Abstract

Challenges in conceptual understanding and engagement persist in undergraduate trigonometry education, often due to static instructional methods and limited use of dynamic visual tools. Recent advances in artificial intelligence offer new opportunities for educators to independently design interactive instructional media, even without advanced programming expertise. Leveraging this potential, the present study aimed to develop and evaluate Python-based interactive media, integrating AI-generated content using the ADDIE design model. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, Likert-scale questionnaires, and observations. Qualitative data were analysed thematically, while quantitative responses were summarised using descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that the interactive media was perceived as engaging in visualising trigonometric concepts, particularly sine and cosine, but revealed areas of confusion regarding the tangent function and challenges in self-directed learning. The study concludes that AI-assisted interactive media support conceptual understanding and student engagement, while also empowering educators to create personalised learning tools without requiring sophisticated technical skills. These results inform the design of accessible, technology-enhanced mathematics instruction

Abstract

However, the current body of research is dominated by linear approaches that possess a limited capacity to uncover how various factors interact in complex ways. This study aims to address this need through a Systematic Literature Review. The methodology followed the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, involving a systematic search of the Scopus and Google Scholar databases, which resulted in 40 core studies for final synthesis. The findings reveal that student-internal psychological and affective variables are the most dominant focus of current research. Methodologically, the field heavily relies on quantitative approaches, particularly Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The most significant finding is a consistent research gap regarding the lack of understanding of the complex, configurational interactions among multiple factors, as most studies employ linear-based analyses. This review concludes that there is an urgent need for research using configurational approaches, such as fs/QCA, to uncover the multiple causal pathways to mathematics achievement. The primary contribution of this study is the presentation of a critical framework that offers a configurational perspective as an alternative to linear models for a more holistic understanding of student success.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: In mathematics subjects, reviewing the development of the curriculum in Indonesia is a step in adapting to global dynamics in the aspect of education, student needs, and demands from the development of the times. Some examples of challenges faced by the development of the education curriculum in Indonesia from time to time are the lack of teacher readiness in adopting new approaches, the gap between implementation in the field and the concept, and inconsistencies between curricula. The purpose of the study is to analyze the development of the mathematics education curriculum in Indonesia from time to time. The writing of this journal uses a qualitative research type. The findings of the study are the development of the mathematics education curriculum in Indonesia from time to time starting from the 1994 Curriculum, KBK (2004), KTSP (2006), 2013 Curriculum, and the Independent Curriculum. Reviewed from the assessment, education starts from a written exam to a formative and holistic assessment. Furthermore, reviewed from student involvement in the 1994 curriculum, passive student involvement was found until the independent curriculum experienced an increase in student involvement to become very active personally. In terms of the role of teachers, there has also been an increase in the development of the curriculum, namely starting from the dominant method of lectures, facilitators, and collaborating facilitators. Furthermore, the flexibility of the curriculum has also increased from the "Low" category in the 1994 Curriculum to the "Very High" category in the independent curriculum ABSTRAK: Pada mata pelajaran matematika meninjau terkait dengan perkembangan kurikulum di indonesia merupakan langkah dalam beradaptasi terhadap dinamika global pada aspek pendidikan, kebutuhan peserta didik, serta tuntutan dari perkembangan zaman. Abstract

Critical thinking skills are crucial for students to analyze and solve problems effectively, yet many still struggle in apply them comprehensively. This study aimed to examine students' critical thinking skills using a qualitative descriptive approach. The study used an essay-based assessment developed based on the framework of Perkins and Susilo et al., which includes four main indicators: clarification, judgment, inference, and strategy development. The findings indicated that students demonstrated partial critical thinking skills; most could analyze or clarify problems, while some could present problems with reasoning or examples and draw compelling conclusions. However, many students still struggled to develop effective problem-solving strategies. These results imply the need for improved instruction that places greater emphasis on strengthening problem-solving skills to enhance students' overall critical thinking skills.
