Abstract

Elements are important parts of a literary work. An element functions to build a framework in a literary work, for instance, the character element contained in the Bekisar Merah novel by Ahmad Tohari. The main character in this novel is a female. Her name is Lasi. A female main character is also found in the Jatisaba novel by Ramayda Akmal. Her name is Maemunah. It shows that the element in the Bekisar Merah novel and the Jatisaba novel is similar. This element is especially in the aspect of the character. The objective of this study is to find out similarities and differences related to the elements contained in the Jatisaba novel and the Bekisar Merah novel. An intertextual and a structural approach were applied in this study. The data were collected through structural methods and semiotic reading methods. The data in this study are in the form of fragments of text of the Jatisaba novel and the Bekisar Merah novel. Data analysis was carried out by using structural methods and semiotic methods. The results show that there are similarities related to the elements between the two novels. These elements include theme, character, setting, and plot. In addition, there are also differences between the two novels related to the theme, character, setting, and point of view. This research is beneficial for the community to find out the relationship between novels.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of picture and picture model and synectic model in poetry writing study for 10th grade of Senior High School students. The populations for this research are the 10th grade Math and Science students of MA Assalafiyah and the 10th grade Math and Science students of SMA Negeri 1 Wanasari. The samples of this research are the first experiment group of 10th grade Math and Science students of MA Assalafiyah using picture and picture model and the second experiment group of 10th grade Math and Science students of SMA Negeri 1 Wanasari using synectic model. This research uses experimental research by applying factorial design. The result of this research shows that synectic model is more effective compared with the picture and picture model in poetry writing study for 10th grade of Senior High School students.

Abstract

The Novel Buku Besar Peminum Kopi by Andrea Hirata presents an interesting story about the process of achieving the goal of becoming a chess champion and wanting to beat the defending champion. The purpose of this study is to describe the value of the struggle for the ideals contained in the novel and its relevance to learning Indonesian in senior high school. This study used qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques using heuristic and data analysis techniques using hermeneutic. The data in thing research is in the form of discourse which shows the value of struggle to reach the ideals contained in the novel, the value of self-sacrifice, the value of unity, the value of respect, the value of cooperation. Which can be relevant to learning Indonesian in senior high school with KD 3.9 analyzing the content and language of the novel.

Abstract

Many teaching materials were found to be less relevant to the curriculum and students' needs. Other problems were also found, such as students' attitudes showing deviations. Deviations committed by students show a lack of humanist values within themselves. It is very important to apply humanist values to students. The application of humanist values can be given to students through short story material at school. In learning, it is necessary to develop digital magazine-based teaching materials containing humanist values because high school students are generation Z who are closely related to digital technology. The aim of this research is to describe needs, create designs, validate, conduct trials, and evaluate digital magazine-based short story teaching material products containing humanist values. The research method used in this research is the Research and Development (R&D) research method by Borg and Gall which has been adapted by Sugiyono, including 6 stages. The research subjects in this study were class The data collection techniques used were observation, interview, participatory and questionnaire techniques. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative descriptive analysis and statistical tests (T-Test). The research results include three things. First, short story teaching materials based on digital magazines containing humanist values are really needed by educators and students. Second, the development design consists of three parts, namely introduction, content and conclusion. Third, the trial results show that there is an increase in student learning outcomes. Thus, digital magazine-based short story teaching materials containing humanist values are effective in increasing students' understanding in learning short story material.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk  mengembangkan media pembelajaran dengan media blog pada maeteri menulis pantun dengan menggungakan metode penelitian pengembangan RnD serta  mengetahui kelayakan media blog sebagai media ajar pada pembahasan menulis pantun di kelas VII pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pokok di Sekolah Menengah Atas. Metode pengembangan yang digunakan yaitu metode RnD dari Borg and Gall. Tahapan pengembangan model ini  meliputi potensi masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, perbaikan desain,uji coba produk. Pengembangan divalidasi oleh tiga validator yakni ahli materi dengan penilaian mencapai 81% masuk dalam kategori  layak, validasi ahli media dengan penilaian mencapai 85% masuk kategori cukup layak, validasi guru pelajaran mencapai angka 96% kategori layak, Dari keseluruhan penilaian oleh validator kelayakan media blog yang sudah dipaparkan, media blog pada materi menulis pantun kelas VII ini memiliki kualitas layak dan dapat diterima sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran dengan kategori  layak (valid).

