Abstract

This study aims to produce valid, practical, and effective serial card media to increase students' interest in reading. The research method uses the development model EDDIE. The subjects of the study were 22 third-grade elementary school students and the object of the study was serial card media in Indonesian language learning on short story material. Data collection instruments were material expert questionnaires, media expert questionnaires, student response questionnaires, teacher response questionnaires, reading interest questionnaires, and pretest-posttest. Data analysis techniques were data descriptions and percentages. The validation results by material experts obtained 95%, media experts 100%, and evaluation experts 89.28% with a very valid category. The practicality test showed that the serial card media was very practical to use by students and teachers with a practicality score of 91.25% from student responses and 94.23% from teacher responses. The effectiveness of the media was demonstrated through an increase in students' reading ability with an N-Gain value of 0.64 in trial I to 0.67 in trial II. The increase in students' reading interest in trial I was 65% before learning, then increased to 85% after learning. Furthermore, in trial II, students' reading interest before learning was 71%, and increased to 94.5% after learning. This indicates that the serial card media is valid, practical, and effective and can increase students' reading interest.

Abstract

This study aims to develop LuMat (Ludo Matematika) learning media to improve the conceptual understanding of mathematics among Phase C students on the topic of fractions. The research employed the Four-D (4D) development model, which includes Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The research subjects were 24 fifth-grade students at SD Swasta Kasih Ibu. The instruments used included validity questionnaires, practicality questionnaires, effectiveness questionnaires, as well as pretest and posttest questions to measure the improvement in conceptual understanding. The validation results from media experts showed a score of 96%, categorized as very valid, while material experts gave a score of 78%, categorized as valid. The practicality test indicated that the LuMat media was highly practical for both teachers and students, with an average practicality score of 90.4%. The effectiveness of the media was demonstrated by the increase in students' learning outcomes, with the N-Gain score rising from 0.46 in the first trial to 0.58 in the second trial, which falls into the moderate category. In conclusion, the LuMat media is feasible, practical, effective, and capable of enhancing students’ conceptual understanding in learning fractions.

Abstract

Miskonsepsi merupakan masalah yang selalu muncul dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar. Untuk itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi miskonsepsi mahasiswa yang sedang mengambil matakuliah kalkulus II. CRI (Certainty of Response Index) digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi mahasiswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi, tidak paham konsep, dan sama sekali tidak tahu konsep. Penelitian ini melibatkan 20 responden yang sedang mengambil matakuliah kalkulus II. Instrument yang digunakan adalah tes diasnogtik dalam bentuk essay. Selain menjawab soal, mahasiswa juga diminta untuk menuliskan tingkat keyakinan kebenaran dari jawaban mereka. Selain itu, wawancara terstruktur juga digunakan untuk mengvalidasi tingkat keyakinan mahasiswa dan penyebab terjadinya miskonsepsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa CRI dapat dengan mudah membedakan siswa yang memahami konsep dengan baik dengan mahasiswa yang mengalami kesalahan. Berdasarkan analisis kesalahan mahasiswa diperoleh 46% mahasiswa mengalami miskonsepsi, 53,4% mahasiswa tidak mengetahui konsep dan 0,6% mahasiswa yang sama sekali tidak tahu konsep (lucky guess). Misconception is an issue that always arises in teaching and learning activities. Therefore, this study aims to identify the misconception of students who are taking calculus II courses. CRI (Certainty of Response Index) is used to identify students with misconceptions, not understanding concepts, and not knowing concepts at all. This study involved 20 respondents who are taking calculus II courses. Instrument used is diagnogtic test in essay form. In addition to answering questions, students are also asked to write down the level of confidence in their answers. In addition, structured interviews are also used to validate student confidence and the causes of misconceptions. The results show that CRI can easily distinguish students who understand the concept well with students who experience errors. Based on the student error analysis, 46% of students have misconception, 53,4% of students do not know concept and 0,6% of students do not know concept (lucky guess).

