questionnaire, test questions about a two-variable linear equation system and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques include data condensation, data presentation, drawing conclusions. The results showed that subjects with visual learning style made mistakes encoding error, subjects with auditory learning style performed processing skills error and encoding error, and subjects with kinesthetic learning styles made mistakes in comprehension error, transformation error, process skills error and enconding error.Key Words: error, two-variable system of linear equations, newman's procedure, learning style

Abstract

This study is qualitative research that aimed to get the analysis result of the mathematical connection ability of undergraduates with low, moderate, and high initial ability at vector spaces topic. The research subjects are three undergraduate students in the fourth semester in the mathematics department, one for each initial ability category. The research data was obtained by mathematical connection ability tests and in-depth interviews. These data were analyzed based on two mathematical connection ability indicator, that is (1) connect mathematical ideas, in forms of fact, concept, principle, and skill at the same topic, and (2) connect mathematical ideas, in forms of fact, concept, principle, and skill at two different topics. The first indicator is described by how subjects connect algebraic and geometric representations of a spanning set of vector space. Meanwhile, the second indicator is described by how subjects connect a fact about trace with set membership concept. The results of the study reveal that the subject with low and moderate initial ability did not know some mathematics basic knowledge, such as vector addition in cartesian coordinates and trace of matrix. That is why the subject cannot connect mathematical ideas. Subject with high initial ability understands algebraic representation of a mathematical concept, but not that good at understanding geometric representation. The subject has good knowledge about mathematical terms, such as the trace of a matrix, and can use it to explain a mathematical concept.Keywords: Initial Ability, Mathematical Connection, Connection Problem, Mathematics Learning Object, Vector Space.

Abstract

This study aims to decide the impact of vocabulary mastery on the reading comprehension of junior high school students. This study utilized a quantitative strategy with simple linear regression analysis. This research data was collected through a test consisting of vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. The sample of the research was determined using random sampling. There are 59 students from SMP Negeri 2 Pangkajene and 16 students from SMP Negeri 4 Pangkajene. The aftereffects of this study show that there is an impact of vocabulary mastery on students’ reading comprehension. It is clear from the consequences of the computation of the correlation (R) is 0.573 with a coefficient of determination (R Square) of 0.329 which infers that the impact of the independent variable (vocabulary mastery) on the dependent variable (reading comprehension) was 32.9%. This shows that i 0.000 < 0.05. The conclusion is (Ho) is dismissed and (Ha) is acknowledged.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the results of using Youtube media in improving students' vocabulary mastery in class XI MAN 1 Barru. This research uses the quantitative method. This research is a type of Classroom Action Research. The research data was collected using multiple-choice tests consisting of pre-test and post-test. The sample of this study was cluster random sampling with the assumption that class XI MAN 1 Barru was homogeneous or the same there were 23 students in class XI. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in students' vocabulary mastery and activities in learning English through the use of Youtube Videos. that the mastery of vocabulary through the use of Youtube videos obtained in cycle I and cycle II there is a significant increase. This increase can be seen by an increase in vocabulary mastery where in the first cycle there are (26.09%) of students have achieved a complete score or score with an average value of 65.07 while in the second cycle, it increases to (100%) of students who have achieved a complete score with an average score of 84.49. This means that it shows an increase in students who get complete scores (73.91%).

