Abstract

The aim of the research is to increase the motivation and science process skills of second semester biology students in the Plant Morphology course using the Environmental Exploration (JAS) method. The background to this research is the lack of direct use of learning resources from nature by students, learning resources usually come from books, direct materials and learning media provided by course lecturers. The subjects in this research were biology students at the Mandalika Education University (UNDIKMA) second semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The type of research used is PTK using questionnaire instruments and observation sheets. The results of research on the implementation of the use of environmental exploration methods can increase students' learning motivation in cycle II, showing the highest score, namely 168 and the lowest score, namely 129, with an average score of 148.34 from a total sample of 25 students. This indicates an increase in students' learning motivation and can improve students' science process skills in plant morphology courses in the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

LKPD is a teaching material product that is often used by teachers. The development of LKPD that integrates HOTS questions is needed to increase students' motivation and science process activities. This study aims to determine the validity, and feasibility of using LKPDs integrated with HOTS in class X biodiversity biology material at Al-Hamzar High School. The research method with the type of research is the development of the 4D model (Defaine the definition stage of development needs, Designe the LKPD design stage, Develop the LKPD manufacturing stage with expert validation, and Disseminate the dissemination stage through limited trials). The research instrument used hots-based LKPD and expert validation sheets.  The results of the research on the validation results of teaching materials with a score range of 159.99 <X with a very feasible category and on the material validation sheet are valid with several revisions by three expert validators, namely teaching material validators, material validators and language validators. HOTS LKPD is used in the learning process to determine the extent to which students understand the biodiversity of living things.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to know about the influence of learning Science using scientific approach with fun science to learning motivation of JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL students, the influence of learning Natural Science using scientific approach with fun science towards an understanding of the concept of Natural Science of JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL students, and the influence of learning Natural Science using scientific approach with fun science to learning motivation and understanding of the concept of Natural Science of JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL students. The object of this research is the VII grade students with "change in physics and chemical changes" learning material. This is a quasi experiment research with Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Control Group Design conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Panyabungan Utara . The sample in this research were determined with cluster random sampling techniques, therefore it resulted VII A class as the control class and VII B class as the experimental class. The treatment given to the experimental class was using scientific approach to learn with fun science (blobs in a bottle, ice cream, rapid color-changing chemistry, and merapi vulcano), while in the control class was the implementation of EEK learning-based (exploration, Elaboration, and confirmation). The students’ learning motivation data was obtained using students’ learning motivation observation sheets. The students’ understanding of Natural Science data were collected by giving tests before (pretest) and after (posttest) learning. The Hypothesis testing was done by using a manova test after the test met the prerequisites. A prerequisite tests conducted were normality tests and homogeneity test. The results showed that learning using scientific approach with fun science has significantly impact on the students’ learning motivation and understanding concept of Natural Science. The influence of the scientific approach with fun science learning motivation up to 20,1% by average grade learning motivation experiments reached category enough. Scientific approach with fun science also has an impact on the students’ understanding of the concept of Natural Science up to 24,2% with an average increased to reached the category medium.

Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi sikap kewirausahaan terhadap minat berwirausaha mahasiswa. Studi ini merupakan penelitian ex post facto dengan pendekatan deskriptif eksploratif dengan subyek penelitian sebanyak 56 mahasiswa pendidikan biologi. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket tertutup dengan skala Likert dan yang telah divalidasi (validasi ahli). Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan uji Regresi Linier. Hasil studi yaitu (1) sikap kewirausahaan mahasiswa sebesar 3,13 dengan kategori Baik, sedangkan minat berwirausaha mahasiswa sebesar 3,11 dengan kategori Baik; (2). Tidak ada pengaruh yang signifikan sikap kewirausahaan terhadap minat berwirausaha mahasiswa dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,418 lebih besar dari nilai alpha pengujian 0,05 (>0.05); (3) Sikap kewirausahaan berkontribusi terhadap minat berwirausaha mahasiswa sebesar 1,2% (R Square = 0,012) dan sisanya dipengaruhi variabel atau faktor lainnya.

Abstract

This study aims to describing biology students’ perceptions of entrepreneurial interest. This study is an exploratory research with 55 biology education students as respondents. The research instrument used was a closed questionnaire with degraded answers according to a Likert scale that had been validated by experts and declared valid. Analysis of research data used is descriptive quantitative statistics and inferential statistics with Anova test at a significance level of 5%. The results of the study show that (1) the perceptions of biology education students regarding entrepreneurial interest are as follows: second-semester students have an average score of 3.05 with a category of Tall, fourth-semester students have an average score of 3.01 with a category of Tall, sixth-semester students have an average score of 3.23 with a category of Tall, and eighth-semester students have an average score of 3.00 with a category of Tall; (2) no significant difference in the perceptions of second, fourth, sixth, and eighth-semester students regarding entrepreneurial interest, which is proven by a significance value of 0.554, which is greater than 0.05 (>0.05).

Abstract

Processing of plants as medicine or as industrial products is mostly done nowadays, for example in the beauty industry. Rossa damascena is a plant that can be used as a medicinal plant. This flower has many benefits, its essential oil and extract have long been used in body wash products, perfumes, skin lotions and medicines. However, there is not much management and distribution of drugs circulating in the community. The processing of these medicinal plants is a promising matter for pharmacists, because utilizing medicinal plants to be used as medicine can expand the nomenclature of drugs. The method used is the collection and screening of data that has inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results obtained are various information regarding the compound content and its potency contained in Rosa damascena.

