Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of experiential learning in developing students’ competencies within two Acehnese salafiyah dayah: Mudi Mesra and Ummul Ayman. It aims to reinterpret how experiential learning operates across ritual, vocational, institutional, and digital dimensions, thereby formulating a contextual framework for transformative Islamic education. Using a qualitative multiple-case design, data were collected from fifteen participants—including leaders, teachers, and students—through interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. Thematic analysis, supported by triangulation, member checking, and peer debriefing, ensured credibility and reflexivity. Findings reveal that experiential learning is systematically embedded in ritual and communal practices (muhadzarah, khutbah, tajhiz mayat), vocational and entrepreneurial training (banking, printing, tailoring, IT), institutional mediation through teungku-centered authority, and emerging digital engagement such as WhatsApp-based muzakarah. These practices affirm Dewey’s and Kolb’s experiential frameworks while contextualizing constructivist learning within Islamic communal culture. The study introduces the concept of an “experiential ecology of Acehnese dayah,” which integrates spirituality, institutional authority, and innovation. Theoretically, it enriches global debates on experiential pedagogy in faith-based education; practically, it provides a model for enhancing vocational and digital readiness without compromising religious authenticity.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadis di Madrasah Aliyah Swasta (MAS) Ummul Ayman Samalanga merupakan sebagai bagian yang integral dari Pendidikan Agama. Pembelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadis memang bukan satu-satunya faktor yang menentukan dalam pembentukan watak dan kepribadian peserta didik. Tetapi secara subtansial mata pelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadis memiliki kontribusi dalam memberikan motivasi kepada peserta didik untuk mempraktekkan nilai-nilai agama, sebagaimana terkandung dalam Al-Qur’an dan Hadis dalam kehidupan mereka sehari-hari. Peneliti tertarik untuk melihat hasil dari penerapan metode Tutor Sebaya terhadap prestasi belajar Al-Qur’an Hadis siswa kelas XII MAS Ummul Ayman Samalanga tahun pelajaran 2021/2022. Tutor sebaya di sini dimaksudkan sebagai sosok pembimbing atau pihak yang menfasilitasi akan suatu hal (kegiatan belajar), yang diambil dari sekelompok peserta didik yang dipandang memiliki kemampuan lebih dibanding teman-teman yang lainnya. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode Tutor sebaya dalam belajar Al-Qur’an Hadis dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas XII MAS Ummul Ayman Samalanga Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Pada akhirnya, meningkatnya hasil belajar Al-Qur’an Hadis tersebut berdampak baik pada pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran Al-Qur’an Hadis, yaitu siswa mampu memahami materi Al-Qur’an Hadis dan juga mempraktekkan materinya tersebut dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, sesuai dengan ketentuan yang diatur dalam ajaran Islam.

Abstract

ABSTRACK Morals are the main focus when someone acts and acts in social life. A person's good morals do not appear automatically but need to be nurtured and taught from an early age. Many factors can shape a person's character to be good or bad, including the factor of family as a person who is always beside him and has a direct influence on his / her environment. Education is essentially an effort to pass on values, which will help and determine mankind in living life, and at the same time to improve the fate and civilization of mankind. There are 3 problem formulations to be studied in this thesis, namely: (1) How is Moral Education in K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and K.H. Hasyim Asy'ari? (2) What are the differences and similarities of K.H.Ahmad Dahlan and K.H.Hasyim Asy'ari's Moral Education? and (3) How is the relevance of K.H.Ahmad Dahlan and K.H.Hasyim Asy'ari's Moral Education to Islamic education today? Therefore, moral education is very important during the modernization era like today. This is due to the development of technology and changing lifestyles. If moral education is not instilled in students from a young age, it is possible that students will plunge students into something that is not desired by the wider community. Therefore, the objectives of education are at least divided into two, namely education aimed at developing mental / spiritual aspects and education in a physical / physical nature. The purpose of education is trying to form a person with good quality physically and spiritually. Thus, conceptually education has a strategic role in shaping students to become qualified human beings, not only quality in terms of skills, cognitive, affective, but also spiritual aspects. Here the author will discuss moral education according to two very prominent figures. Apart from being the founders of the most influential Islamic organizations in society, they are also two figures who have more or less similarities and differences, namely K.H. Ahmad Dahlan and K.H. Abstract