Abstract

Currently, novels are not only used as a form of emptiness, but also as a form of representation of women's struggles. One of the novels that represents women's struggle is the novel Women Who Wait in the Passage to the Sea by Dian Purnomo. This novel tells the struggle of women's roles in preserving the natural environment on Sangihe Island from a gold mining company. The purpose of this study is to describe the form of women's open resistance against the exploitation of nature in the novel Women Who Wait in the Passage to the Sea by Dian Purnomo. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. The results of this study show that there is an open resistance carried out by women in fighting against the exploitation of nature. The open resistance found included forming an alliance organization to save Sangihe Island, resistance through legal channels, signing petitions of community rejection of mining, demonstrations at police stations and DPRD, struggle campaigns in waters, spreading news of mining rejection both at the national and international levels. It can be concluded that there is open resistance carried out by women as a form of preserving the natural environment on Sangihe Island for future generations.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the social values and suitability of the novel series Kami (Bukan) by J.S. Khairen, which contains four novel titles, including Kami (Bukan) Sarjana Kertas, Kami (Bukan) Jongos Berdasi, Kami (Bukan) Generasi Bac*t, and Kami (Bukan) Fakir Asmara for literature teaching materials in high school seen based on the content of social values. The approach in this research is the pragmatic approach. The research method used is the qualitative descriptive method. The research instrument used is a data card. The data collection techniques used are heuristic reading techniques and note-taking techniques. The data analysis technique in this research uses hermeneutic reading. The results of this study show that there are 178 data containing social values in the Kami (Bukan) novel series; each novel contains 54 data in the KBSK novel, 49 data in the KBJB novel, 28 data in the KBGB novel, and 47 data in the KBFA novel. The social values include 15 data on the value of devotion, 10 data on the value of helping, 10 data on the value of kinship, 3 data on the value of loyalty, 21 data on the value of caring, 3 data on the value of belonging, 4 data on the value of discipline, 13 data on the value of empathy, 4 data on the value of justice, 3 data on the value of tolerance, 9 data on the value of cooperation, 2 data on the value of democracy, 10 data on material values, 6 data on vital values, 22 data on spiritual values, 20 data on the value of the relationship between humans and fellow humans, 4 data on the value of the relationship between humans and nature, and 19 data on the value of the relationship between humans and themselves. The four novels are based on the criteria for the feasibility of teaching materials, which include aspects of language, psychology, cultural background, aesthetics, pedagogy, and suitability for learning objectives. Based on the study results, the novel series Kami (Bukan) by J.S. Khairen can be utilized as literature teaching materials in high school.

Abstract

Literary works are a means for authors to convey thoughts, ideas, ideas and even criticism of phenomena and problems that occur in society. The issue of women in society is one of the exciting topics raised in literature. The novel Isinga presents the issues of Papuan women related to the existence and independence of women and their efforts to realize their existence. This research is qualitative, and the data analysis method is hermeneutic. The consequences of using hermeneutics are bound to two things: first, ascertaining the content in a word, sentence, text, and so on, and second, understanding the forms of instruction contained in the symbols. The research results show that Papuan women have a very high existence as individuals and social beings. Papuan women have an independent attitude formed due to circumstances that force their awareness to maintain their existence. Efforts made by women to realize their existence and foster women's independence include (1) trying to learn new things, (2) opening a business/trading in the market, (3) providing counseling for women and adolescents, (4) providing skills training for women and adolescents.

Abstract

Learning will be effective when it is conducted with fun. In line with this, by using Indonesian children poetry as the medium of learning, English learning can be done in a fun way. Moreover, Indonesian children poetry is a poetry written intentionally for children, that is those whose ages range from 2 up to 12 years old. With this underlying idea, this paper was written with the aim of describing English learning with the medium of Indonesian children poetry. The result shows that English learning is possible to be done by using Indonesian children poetry as the medium.

Abstract

Sastra nusantara merupakanbagian dari kekhazanahan budaya yang dimiliki oleh bangsa Indonesia. Salah satu wujud dari sastra tersebut, yaitu cerita legenda babad Cirebon yang berasal dari Jawa Barat. Cerita babad Cirebon setiap tahunnya dibacakan di Keraton Kanoman pada 1 Muharam dan telah berlangsung lebih dari 1 dekade. Dari hasil analisis menggunakan teori fungsi menurut Bascom. Tradisi pembacaan babad Cirebon yang telah diwariskan secara turun-temurun itu memuat 5 fungsi, yakni berfungsi sebagai sistem proyeksi, pranata religius, sarana pendidikan, sarana pemersatu atau sosial, dan pengesahan kebudayaan. Kata Kunci: Babad, Tradisi Lisan, dan Fungsi
