Abstract

The integration of traditional games into Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) learning can strengthen student engagement, develop motor skills, and instill cultural values. However, the success of integration is largely determined by the teacher’s strategy in planning, implementing, and contextually evaluating learning. This study aims to describe PJOK teachers’ strategies in integrating traditional games into PJOK learning in elementary schools. The study uses a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with PJOK teachers, participatory observation of the implementation of learning, and a study of teaching materials. Data analysis followed an interactive analysis model combined with thematic analysis to produce the main strategy themes. The results of the study show that teachers’ strategies are grouped into six themes: (1) mapping movement objectives and time allocation; (2) selecting games based on competence and environmental context; (3) modifying rules, tools, and space for safety and inclusiveness; (4) classroom management based on small groups, stations, and control signals; (5) internalization of cultural values through reflection and value language; and (6) process-outcome evaluation using rubrics, checklists, journals, and video-based reflection. The findings confirm that traditional games are effective vehicles for holistic learning when structured activities are aligned with learning outcomes and student needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of YouTube media on enhancing students’ learning motivation and participation in Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning at the elementary school level. Employing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design over two cycles—each consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection—the study involved 16 fifth-grade students from Izzatul Islam Elementary School, Muaro Jambi Regency. Data were collected using observation sheets, learning motivation questionnaires, and field notes, and analyzed through descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed improvements of 27% in learning motivation and 31% in active participation. Descriptive statistical analysis indicated that these increases were meaningful, and further significance testing using the paired-sample t-test confirmed that the improvements in both motivation and participation were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Students exhibited enhanced attention, curiosity, confidence, and engagement in collaborative discussions after the integration of YouTube-based videos. Overall, the findings suggest that YouTube is an effective digital medium for strengthening students’ affective and social learning aspects while promoting active engagement in the context of digital-era education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perspectives of students at SMA Negeri 2 Tanjung Jabung Barat regarding the development of sport tourism in the Pangkal Babu mangrove forest. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving ten informants, consisting of nine students from grades X, XI, and XII and one physical education teacher. Data were obtained through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using NVivo 12 through coding and thematic analysis. The results indicate that students’ perceptions of sport tourism are more strongly shaped by direct experiences in engaging in physical activities than by conceptual understanding of the term sport tourism. Activities perceived as most relevant include tracking or walking, cycling, boating activities, fishing, and simple outbound activities. The attractiveness of the mangrove area mainly lies in its natural beauty, cool atmosphere, and the presence of wildlife. These activities provide benefits in the form of improved physical and mental health, educational value, and the development of students’ character. However, students and the teacher still highlight limitations related to facilities, safety aspects, and area management as issues that need attention. This study concludes that the Pangkal Babu mangrove forest has the potential to be developed as a sport tourism destination that supports physical education learning if it is managed in a planned and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the role of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) teachers in enhancing students’ enthusiasm for learning physical education at SMA Negeri 5 Tanjung Jabung Timur. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study approach. Subjects included the principal, PJOK teachers, and students selected using purposive sampling. Data co.llection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data validity was tested using source triangulation, while data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that PJOK teachers act as motivators, facilitators, guides, and role models in learning. This role has been proven to increase students’ enthusiasm, activeness, and enthusiasm for learning in PJOK learning, although several obstacles remain that need to be addressed through a more personalized and varied approach. Keywords: PJOK Teacher, Learning Enthusiasm, PJOK Learning.   Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran Guru Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan (PJOK) dalam meningkatkan semangat belajar penjaskes siswa di SMA Negeri 5 Tanjung Jabung Timur. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas kepala sekolah, guru PJOK, dan siswa yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Keabsahan data diuji menggunakan triangulasi sumber, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PJOK berperan sebagai motivator, fasilitator, pembimbing, dan teladan dalam pembelajaran. Peran tersebut terbukti mampu meningkatkan antusiasme, keaktifan, dan semangat belajar siswa dalam mengikuti pembelajaran PJOK, meskipun masih terdapat beberapa hambatan yang perlu diatasi melalui pendekatan yang lebih personal dan variatif. Abstract

TARUNG yang artinya perkelahian, perjuangan untuk membela diri, sedangkan kata DERAJAT diambil dari namanya Achmad Drajat. Jadi, arti TARUNG DERAJAT adalah cara berjuang mempertahankan diri ala Achmad Drajat. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai salah satu persiapan atlet tarung derajat kota jambi untuk mengikuti Porprov 2023. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kebugaran jasmani atlet tarung derajat kota jambi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Subjek penelitian ini adalah tingkat kebugaran atlet tarung derajat kota jambi yang berjumlah 13 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah TKJI Indonesia yang terdiri dari 5 item tes yaitu (1) tes lari 60 meter, (2) gantung siku 60 detik, (3) baring duduk 60 detik, (4) loncat tegak serta, (5) 1000 meter. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan kepada atlet tarung derajat kota Jambi dapat diketahui atlet yang masuk dalam kategori Baik Sekali (BS) berjumlah 4 orang (30,77%), kategori Baik (B) berjumlah 7 orang (53,84%) kategori Sedang (S) berjumlah 2 orang (15,39%), Kategori Kurang (K) berjumlah 0 orang (0%), kategori Kurang Sekali (KS) berjumlah 0 (0%).

