Abstract

Drama learning plays an important role in training students to sharpen their expressive abilities in performing arts.  This study aims to develop and implement an authentic assessment-based assessment strategy to identify high school students' ability to assess drama texts and drama performances. The research method used is research and development (R&D) which involves several stages, namely needs analysis, instrument design, and assessment model development. The R&D model used in this research is the ADDIE model (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate). The results showed that the developed authentic assessment model can improve students' ability to assess drama texts and performances. Teachers who use this model find it helpful in developing more effective and comprehensive assessment instruments. In addition, students showed improvement in critical thinking and evaluation skills, as well as the ability to identify and assess important elements in drama and performance texts. This study suggests that the implementation of authentic assessment strategies can make a positive contribution towards improving the quality of assessment in a secondary school setting.

Abstract

Teacher competency standards serve as benchmarks that can be utilised to assess the attributes deemed essential for professional competence in educators. Educators play a crucial and strategic role in the pursuit of national development objectives, particularly within the realm of education. However, the objective of education appears to be a reduction in competency standards at the conclusion of each academic year for specific subjects, particularly in the realm of science and Basic Physics. Consequently, this initiative seeks to inspire educators and students in secondary education to enhance their understanding of the educational process by engaging in the study of science, specifically Basic Physics, utilising appropriate tools and resources. The suggested mode of engagement involves the processes of instruction and education within secondary educational institutions across the Meranti Islands Regency, encompassing SMA, MAN, MTs, and SMP levels. This activity further offers insights into experiments and demonstration tools for educators in the realm of science and Basic Physics, facilitating a comprehension of concepts that range from simple to intricate natural phenomena through accessible demonstration media designed for practical application. In this manner, educators are anticipated to exhibit motivation and enthusiasm throughout the learning process, accompanied by a thorough and nuanced comprehension of the subject matter. To enhance teacher competency standards significantly, ensuring they become more qualified and professional.

Abstract

The RX-122 rocket is an experimental rocket series developed by the Technology Centre for Rocket-BRIN. The lightweight design of the RX-122 rocket motor tube is an essential requirement for improving the rocket's flight performance. The objective of this research is to identify a rocket motor tube design that offers both safety and minimal weight. A total of 12 different design configurations for the rocket motor tube are examined using numerical methods assisted by Ansys software. Aluminium 6061-T6 material was chosen to withstand an internal operating pressure load of 10.5 MPa. The design involves examining a range of wall thickness options, including 4 and 5 mm, cap thickness options of 15 and 20 mm, and fillet radii of 10, 15, and 20 mm. This approach provides a comprehensive and systematic method to achieve optimal structural performance under operational stress conditions, ensuring that only safe yet lightweight configurations are selected. This evaluation, which integrates the exploration of wall, cap, and fillet dimensions, offers an innovative framework to optimize the balance between safety and weight. The findings indicate that only the 12th design, featuring a wall thickness, cap thickness, and fillet radius of 5, 20, and 20 mm, satisfies the specified criteria. The method demonstrates a practical advantage in refining rocket design with high efficiency and accuracy, reducing trial-and-error in experimental setups.

Abstract

Kata Kunci : Terumbu karang, Pengukuran 2D, Pengukuran 3D, Fotogrametri, Pulau Gili LabakABSTRACTCurrent technological advances have the potential to develop research methods, including research methods used on coral reefs. This study aims to compare coral reef measurement techniques using 2-dimensional (2D) and 3-dimensional (3D) methods on Gili Labak Island, one of the tourist locations that is always crowded with tourists for swimming and diving located in Sumenep Regency, Madura. Coral reef measurement is very important in monitoring and managing coral reef ecosystems that are vulnerable to environmental changes. The 2D method used in this study is a quadrat transect with an area of 2 meters and a length of 14 meters and visual calculations, while the 3D method applies photogrammetry technology to obtain the volume of coral reefs. The data collected include physical parameters of coral reefs, such as area, species diversity, morphological conditions and coral reef volume. The results of the study show that although the 2D method is simpler and cheaper, the accuracy of the measurements produced is limited to visual and linear aspects without in-depth information about the vertical structure of the coral reef. In contrast, the 3D method provides a more accurate and detailed representation of coral reef topography, but requires higher costs and technological devices. The comparison of these two methods shows that 3D measurements can provide more comprehensive information on coral reef conditions, especially in mapping changes in coral reef morphology over time. This study is expected to be a reference in selecting more efficient and appropriate coral reef measurement methods, and can be used in coral reef conservation and rehabilitation programs on Gili Labak Island and similar areas. Keywords : coral reef, 2D measurements, 3D measurements, Photogrammetry, Gili Labak Island

