Abstract

Abstract

The cooperation between the Jombang Regency Government and the Community Service Team of the University of Surabaya identified target partners for bamboo-woven from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to develop their businesses at national and international levels. However, problems related to productivity and human resource capabilities are a priority to be resolved. To resolve this, the purpose is to provide assistance and renew technology to increase the productivity of Jombang Regency's superior products from bamboo through community service. The strategy carried out at the beginning was to conduct socialization. The next stage is implementing the community service program: training, assistance, and application of technology. The final stage is program evaluation. Meanwhile, the ABCD (Asset Based Community Development) method was chosen for this Community Service program. The results identified five components: Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny. The assets and potentials owned by the target partners are infrastructure and human resources. The dream is to develop their businesses at national and international levels, to be able to meet the needs of community demand, and to innovate more modern products. The program design was grouped into four clusters: production, products, management, and marketing. Furthermore, the community service team together with one bamboo-woven partner determines the program activities: Increasing assets (bamboo cutting machines and thinning machines), increasing product diversity, increasing management capabilities, and increasing product promotion media. Finally, implementing program activities to increase machine assets and machine operation training, innovative product workshops, financial literacy training, and photographing bamboo woven products for components in the e-catalog. Finally, partners have bamboo-cutting and slicing technologies, digital administration, and innovative products. In conclusion, this Community Service program needs to be continued to achieve the Target Partners' desire to become MSMEs with national and international markets

Abstract

A common social trend is the rise in single-parent families, where children are primarily raised by one parent—either the father or the mother. In Indonesia, single mothers, more prevalent than single fathers, often face bad stigma from society. The research then delves into the dual role of single mothers depicted in the film Ibu Ora Sare using Charles S. Peirce's semiotic analysis. The research findings reveal that single mothers defy the negative stereotypes imposed by society. In the film, Ibu Ora Sare, Gogon’s mother also juggles earning a livelihood, taking Gogon to school, and doing tasks which typically associated with fathers. Single mothers juggling multiple roles should not face unwarranted criticism as they adeptly fulfill their responsibilities—also, the role of the father is already replaced. The research findings provide insights into single mothers' dual responsibilities. Future studies are encouraged to explore deeper feminism's theoretical foundations in this context.

Abstract

The problem in this study is the existence of complaints from patients who use hospital services against the management of the X Regional General Hospital (RSUD) in the city of Bandung, obtained from the results of a preliminary survey. This problem needs to be solved by designing Islamic service quality measurements so as to increase hospital patient satisfaction. The main objective of this study is to design service quality based on Islamic law at the X Regional General Hospital in the city of Bandung. The method used in this research is the Service Quality (SERVQUAL) method and Islamic law. From the research results obtained from the validity testing results of 27 statements declared valid because the value of R count is greater than the value of R table and the results of reliability testing obtained a value of 0.917, then the measuring instrument used is reliable. Based on the servqual model used, there are several indicators from each part of the SERVQUAL element that must be made critical improvements by the RSUD to improve the quality of their services. It is hoped that this research can improve patient satisfaction with the quality of hospital management service.

Abstract

This study analyses the influence of governance and financial distress on climate funding in East Asia and the Pacific (EAP). A multiple linear regression analysis was undertaken using panel data from 12 EAP nations between 2015 and 2021 to investigate the links between governance, financial distress, and climate finance. The results demonstrate that governance structures are more successful in obtaining climate related funds. Additionally, financial challenges show a notable positive correlation, indicating that financially struggling nations tend to attract more global climate funds, possibly due to their limited domestic capacities for addressing climate change. The regression analysis explained 85.71% of the variations in climate finance, underscoring the importance of governance and financial conditions in influencing how climate finance is distributed within the region. These findings underscore the need of robust governance and financial stability in maximizing the use of climate finance for mitigation and adaptation initiatives.

Abstract

General elections are one of the most significant political activities in the life of a nation, necessitating accurate and reliable voter data. Inaccurate or unreliable voter data can lead to various issues, such as electoral fraud. One primary cause of inaccurate voter data is the presence of anomalies, which are data points that do not match the actual conditions. Anomalies in voter data can arise from several factors, including data entry errors, fraud, or system faults. To detect anomalies in voter data, various methods can be employed, with the Local Outlier Factor (LOF) method being one notable example. LOF is an unsupervised learning method in machine learning that identifies anomalies by measuring the distance between data points and their nearest neighbors. This study aims to implement the LOF method to detect anomalies in the voter data of the Sukabumi Regency Election Commission. The voter data used in this research was obtained from the Sukabumi Regency Election Commission for the year 2024.

Abstract

Young retail investors in the Indonesian capital market often face challenges due to various behavioral finance biases that can negatively impact their investment decisions. This study aims to examine the impact of herding, overconfidence, mental accounting, loss aversion, and bias on the investment decisions of novice retail investors, focusing on the moderating role of demographic factors such as generation, gender, education, and income. Using a quantitative design, data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 254 retail investors, with 246 valid responses analyzed through a regression-based method and moderation analysis using Hayes' PROCESS macro for SPSS. The results indicate that all behavioral finance factors negatively impact investment decisions, with demographic variables significantly moderating this impact. The findings suggest that tailored financial education and advisory services can help young novice investors make more informed and rational investment choices, thereby improving their financial well-being and market participation. The limitations of this study lie in its focus on a specific demographic in Indonesia, while its novelty includes a detailed analysis of the moderating impact of demographics on behavioral finance biases.

Abstract

This study investigates the foundation and role of Zending in the historical development of the GKJ Ngulakan Church in Kulon Progo from 1916 to 1980. The research aims to examine the establishment of the church and assess the contributions of Zending to its institutional and community growth. Employing the historical method, this study follows a structured approach, including topic selection, heuristics, source verification, interpretation, and historiography. The findings reveal that GKJ Ngulakan was officially established in 1916 by the Dutch Gereformeerd Zending, following the emergence of a Christian congregation in Ngulakan in 1913. Beyond its religious mission, Zending played a transformative role in local education, healthcare, and economic development. Over time, particularly from 1980 onwards, the church witnessed substantial growth, characterized by an increase in baptized members and the institutionalization of synod sessions for pastoral appointments. This study underscores the critical influence of Zending in shaping not only the religious landscape of GKJ Ngulakan but also its broader socio-economic environment, offering new insights into the intersection of missionary activities and local community development.