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between physical literacy, students’ interest, and physical activity in badminton among junior high school students. This research employed a quantitative correlational design. The participants were 30 seventh-grade students from SMPN 11 Muaro Jambi selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires measuring students’ interest, physical activity, and physical literacy based on a Likert scale. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple linear regression. The results showed a significant positive relationship between students’ interest and physical literacy (r = 0.62, p < 0.05), as well as between physical activity and physical literacy (r = 0.58, p < 0.05). Furthermore, students’ interest and physical activity simultaneously contributed 52% to physical literacy. In conclusion, increasing students’ interest and levels of physical activity plays an important role in developing physical literacy through badminton activities at school. Abstract

 Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi latihan lompat gawang terhadap kemampuan jumping smash atlet bola voli putra Klub Bintang 04 Jambi. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya peningkatan kemampuan teknik serangan, khususnya jumping smash, yang sangat dipengaruhi oleh daya ledak otot tungkai. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada penerapan variasi latihan lompat gawang yang dikombinasikan secara progresif pada atlet tingkat klub daerah, yang belum banyak dikaji dalam penelitian sebelumnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 20 atlet yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes vertical jump untuk mengukur kemampuan jumping smash. Perlakuan berupa variasi latihan lompat gawang diberikan selama 8 pertemuan dengan frekuensi tiga kali dalam satu minggu. Teknik analisis data meliputi uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, uji homogenitas, uji paired sample t-test, serta perhitungan effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 49 pada pre-test menjadi 52,2 pada post-test. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai signifikansi <0,001 yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Selain itu, nilai effect size sebesar -1,087 termasuk dalam kategori besar, yang menunjukkan bahwa variasi latihan lompat gawang memberikan pengaruh yang kuat terhadap peningkatan kemampuan jumping smash. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa variasi latihan lompat gawang efektif digunakan sebagai metode latihan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan jumping smash atlet bola voli

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) dalam pembelajaran Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan (PJOK) pada tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama (SMP) di Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini memiliki kebaruan pada pendekatan studi multi-kasus dalam pembelajaran PJOK di daerah, yang secara spesifik mengkaji integrasi teknologi dalam pembelajaran berbasis praktik yang masih terbatas diteliti. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi multi-kasus yang melibatkan enam guru PJOK dari tiga sekolah, yaitu SMP Negeri 2, SMP Negeri 14, dan SMP Negeri 21 Kota Jambi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam sebanyak dua kali pada setiap informan, observasi pembelajaran selama empat pertemuan di masing-masing sekolah, serta dokumentasi, dengan periode pengumpulan data berlangsung selama dua bulan. Data dianalisis menggunakan bantuan NVivo 12 Pro melalui tahapan pengkodean, kategorisasi, dan analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi TPACK telah berjalan cukup baik, ditandai dengan kemampuan guru dalam mengintegrasikan aspek Content Knowledge (CK), Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), dan Technological Knowledge (TK) secara adaptif. Pemanfaatan teknologi seperti video pembelajaran, PowerPoint, dan smartphone terbukti membantu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa, terutama pada materi keterampilan gerak. Namun demikian, implementasi TPACK masih menghadapi kendala berupa keterbatasan fasilitas teknologi, waktu pembelajaran, serta kesenjangan akses siswa. Penelitian ini terbatas pada jumlah subjek dan wilayah, sehingga diperlukan penelitian lanjutan dengan cakupan yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Coaching human resources are the most crucial component in the success of the Sub-district Sports Coaching Program (TPOK) for soccer in Batanghari Regency. This article aims to analyze the human resources aspects of coaches in the implementation of the TPOK Program, including qualifications and competencies, recruitment and selection processes, coaching experience, professional development efforts, and challenges faced. This study is based on qualitative research with a case study approach using the Van Meter and Van Horn policy implementation model. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with eight TPOK coaches (six with PSSI D licenses and two with AFC C licenses) and the Head of the Sports Division of the Batanghari Regency Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora Ekraf). The analysis results indicate that TPOK coaches have strengths in terms of formal qualifications, track records of experience, and high intrinsic motivation. However, there are significant weaknesses in the form of a disproportionate coach ratio (one coach per sub-district with dozens of villages), the absence of policy-facilitated advanced competency development programs, and limited budget support. This article recommends facilitating the upgrade of coach licenses from D to C AFC, establishing a sustainable competency development system, and reviewing the coach-to-area ratio as policy priorities.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to see how the influence of perception, attitude, and curiosity character instruments on learning outcomes used in junior high school students in Tebo in the subject of Physical Education. Methodology: Quantitative analytical descriptive methods were used in this research. The research sample consisted of junior high school students in Tebo who were involved in Physical Education learning. Main Findings: Data collection was carried out through students' perceptions, attitudes. and curiosity characters towards student learning outcomes in this subject at Junior high school 2 Tebo with 40% in the sufficient category. In addition, students' perceptions, attitudes, and curiosity characters towards student learning outcomes in this subject at Junior high school 16 Tebo tend to be positive with 36% in the sufficient category which can have a positive impact on student activity in learning activities and physical activities. Novelty/Originality of this study: The novelty of this study lies in the exploration of the relationship between students' perspectives, attitudes, and curiosity characters towards Physical Education learning with their learning outcomes at the junior high school level.