Abstract

Optical technology has experienced extraordinary developments in recent years and the development of optical fibers continues to be carried out for various applications, namely optical sensors, long-distance communications, and health monitoring so that they can be applied in monitoring high temperatures in petroleum plants. Optical fiber has properties that cannot interfere with electromagnetic waves, which is an advantage compared to conventional cables besides optical fibers are able to transmit data quickly and reach very far across continents. However, the signal in the optical fiber that is carried in the form of pulses can experience widening, this widening is a result of changes in the refractive index, constituent materials, and losses due to fiber optic connection which will decrease the quality of the received signal. One way to reduce the pulse widening in a single-mode optical fiber is to split the fiber core into several layers to obtain zero dispersion in the single-mode optical fiber. Another thing is that we can influence the effect of the inner layer of the fiber core on the desired zero dispersion. After designing the optical core by making several layers, it was found that the dispersion was not found in the 6 and 7 core layers while the fibers with layers 2, 3, 4, and 5 had different wavelengths for zero dispersion. Furthermore, the effective area or area that is passed by the optical signal and the largest fiber mode diameter is obtained on 3-layer fibers with a value of 230.0454 mm2 and 17.1144 mm each seen from the delay of layer groups 2, 5, 6, and 7 experiencing a group decline for each wavelength while fiber With layers 3 and 4 experiencing an increase in group delay from the experimental data it was found that cores with 6 and 7 layers would not find the desired zero dispersion while optical fibers with the best layers transmit signals were cores with 3 layers.

Abstract

Non-thermal Argon plasmas serve multiple functions, particularly in healthcare and industrial applications. Numerous particles of the same species exhibit varying velocities, referred to as a 'population'. The distribution function is a standard method for characterizing a population. The speed and energy distribution functions in the Maxwell-Boltzmann equation are simulated utilizing MATLAB. The density of each species was numerically calculated using the Runge-Kutta method. This research reviews various Argon species, including Ar*, Ar+, Ar(1s5), Ar(1s4), Ar(1s3), Ar(1s2), Ar, and electrons. The parameters utilized include a pressure of 10 mTorr, an Argon temperature about 400 K, and an electron temperature about 30,000 K. The maximum velocity probability density value is observed in the Ar+ species at 6.18 x 107 (m/s)-1, while the minimum value is found in electrons at 1.93 (m/s)-1. The maximum energy probability density value is observed in the Ar+ species at 2.13 x 1029 (Joule)-1, while the minimum value is found in the Ar(1s3) species at 1.40 x 1025 (Joule)-1. The time evolution of the distribution function, independent of the coordinates r, is associated with v, at t = 10-8 s. The velocity distribution function is significantly affected by the density value, while the distribution function is contingent upon the velocity.

Abstract

This research aims to increase students' motivation to learn physics through the application of the Problem Based Learning learning model. This research is considered very important because the results of the analysis of students' initial abilities through teacher and student respondents give low results. This research is a class action research (PTK) conducted in two cycles. The material in the first cycle is static electricity and dynamic electricity while the material in the second cycle is electromagnetic field. This research was conducted at SMKN 1 Tambang in Kampar Regency, Riau Province, with 19 students in class X of Machining Engineering, 16 males and 3 females. The steps in this PTK start from the pre-cycle stage (initial ability analysis), making learning tools and instruments, validating devices and instruments, taking action, evaluation, and reflection. The assessment of students' learning motivation and science process skills was carried out after the cycle ended which was assessed by the teacher himself through a learning motivation questionnaire totaling 35 items and student science process skills questions with a total of 18 multiple-choice questions. The average percentage of students' motivation to learn physics for cycle 1 was 68.30% in the medium category and in cycle 2 was 73.98% in the high category. Meanwhile, for the science process skills test, students in cycle 1 obtained results of 57.02% of the category were quite good and in cycle II, which was 77.48% of the high category. The increase in learning motivation can be seen from the change in the percentage of learning motivation questionnaires from the medium category to high and the change in science process skills can be seen from the change in test results from the fairly good category to good. Keywords: problem based learning learning model, learning media, learning motivation, science process skills
