Abstract

Physical activity in early childhood is crucial for physical, cognitive, social, emotional development, as well as to train their motor skills. Physical motor learning contributes to the development of basic skills and the improvement of other aspects. One of the methods applied is the alphabet movement learning model, which has an important role in the growth of early childhood, especially in supporting attention and memory abilities, which are the foundation in the development process. This study aims to analyze the interaction of alphabet movement activity on the attention and memory of early childhood. This study used a quasi-experimental Nonrandomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group design involving 100 children who were divided into an experimental group (n = 50) and a control group (n = 50). The experimental group was given additional locomotor and non-locomotor movements that interpreted the alphabet, while the control group followed the regular curriculum. The results showed that the experimental group had higher attention and memory abilities, which were caused by the multisensory approach and coordinative movements that improved body movement control and optimized cognitive function.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of transformational leadership strategies in developing life skills training programs for Paket C students at PKBM Suka Madju. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis to explore leadership dynamics and their impact on educational outcomes. The novelty of this study lies in examining transformational leadership within nonformal education, an area that has received limited attention compared to its application in formal education institutions. The findings indicate that transformational leadership significantly enhances program effectiveness by increasing student participation, aligning the curriculum with labor market needs, and integrating interactive, technology-based teaching methods. However, several challenges remain, including limited financial resources, low student motivation, and insufficient public awareness of the importance of nonformal education. To address these issues, PKBM Suka Madju continues to strengthen its institutional management, improve teacher development programs, and expand partnerships with industry and government agencies. The study highlights the need for sustained leadership development and collaboration to ensure the long-term success of life skills training programs in nonformal education. Keywords: Transformational leadership, life skills training, nonformal education, Paket C, PKBM Suka Madju.

Abstract

The researcher was interested in developing learning media "3D Pop Up general map". This study aims to develop a 3D Pop Up general map media and describe the feasibility and effectiveness of improving the creativity and learning outcomes of social studies material in the Indonesian geographical characteristics of grade V elementary school. This research was conducted in Ujung IX/ 34 SDN, Semampir, Surabaya in the second semester of the 2018-2019 academic year. The development of learning media in this study uses a 4-D model. In this study used instruments in the form of validation sheets, student activity observation sheets during learning, teacher and student response questionnaires to the media, student learning creativity observation sheets, and learning outcomes tests, affective and psychomotor observation sheets. The results of the study show: (1) the learning media developed meet the criteria: (a) the validity shown through the validator's assessment of the learning media is very good; (b) feasibility is shown through teacher and student responses to positive media questionnaires; (c) effectiveness, indicated by student activities in learning in the ideal time span, observations of student learning creativity when learning increases, completeness of cognitive, affective and psychomotor learning outcomes also increases. Thus the "3D Pop Up general map" can be used as an alternative to social studies learning in the fifth grade of elementary school.

Abstract

This thesis presents about education concept of Paulo Freire about the education which are critical, humanist, and free. This education concept is Freire's opinion towards traditional education practice. Paulo Freire sees that education reality is an oppression reality. That is reflected in two things in the in education praxis; first, hegemony in education, which is a relation between teacher and student that is not based on humanity relation, but between a sovereign and subordinate. Teacher becomes the dominant subject in the relationship and the student is just an object. Whereas, both teacher and student are the learning subject. Second, education in bank style. Education in this model places student as an empty bottle that must be filled by the teacher. Seeing that condition, Freire proposes different concept and school praxis. That is critical education, humanist, and independence as the writer says in this thesis. The result of that education process will create a mindful human being. Freire calls it consientization. This thesis will also examine the coherence with education in Indonesia.

Abstract

The study aims to develop the chemistry subject module and its effectiveness in learning to improve students' critical thinking. It was conducted on the students of class XI in SMA Negeri 1 Pulau-Pulau Terselatan Southwest Maluku. It is the research of development which uses the Borg and Gall (2003) model, who adapted Dick and Carey's model named Instructional System Design which includes ten stages of development. The product of this development research is the chemistry subject module for the lesson about the colloidal system. Afterward, the developed module gets validation test using questionnaires that are given to the experts and the users, to know its feasibility to use in learning. Then, the results indicate that it is in the criteria of very feasible to use in learning. After get validation, it is analyzed using Normalized Gain (N-gain) to determine its effectiveness to improve students' critical thinking. The analysis data is obtained through one group pre-test and post-test design. Then, the result of N-gain analysis is 0.74 categorized as High means that there is an increase in students' critical thinking after the application of the module. Thus it can be concluded that the chemistry subject module is suitable for use in learning, and it influences the effectiveness of learning since it can effectively improve students' critical thinking in SMA Negeri 1 Pulau-Pulau Terselatan Southwest Maluku.
