Abstract

The word Iqra 'is usually translated as "read.” This understanding follows the word Qara'a, which first meant "gathering.” The Qur'an o.” en uses the word Qara'a in various verses. When he received this sentence the, Prop, het Muhammad trembled and said he could not read. However, this verse’s revelation shows how the highest glorification and assessment of the ability to read and write various sciences is. These verses show that Allah SWT teaches people diverse knowledge, He opens multiple secrets, and He gives different keys to open the treasury of Allah's command, namely with a qalam or pen. Besides tongue reading, Allah also ordained that knowledge can be recorded. The Prophet Muhammad was a person who was not good at reading and writing, but he understood the importance of literacy. Literacy here is the ability to read and write. Including the ability to speak, calculate and solve problems at hand.

Abstract

This study examines the contributions of Imam Abu Hasan Al-Ash'ari and Imam Abu Mansur Al-Maturidi in shaping the Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (Aswaja) school of thought and its implications for Islamic education. Both imams are considered foundational figures in Islamic theology, and their ideas have influenced the development of the creed (aqidah), Islamic theology (ilm al-kalam), and Islamic philosophy in various Islamic educational institutions throughout history. Through a qualitative research method with a literature review approach, this study analyzes both primary and secondary sources, including classical texts and modern interpretations, to assess the relevance of their thoughts in the context of contemporary Islamic education systems. The findings indicate that the Ash‘arite and Maturidite theological frameworks, which emphasize the balance between revelation and rationality, have been instrumental in shaping curricula, teaching methodologies, and approaches to religious understanding. The concept of moderation, or wasatiyyah, in both theological schools is central to this approach, encouraging a balanced interpretation of Islamic teachings that addresses modern challenges. The study concludes that integrating the principles of Ash‘arite and Maturidite theology into contemporary educational practices offers valuable insights into fostering a more inclusive, balanced, and rational approach to Islamic learning.

Abstract

The Maharah qiroah learning strategy at Pondok Pesantren Rofiu Darojah plays a crucial role in enhancing students' Arabic reading skills. This study aims to analyze the applied strategies and the challenges faced in improving students' reading competence. A qualitative research method with a descriptive approach was used, involving interviews with the parents’ caregivers, teachers, and students. The findings indicate that the qiroah mufasshiroh, talaqqi, and drill methods are effective in improving students' comprehension and reading fluency. However, challenges remain, such as difficulties in understanding complex sentence structures and a lack of independent reading practice. Therefore, further efforts are needed, including strengthening nahwu and shorof learning, increasing reading practice intensity, and utilizing educational technology. With the implementation of more innovative strategies and full support from educators, students’ reading abilities are expected to improve significantly.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of a holistic approach in Arabic language learning at MA Raudlatus Syabab Sukowono, Jember. The holistic approach emphasizes the integration of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects to enhance students' overall Arabic language proficiency. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques including observations, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consist of Arabic language teachers, students, and educational staff involved in the learning process. Data analysis is conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the holistic approach is implemented through project-based learning, group discussions, and the use of audiovisual media. Key supporting factors include the active role of teachers in guiding and motivating students, a conducive learning environment, and the availability of diverse learning media. However, challenges identified include limited instructional time and variations in student comprehension of the material taught. Despite these challenges, the holistic approach has proven effective in improving students' Arabic language proficiency when supported by appropriate teaching strategies that align with students' needs. This study recommends enhancing the role of teachers in the learning process, optimizing the use of learning resources, and developing adaptive strategies to maximize the effectiveness of Arabic language learning in the future.

Abstract

This study discusses the use of the Bupin application in learning the Arabic language for grade VIII students at the NU Kraksaan Islamic Tsanawiyah madrasah. The Bupin application provides interactive features such as learning videos and QR code-based visual materials, which make learning more engaging and easy to understand. We collected data using descriptive qualitative research methods through interviews, observations, and documentation. This research illustrates how the Bupin app supports students' focus, motivation, and engagement in the learning process. Teachers also feel the benefits of this application because it helps deliver material creatively.  However, there are some technical constraints, such as limited devices and internet access, which pose challenges to implementing this application. Bupin enriches the modern learning process by providing a more interactive learning experience and supporting students' understanding of the concepts taught. This research encourages the development of school facilities and teacher training so that the Bupin application can be optimally utilized in Arabic language learning at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Islamiyah NU Kraksaan.