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui konsep (ide-ide) matematika yang terdapat pada rumah adat Mandailing yaitu Bagas Godang. Mandailing adalah salah satu suku Batak yang terletak di Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan Sumatera Utara. Salah satu unsur budaya Mandailing adalah rumah adat Bagas Godang Sumatera Utara yang seharusnya menjadi perhatian pemerintah daerah setempat. Bagas Godang merupakan unsur budaya Mandailing yang dapat di jadikan media pembelajaran matematika sekolah, sehingga pembelajaran matematika dapat dimulai dari memperkenalkan budaya lokal seperti rumah adat budaya Mandailing atau Bagas Godang. Tulisan ini mengeksplorasi konsep-konsep matematika pada struktur dan ornamen rumah adat Bagas Godang. Pembahasan yang bersifat deskriptif memberi gambaran tentang ornamen rumah adat Bagas Godang lebih terperinci. Hasil eksplorasi dan analisis ornamen-ornamen Bagas Godang ditemukan adanya konsep matematika berupa konsep grup, geometri dan trasformasi geometri dan komposisinya.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem, the low level of self-esteem of students. The purpose of this study was to determine the increase in self-esteem of students with realistic mathematics education in mathematics learning, and to determine student responses to mathematics learning with realistic mathematics learning. This type of research is descriptive research through questionnaire analysis. The instrument used is a self-esteem questionnaire to see self-esteem abilities that have been tested and a questionnaire to see student responses. In this study, data were obtained to see the increase in self-esteem of students with realistic mathematics education in learning mathematics and to see student responses to learning mathematics using mathematics education which were analyzed using a Likert attitude scale. The scale in this self-esteem contains four components, namely: students' assessments of (1) their ability (capability) in mathematics, (2) their success (successfulness) in mathematics, (3) their significance in mathematics, and (4) goodness (worthiness) himself in mathematics The conclusion obtained in this study related to self-esteem in mathematics is that it can be seen as a whole using a realistic mathematical education. Abstract

This research aims to analyze forms of phonological interference in the use of Indonesian by speakers of the Nias regional language in Garu II, Medan Amplas. The background of this research is based on the fact that the Nias people, as a bilingual group, often experience difficulties in pronouncing Indonesian according to the rules, resulting in symptoms of phonological deviations such as deletions, changes and additions of phonemes. Using qualitative descriptive methods and triangulation techniques (observation, interviews, documentation), this research found three main forms of interference: (1) deletion of the final phoneme (example: "jalan" becomes "jala"), (2) changes in phonemes (example: "kaya" becomes “kayo”), and (3) the addition of phonemes (example: “although” becomes “walampun”). Factors causing interference include the social environment, first language habits, low vocabulary mastery, and weak loyalty to the second language. It is hoped that the results of this research can enrich the study of phonology and become a reference in developing Indonesian for bilingual communities.

Abstract

Abstrak:Operasi schackle adalah operasi antara dua atau lebih graf yang menghasilkan graf baru. Graf shackle dinotasikan  adalah graf yang dihasilkan dari t salinan dari graf  yang diberi simbol dengan  dimana  dan t bilangan asli. Operasi shackle ppada penelitian ini adalah shackle titik. Operasi shackle titik dinotasikan dengan  artinya graf yang dibangun dari sembarang graf  sebanyak  salinan dan titik  sebagai . Kelas graf yang akan di eksporasi karakterisinya dan bilangan kromatinya adalah , S , & S . Hasil penelitiannya menunjukkan bahwa bilangan kromatik graf shackle sama dengan subgraf pembangunnya. Kata Kunci:Operasi Shackle, Shackle titik, graf shackle, bilangan kromatik. Abstract:A shackle operation is an operation between two or more graphs that results in a new graph. Shackle graph notated  is a product graph from  copy of graph  is denoted by  where  and  are natural numbers. The shackle operation in this research is vertex shackle. Vertex shackle operation is denoted by  which means that the graph is constructed from any graph  as many as  copies and vertex  as linkage vertex. The class of graphs examined in this study are , S , & S . The results show that the chromatic number of the shackle graph is the same as the subgraph that generates it. Keywords:Shackle Operation, Vertex Shackle, Shackle Graph, Chromatic Numbers.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Student Worksheets (LKPD) based on Problem Based Learning (PBL) in mathematics learning of fractions in grade V of Elementary School to improve student learning outcomes. This study uses the ADDIE development model consisting of five stages, but limited to the Development stage. The subjects of the study were grade V students of SD Negeri 006 Melayu Besar. Data collection was carried out through expert validation, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The validation results showed that the LKPD developed was in the "very feasible" category, with a score from design experts of 95% and from material experts of 87.5%. The trial was carried out in two stages, namely a small group trial of 5 students who obtained a practicality result of 92.6%, and a large group trial of 20 students with a practicality result of 93.5%. To measure the effectiveness of LKPD on improving student learning outcomes, an initial test (pretest) and a final test (posttest) were used. Based on data analysis, the average N-Gain was 0.71 which is included in the "high" category. Thus, the LKPD based on Problem Based Learning that was developed is declared valid, practical, and effective for use in learning mathematics on fraction material to improve the learning outcomes of fifth grade elementary school students.
