Abstract

The goal of the research is to examine the behavior of migrant workers and PADMI. The research islocated in Eastern Malaysia and East Lombok Regency by using case study method to explore theobjects deeply, detailed and complete. Data were collected through observation and in-depth interviewwith the migrant workers and PADMI. The research showed that Ringgit or Malaysian currencycontribute significant influence to the migrant workers’ behavior, which showed by the change of theirfashion style, pattern of consumption, increasing entertainment needs and also the augmentation ofconsumptive life style. The consumptive life style is a new reality and relatively common, while to fulfillsexual needs the workers opted to marry the other female migrant workers because it was consideredmore save, more economical and also could prevent them from the contamination of sexual disease. At the other side, PADMI has not only principal role in fulfilling the family life needs but also mustattempt to maintain the completeness and harmony of the family/household. The inclination of havingseductive and sexual discomfiture from the other man is experienced often by PADMI, and sometimescould be ended in court. Without considering the economic impact, the high number of sued divorce inhometown of migrant workers gave evidence that migration activity ruin the family life of the migrantworkers.

Abstract

The rise of sharing economy platforms has created a competition between hotels and Airbnb accommodations in filling the city space. Airbnb's accommodation concept is highly efficient in utilizing unused assets, aligning with SDG Goal 11. A large number of tourist visitors causes the development of Airbnb in The Special Region of Yogyakarta. An exploration of the preferences of Airbnb accommodation users will show the characteristics of tourists in terms of tourism demand. Airbnb data is sourced from Airdna, an analytics platform of Airbnb. Airbnb data consist of spatial and non-spatial data. For non-spatial Airbnb data, content analysis was used to explain the preferences of Airbnb accommodation users through reviews. Content analysis was carried out by categorized information units for each review and grouped it in form of positive (satisfied) or negative (dissatisfied). For Airbnb spatial data, spatial analysis was performed based on distribution patterns, proximity to road access and tourist sites, and the associations between accommodations and surrounding objects. Airbnb accommodations in Yogyakarta City and its surrounding areas are distributed across the region, with higher concentrations in tourist zones. Content analysis findings indicate that host hospitality receives the highest proportion of positive feedback from Airbnb users. Spatially, it shows that Airbnb accommodations in the Jetis and Kraton sub-districts achieve the most favorable ratings for amenities, location, hygiene, host and staff performance, as well as room and toilet conditions. In contrast, factors such as price, calmness, and building remain relatively uniform across all surveyed areas.

Abstract

The natural tourism area of Teluk Youtefa in Jayapura City is known for its mangrove forests, rich in biodiversity, particularly Avicennia alba. Mangroves serve as coastal buffers, pollutant filters, and habitats for various flora and fauna. However, climate change, pollution, and human activities can affect the ecological balance and bioactive compound content of A. alba, which has long been recognized as a potential source of medicinal and natural antioxidant compounds. Fluctuations in water quality, invasive species, and land-use changes may disrupt both the ecosystem and the complexity of its bioactive constituents. Understanding the impact of environmental factors on both aspects is crucial for effective and sustainable conservation. This study aims to explore the relationship between environmental factors and the production of bioactive compounds in mangroves. The research investigates how environmental changes influence the ecological balance and bioactive content of Avicennia alba, and their implications for the sustainability of the Teluk Youtefa mangrove tourism area. Sampling was conducted using a purposive sampling method, focusing on environmental parameters such as temperature, salinity, pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), biological oxygen demand (BOD), and total suspended solids (TSS), along with laboratory analysis of bioactive compounds. The results show that the site with poor environmental quality (Site 1) recorded DO at 3.2 mg/L, BOD at 5.8 mg/L, and Pb at 0.07 mg/L. In contrast, the site with better environmental conditions (Site 3) showed DO at 5.5 mg/L, BOD at 2.1 mg/L, and salinity at 32.4 ppt. The bioactive compounds identified include Wagner’s alkaloids, Dragendorff’s alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, saponins, and tannins. The polluted site (Site 1) yielded only three compounds—flavonoids, terpenoids, and saponins—whereas the conservation site (Site 3) revealed the full set of six bioactive compounds, including alkaloids and tannins. These findings indicate that environmental quality has a direct influence on the complexity of bioactive compounds and the ecological potential of mangrove ecosystems.

Abstract

Plant diseases result from the interaction of virulent pathogens, susceptible host plants, and favorable environmental conditions, often indicated by the appearance of growth abnormalities, referred to as symptoms, across various plant parts. This study aims to identify the species of Intsia plants affected by diseases and to determine the types of fungi responsible for causing diseases in Intsia sp. This research involved field surveys, observations, and sampling of pathogenic fungi, followed by fungal isolation and identification at the Mycology Laboratory and the FMIPA Biology Laboratory, Cenderawasih University, Jayapura. The methods employed included site surveys, sampling, isolation of pathogenic fungi causing diseases in Intsia sp. , identification of disease-causing fungi, and pathogenicity testing. Based on observations, the Intsia species affected by diseases were Intsia bijuga and Intsia palembanica. Four fungal species were identified as disease-causing agents in Intsia plants, including Aspergillus sp., Penicillium sp., Fusarium sp., and Mucor sp., along with one unidentified fungal species.

Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country and a developing country which has the potential for inequality in development. Inequality in development is increasingly felt in several areas, including Jakarta. As Jakarta becomes more densely populated with increasingly complex problems, there is talk of moving the nation's capital to East Kalimantan Province. North Penajam Paser Regency is one of the locations for moving the new national capital. It is hoped that the relocation can overcome population problems and development inequality. Developmental inequality will continue to occur if it does not receive serious attention. Development inequality can be overcome by paying attention to regional potential, especially in the agricultural sector. Seeing this, it is very necessary to carry out research with the title "Mapping Potential Region of the Agricultural Sector to Increase Economic Development in Penajam Paser Utara Regency". The research was conducted in Penajam Utara Paser Regency using quantitative research methods. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques include documentation, observation, interviews, and interview guides, while analysis techniques use Location Quotient (LQ) and Shift Share analysis. The research results show that the agricultural sector's production results are quite varied, from the production of rice, secondary crops, vegetables, and biopharmaceuticals. The highest production result was rice production reaching a total production of 65,534.9 tons over 10 years. Babulu District is the region that produces the largest rice with a total production of 56,688.1 tons over 10 years. Several types of plants have basic commodities so they have the potential to be developed to help improve the community's economy, even though their growth rate is relatively slow. The relatively slow growth rate for each existing commodity means that none of the agricultural sector's commodities are considered superior or mainstay commodities. As we know, the largest average contribution to GRDP comes from the mining and quarrying sector, like other areas in East Kalimantan that are famous for their natural resources, not the agricultural sector.

Abstract

Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) infrastructure development supports the aerotropolis concept, an airport designed to be an independent city with many business activities to provide sustainable benefits for the surrounding community. However, some sensitive issues regarding the development of YIA's aerotropolis infrastructure are found currently, which impacts the response and development of the community in the area. This research aims to identify important issues that have developed in the observed area due to the development of the airport's infrastructure. This is qualitative and explorative research, carried out by observation and literature study to identify the issues that occur. The USG method is used to determine important issues found in the observation area, which leads to the important issues that can be determined as priorities in the area. The results show that each region has one important issue in common, even though these regions have different regional characteristics. Important issues in each region around YIA's infrastructure are further discussed in this article. Important issues in each region around YIA's infrastructure are further discussed in this article

Abstract

DKI Jakarta is experiencing land subsidence due to overexploitation of its use and the increasing population. It is feared that this decline or deformation will occur in the location of the new national capital. The research objective is "Mapping of Land Surface Deformation using PS-InSAR for Disaster Risk Management in the Future." Quantitative and qualitative research and data collection methods use secondary and primary data. Secondary data in the form of Permanent Scatterers Interferometry Synthetic Aperture Radar (PS-InSAR) Sentinel-1A images to determine soil deformation. Primary data uses a questionnaire to assess disaster risk management. Data analysis uses spatial and statistical analysis. Spatial analysis for land deformation mapping and statistical analysis for risk management. The results showed that the pattern of land deformation before the determination of the location of the capital city of Indonesia was random. On the other hand, after decision-making, it appears to be more systematic and homogeneous in adjacent areas with a decreasing range of about 5 cm per year. Other findings show that disaster risk management carried out by several agencies, especially the problem of land deformation in East Kalimantan, is still far from expectations and very minimal. The findings can be used for future disaster risk management to minimize negative impacts and reduce disaster risk. Keywords: PS-INSAR; Land Deformation; Capital City; Disaster Risk Management

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic transformed the industry into the strongest online industry of the last decade. One of the commodities that have experienced faster sales since the COVID-19 pandemic is healthy food; fruit is one of them. As a response to the crisis, online fruit traders have emerged using social media. Unfortunately, not all community groups can adapt to technology. Fruit traders who stay in the kiosk (selling offline) are included in the new left-behind group due to their inability to technology adaptation. This study aims to differentiate the sales flow of fruit commodities (before and after the appearance of online sales) and describe the advantages and disadvantages of each group (online traders and kiosk/offline traders). The data to answer the two research goals were processed in a qualitative descriptive way. The results show that online traders have a shorter sales flow than kiosk traders. The main advantages of online traders include using social media, which makes it easier to find market and customer information, low prices, and ownership of transportation. Meanwhile, the main disadvantages of offline fruit traders are the limited quantity of human resources, the inability to operate smartphones and social media, and not always having transportationKeywords: New Competition, Fruit Sales Flow, Online Trader, Kiosk Merchant