Abstrak. Adapun tujuan dalam penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Treffinger terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 2 Majene. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan penelitian Pre-eksperimental dengan bentuk One-Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah cluster random sampling. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan ialah teknik analisis deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa: (1) nilai rata-rata hasil pretest siswa yaitu 54,99 pada kategori rendah dan nilai rata-rata hasil posttest siswa yaitu 70,39 pada kategori tinggi; (2) skor rata-rata gain ternormalisasi sebesar 0,36 pada kategori sedang. Hasil analisis inferensial menunjukkan bahwa: (1) nilai pemahaman konsep matematika siswa setelah diajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Treffinger lebih besar dari 54,99 atau secara signifikan melebihi nilai ketuntasan minimum untuk tes pemahaman konsep matematika siswa; (2) nilai gain ternormalisasi peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa lebih besar dari 0,30 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan yang signifikan pada tes pemahaman konsep matematika siswa setelah penerapan model pembelajaran Treffinger; (3) jumlah siswa yang mencapai nilai ketuntasan minimum pada posttest pemahaman konsep matematika siswa lebih besar dari 80% dimana secara signifikan melebihi persentase kriteria keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Treffinger berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika pada pokok bahasan barisan dan deret siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 2 Majene.Kata kunci: Model pembelajaran treffinger, Pemahaman konsep matematika. Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan ex post facto bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh potensi diri, kebiasaan belajar dan kemampuan numerik terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa SMP. Sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 78 siswa SMP kelas VIII yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode tes dan angket. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket potensi diri, angket kebiasaan belajar, tes kemampuan numerik dan tes hasil belajar matematika. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Potensi diri, kebiasaan belajar dan kemampuan numerik secara bersama-sama berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa,(2) Potensi diri berpengaruh negatif tetapi tidak signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa,(3) Kebiasaan belajar berpengaruh positif secara signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa,(4) Kemampuan Numerik berpengaruh positif secara signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Kata kunci: Potensi Diri, Kebiasaan Belajar, Kemampuan Numerik, Hasil Belajar Matematika. Abstract.  This study is a quantitative study with an ex post facto approach aimed at knowing the effect of self-potential, study habits and numerical abilities on the mathematics learning outcomes of junior high school students. The sample in this study was 78 students of SMP class VIII who were selected using simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used in this research is the test and questionnaire method. The instruments used are self-potential questionnaires, study habits questionnaires, numerical ability tests and mathematics learning outcomes tests. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that: (1) Self-potential, study habits and numerical abilities together had an effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes, (2) Self-potential had a negative but not significant effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes, (3) study habits have a significant positive effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes, (4) numeric abilities have a significant positive effect on students' mathematics learning outcomes. Keywords: Self Potential, Study Habits, Numerical Ability, Mathematics Learning Outcomes.

Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Treffinger berpengaruh terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika pada pokok bahasan barisan dan deret siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 2 Majene.Kata kunci: Model pembelajaran treffinger, Pemahaman konsep matematika. Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis level kognitif siswa berdasarkan Taksonomi Bloom yang memiliki gaya belajar visual, audiotori, dan kinestetik pada kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Pallangga Kabupaten Gowa, tahun 2020/2021. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII.4 SMP Negeri 4 Pallangga Kabupaten Gowa dengan 3 orang subjek, yaitu 1 orang siswa dengan gaya belajar visual, 1 orang siswa dengan gaya belajar audiotori, dan 1 orang siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri sebagai instrumen utama yang dibantu dengan angket/kuesioner gaya belajar, dan tes soal essay serta wawancara yang didesain berdasarkan level kognitif berdasarkan indikator Taksonomi Bloom. Tahapan analisis data dalam penelitian ini yaitu analisis data skala gaya belajar dan alalisis data level kognitif siswa materi ajar SPLDV dengan menggunakan kondensasi data, penyajian data dan menarik kesimpulan. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Siswa dengan gaya belajar visual memenuhi indikator C1-C4 karena mampu mengingat, memahami, mengamplikasikan, dan menganalisis; (2) Siswa dengan gaya belajar audiotori memenuhi indikator C1-C4 karena mampu mengingat, memahami, dan mengamplikasikan, dan menganalisis; serta (3) Siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik memenuhi indikator C1-C4 karena mampu mengingat, memahami, mengaplikasikan, dan menganalisis. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa dengan gaya belajar visual, audiotori, dan kinestetik High Order Thinking Skill pada level kognitif berdasarkan Taksonomi Bloom. Kata Kunci: Taksonomi Bloom, Visual, Audiotori, Kinestetik, SPLDV