Abstract

Agriculture is one of the key aspects of a nation’s survival. In support of the Astacita Program of the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, which aims for food self-sufficiency, this research focuses on the topic of food security. In practice, food security faces several challenges, such as production that does not meet quality standards and very low productivity levels. One example is the cultivation of Kalimantan honey bees. Honey is one of Kalimantan’s natural resources that is highly beneficial for enhancing the human immune system. According to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 8664:2018, the acceptable water content in honey should be less than 22%. However, in reality, the water content in honey often exceeds 22%, reaching up to 27%. The purpose of this research is to reduce the water content in honey so that its shelf life can be extended to six months, making it suitable for export. This study employs an Internet of Things (IoT) approach, involving the stages of planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and evaluation. The research produced a device capable of reducing the water content of  Trigona honey (27%) to meet SNI standards within 5 hours, Cerana honey (43%) within 7 hours, and Dorsata honey (30%) within 9 hours. The use of this device proved effective in lowering honey’s water content to below 22%, in compliance with SNI standards, which means the honey becomes more durable, marketable, and exportable. This research is expected to contribute to strengthening food security in the city of Balikpapan.

Abstract

The background of this study is to utilize the school environment as a learning medium to implement innovative learning processes and shape students' character, that learning can be done anywhere and anytime as long as it follows the existing learning system references. The purpose of this study is to improve science process skills and student learning outcomes through a learning model of exploring the environment. The type of research used is Class Action Research (PTK). This research was carried out in class XD with a total of 30 students. Data analysis techniques use quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. The results of the research from cycle I to cycle II of students' science process skills in the observing aspect increased with the very good category, the classification aspect with the good category, the predictive aspect with the good category, the concluding aspect with the very good category, and the communication aspect with the very good category. The learning outcomes of students in the first cycle were obtained by 11 students who did not reach the KKM >70, and in the second cycle 4 people. Thus, it can be concluded that the Exploring the Environment (JAS) learning model can improve science process skills and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Workplace accidents in healthcare settings remain a significant concern. Lack of understanding and implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) can increase the risk of workplace accidents among healthcare workers. This community service program aims to improve knowledge, attitudes, and skills of healthcare workers in implementing OHSMS to reduce workplace accidents. The method used was participatory training and practice-based approach through education, interactive discussions, simulations, and evaluation. The activity was conducted on January 23–25, 2026, at RSUD Haji Makassar, involving 25 healthcare workers. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test, post-test, and skill observation. The results showed an increase in participants’ knowledge from an average score of 60.5 to 86.3. Participants also demonstrated improved understanding and skills in implementing OHSMS principles in the workplace. In conclusion, OHSMS implementation training is effective in improving healthcare workers’ competencies and has the potential to reduce workplace accident risks. Kurangnya pemahaman dan implementasi Sistem Manajemen Kesehatan dan Keselamatan Kerja (SMK3) dapat meningkatkan risiko kejadian kecelakaan kerja pada tenaga kesehatan. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan tenaga kesehatan dalam mengimplementasikan SMK3 guna menurunkan risiko kecelakaan kerja. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan partisipatif berbasis praktik melalui edukasi, diskusi interaktif, simulasi, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 23–25 Januari 2026 di RSUD Haji Makassar dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 25 tenaga kesehatan. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan pre-test dan post-test serta observasi keterampilan. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan peserta dari nilai rata-rata 60,5 menjadi 86,3. Selain itu, peserta menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam penerapan prinsip SMK3 di lingkungan kerja. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan implementasi SMK3 efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi tenaga kesehatan serta berpotensi menurunkan risiko kecelakaan kerja. Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is grounded in findings indicating that the effectiveness of badminton athletes’ smash strokes remains suboptimal, as reflected in low accuracy and consistency when directing the shuttlecock into the opponent’s court. This condition highlights the need for a more structured and targeted technical training approach. The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of stroke pattern training in improving badminton athletes’ smash performance. The research employed an experimental method with a one group pre-test–post-test design involving 16 athletes as research subjects. Data were collected using a smash accuracy test, while data analysis was conducted using a paired sample t-test to determine differences before and after the treatment. The results showed a significant improvement, indicated by a t-value of 4.540 and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings suggest that stroke pattern training provides a substantial contribution to enhancing smash technique quality, particularly in terms of accuracy and shot control. Practically, this study confirms that systematically structured and repetitive technical training can serve as an effective strategy to support the sustainable development of badminton athletes’ performance. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berangkat dari temuan bahwa efektivitas pukulan smash atlet bulutangkis masih belum optimal, yang tercermin dari rendahnya akurasi dan konsistensi saat mengarahkan shuttlecock ke area lawan. Kondisi tersebut menunjukkan adanya kebutuhan terhadap pendekatan latihan teknik yang lebih terarah dan sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas latihan pola stroke dalam meningkatkan kemampuan smash atlet bulutangkis. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain one group pre-test–post-test design yang melibatkan 16 atlet sebagai subjek penelitian. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes ketepatan smash, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan uji paired sample t-test untuk mengetahui perbedaan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan, ditandai dengan nilai t hitung sebesar 4,540 dan signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa latihan pola stroke mampu memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam meningkatkan kualitas teknik smash, khususnya pada aspek ketepatan dan kontrol pukulan. Secara praktis, hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa penerapan latihan teknik yang dilakukan secara berulang dan terstruktur dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif dalam mendukung pengembangan performa atlet bulutangkis secara berkelanjutan.