This article explores the central role of Acehnese women in preserving the rich and diverse traditional arts and culture. Acehnese women play a crucial role in maintaining and revitalizing various forms of cultural and artistic heritage, including traditional dance, music, literature, cuisine, religious rituals, and handicrafts. Through interviews, observations, and literature review, this research reveals how Acehnese women not only act as custodians of cultural heritage but also as innovators who adapt to changing times without abandoning their traditional roots. The article highlights the contributions of women in Acehs art and cultural communities, as well as the challenges they face in maintaining traditions amidst modernization and globalization. Thus, this article provides an in-depth understanding of the dynamics between tradition and change, and the importance of women's roles in preserving ancestral heritage for future generations.

Abstract

This study explores the economic transformation of coastal fishing households in Pusong Lama village, Lhokseumawe, Aceh, from traditional fishing practices to creative, value-added production. Using a qualitative approach supported by observation, interviews, and focus group discussions, the research analyzes how local initiatives and women’s participation have redefined livelihoods through the processing of keumamah (dried tuna) into marketable creative products. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, encompassing data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the creative economy movement not only increases household income but also fosters social empowerment, particularly among women who now manage production, marketing, and financial activities. Despite these achievements, challenges remain in terms of raw material availability, price fluctuations, and limited marketing access. This study contributes to the growing discourse on sustainable coastal development and women’s economic empowerment by showing how traditional fishing communities can adapt to market-oriented innovation through creative industry models.

Abstract

Artikel ini menganalisis pandangan Ibnu Qayyim al-Jauziyyah terkait konsep "wali mujbir" dalam konteks pernikahan. Menurut Ibnu Qayyim, tidaklah pantas bagi orang tua atau wali untuk memaksa anak atau individu yang berada di bawah perwalian mereka untuk menikah tanpa mendapatkan izin dan persetujuan mereka terlebih dahulu. Pandangan ini menekankan pentingnya keridaan dan persetujuan anak, terutama anak perempuan, dalam proses perkenalan awal pernikahan. Ibnu Qayyim meyakini bahwa keputusan pernikahan harus didasarkan pada kehendak dan kebahagiaan individu yang akan menjalani kehidupan berumah tangga, bukan keputusan semena-mena dari orang tua atau wali. Metode Kajian ini termasuk studi Kepustakaan. Hasil kajian ditemukan bahwa Menurut pandangan Ibnu Qayyim al-Jauziyyah, dalam konteks wali mujbir dalam pernikahan, tidaklah pantas bagi orang tua atau wali untuk memaksa anak atau individu yang berada di bawah perwalian mereka untuk menikah tanpa mendapatkan izin dan persetujuan mereka terlebih dahulu. Ibnu Qayyim meyakini bahwa penting bagi keridaan dan persetujuan anak, terutama anak perempuan, untuk menjadi faktor yang mendasar dalam tahap awal proses perkenalan dalam pernikahan (peminangan). Pandangan ini bertujuan karena pada hakikatnya, yang akan menjalani kehidupan berumah tangga setelah pernikahan di masa mendatang adalah si anak, bukan orang tua atau wali mereka.

Abstract

The Psychological Principle is one of the foundational principles underpinning the implementation of Islamic education. This implies that the execution of education must be based on the developmental stages of the child. In this context, the intellect (reason) as one of the psychological components of human beings is a fundamental element that must be optimized within Islamic education. Although numerous books have discussed the human intellect, very few have explored it from the perspective of its developmental stages. Therefore, an in-depth and comprehensive study of each phase of intellectual development is necessary, so that the formulation of Islamic education can be designed appropriately and contextually. This study employs library research with a qualitative approach. The findings reveal, first, that each phase of human brain development possesses its own characteristics and uniqueness. Second, the research identifies various aspects of Islamic education that align with intellectual development, such as the selection of religious learning materials, instructional approaches, and relevant Islamic educational methods and techniques for each stage of intellectual growth.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tujuan dan manfaat Kurikulum Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam membangun generasi yang berakhlak mulia. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada urgensi pengintegrasian nilai-nilai karakter Islami dalam proses pembelajaran, sehingga pendidikan agama tidak hanya berorientasi pada penguasaan pengetahuan kognitif, tetapi juga pada pembentukan moral, sosial, dan spiritual peserta didik secara komprehensif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka (library research). Sumber data diperoleh dari berbagai literatur yang relevan, meliputi buku teks pendidikan Islam, artikel ilmiah, jurnal nasional dan internasional, hasil penelitian terdahulu, serta dokumen kebijakan pendidikan yang berkaitan dengan Kurikulum PAI. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penelaahan literatur secara sistematis dan mendalam, sedangkan analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis untuk mengkaji secara menyeluruh tujuan dan manfaat Kurikulum PAI dalam konteks pembentukan karakter peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kurikulum PAI memiliki peran strategis dalam membangun generasi berakhlak melalui integrasi tujuan spiritual, moral, sosial, dan intelektual. Kurikulum ini tidak hanya berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan penguasaan ilmu agama Islam, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai sarana internalisasi nilai-nilai akhlak mulia, pengembangan kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta peningkatan keterampilan sosial peserta didik. Selain itu, Kurikulum PAI memberikan pedoman yang jelas bagi pendidik dalam merancang dan melaksanakan strategi pembelajaran yang kontekstual, interaktif, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan serta tantangan kehidupan modern. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa implementasi Kurikulum PAI yang tepat dan berkelanjutan dapat menjadi instrumen efektif dalam membentuk peserta didik yang berintegritas, berkarakter kuat, dan siap menghadapi dinamika masyarakat modern.

Abstract

The study of Sufism in the Islamic tradition is often dominated by an androcentric perspective that places women’s spiritual experiences as peripheral and subordinate, thus obscuring women’s position as autonomous religious subjects. The lack of comparative studies across periods that dialogue classical female Sufi figures with contemporary feminist Sufi thinkers indicates a significant research gap in the study of Sufism and gender. This study aims to comparatively analyze the representation of women in Sufism through the figure of Rabīʻah al-ʻAdawiyah and the Sufi-feminist thought of Sa’diyya Shaikh, and formulate its theoretical implications for the development of a gender-just Sufi epistemology. The study employs qualitative methods with a comparative-hermeneutical approach, utilizing textual analysis of primary and secondary sources, including classical Sufi hagiography, Sufi works, and contemporary writings by Sa’diyya Shaikh, within a critical and feminist hermeneutic framework. The results of the study show that Rabīʻah al-ʻAdawiyah represents women as independent spiritual subjects through the concept of maḥabbah Ilāhiyyah, which rejects transactional relations between humans and God and transcends gender categories and social hierarchies. Meanwhile, Sa’diyya Shaikh reconstructs Sufism as a space of liberating ethics through the hermeneutics of spiritual justice, by emphasizing the egalitarian relationship between God and humans as the basis for gender equality. A comparative analysis reveals the continuity of spiritual values, as well as differences in epistemic strategies, in responding to patriarchal structures across various historical contexts. This study concludes that the synthesis of both thoughts offers an inclusive Sufism paradigm that emphasizes women’s contributions in the formation of Islamic spiritual epistemology and broadens the horizon of contemporary Sufism studies that are gender-just.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the construction of communicative competence in the teaching and learning of Arabic within the social context of the Sekarbela society in Mataram. They are famous for their long tradition of studying Arabic linguistics, including morphology, syntax, and rhetoric. This applies not only to educational institutions but also to society as a whole. The researchers sought to investigate whether it is possible to benefit from such a social context to build communicative competence in the Arabic language, by applying functional theory, which imposes the existence of an appropriate context for the natural use of the Arabic language in various linguistic situations. Multiple experiments have shown that teaching Arabic to non-native speakers by focusing on the practical aspect of the Arabic language strengthens learners mental, psychological and social abilities in dealing with the Arabic language, as stated in many studies. This study adopted a qualitative research approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The research results showed that the effectiveness of Arabic language learning is greatly influenced by the integration of local social and cultural contexts into the teaching process. The use of a communicative approach and social context-based teaching methods contributed to improving students' ability to understand and use Arabic more naturally. Additionally, the study recommends developing a curriculum that aligns with students' social communication needs to make the learning process more effective and practical.
