Abstract

This study aims at producing an assessment instrument of the PISA model to measure students’ problem-solving skills and scientific literacy in junior high schools that are valid, practical, and having potential effects. This research employed the design of development studies. The analysis used the Item Response Theory (IRT) Rasch model based on the junior high school students' responses to the developed PISA assessment instrument on natural science subjects. The result of this study was a test set of PISA model for the material of Vibration, Wave, and Sound consisting of 40 items. The test was valid in terms of content, constructs, and language according to the expert assessment, and practical based on small group trials. It also had a potential effect based on the students’ answers and questionnaires results in the field test. The qualitative analysis showed that the developed test had several potential effects, i.e. the development of students' problem-solving skills and scientific literacy so that they gained a relatively high ability to solve a test with the PISA model. The results of quantitative analysis through field test trials showed that there was a significant effect from the application of the PISA model test to enhance students’ scientific literacy and problem-solving skills in the junior high school with the Sig. value of 0.000 which was less than the significance level of 0.05 (α = 5%).

Abstract

Changing times in the 4.0 era requires humans to utilize technology in all activities to make it more accessible. One way that can be done in the world of education is to increase students' technological literacy. The purpose of this study was to determine students' technological literacy abilities in science learning class VII A and VII B of SMPN 1 Depok, especially on global warming material. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research type. The population in this study were students in class VII A and VIII B of SMPN 01 Depok Yogyakarta for the 2022-2023 academic year consisting of 30 and 28 students using a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques consist of interviews, observation and questionnaires. The instruments consist of interview sheets, observations and technological literacy questionnaires that have been validated by expert lecturers. The results obtained from the questionnaire get 3.00 in the high category. However, the results of observational research show that the level of students' technological literacy in science learning still needs to be improved, especially on indicators of knowing the advantages of various technologies and indicators of using multimedia features in learning. The level of ability that is less than optimal in several indicators is due to technological literacy that has not been integrated with the learning and assignment of science subjects. This research is important because it can be used as input for teachers to carry out learning by supporting students' technological literacy

Abstract

The material of the sensory system is important because in the sensory system there are several kinds of senses and the nervous system which is still abstract and the problem that occurs is a misconception about the material. Motivation is one of the factors that support success in learning, but students learning motivation is still low. This study aims to produce valid and feasible mobile learning-based electronic student worksheets and to measure students learning motivation on sensing system materials. The research subjects were students of class VIII MTsN 8 Banyuwangi. This study uses Research and Development methods and 4D models with 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and dissemination. The instrument used was a material validation questionnaire, medial, readability, and students' learning motivation. The validation results show the average percentage of the material test is 94% and the media is 94% with very feasible criteria. The percentage of the students' readability test has an average value of 71% with a good category and the students' learning motivation is very strong with a percentage of 82%. Thus, electronic student worksheets can measure students' learning motivation. For future researchers, it is recommended to use the product in classroom learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui adanya perbedaan pemahaman konseppeserta didik yang diberi perlakuan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) danProject Based Learning (PBL) serta (2) mengetahui adanya perbedaan keterampilan proses sainspeserta didik yang diberi perlakuan model Problem Based Learning (PBL) dan Project Based Learning (PBL).Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain “Nonequivalent Control Group Design”.Populasi penelitian ini seluruh kelas VII di SMP Negeri 5 Sleman. Sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pemilihan secara acak (cluster random sampling) sehingga diperoleh peserta didik kelas VII A sebagai kelas eksperimen 1 dengan perlakuan model Problem Based Learning dan peserta didik kelas VII B sebagai kelas eksperimen 2 dengan perlakuan model Project Based Learning. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa (1) tes, (2) lembar observasi keterampilan proses sains, dan (3) lembar keterlaksanaan model Problem Based Learning dan Project Based Learning. Analisis yang digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 18.0 yaitu uji independent sample t-test.Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa (1) tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada pemahaman konsep antara peserta didik yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dengan model Project Based Learningdengan nilai P sebesar 0,390 dengan taraf signifikan 0,05 dan (2) tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada keterampilan proses sains antara peserta didik yang menggunakan model Problem Based Learning dengan model Project Based Learning dengan nilai P sebesar 0,214 dengan taraf signifikan 0,05. Hasil tersebut disebabkan pada tema penjernihan air peluang munculnya aspek pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains yang sama, namun demikian tetap terdapat perbedaan pada setiap aspek pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan proses sains.Kata kunci: Model Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning, Model Pembelajaran Project Based Learning, Pemahaman Konsep, Keterampilan Proses Sains, Penjernihan Air.AbstractThis research aims to(1) determine differences of understanding of the concept that uses the model of Problem Based Learning and the class that uses the model of Project Based Learning and (2)determine differences of science process skills that uses the model of Problem Based Learning and the class that uses the model of Project Based Learning. This research is a quasi-experimental design with control group pretest-posttest design. The study population numbered 128 students. The sample in this study was done by using the random selected (cluster random sampling) in order to obtain learners VII A as the experimental class 1 with a treatment of Problem Based Learning model and learners class VII B as the experimental class 2 with the treatment of Group Investigation model. The instrument used in this research were (1) test the understanding of the concepts, (2) the observation science process skills, and (3)the report sheet of Problem Based Learning model and Project Based Learning model. The analysis used to test research hypotheses using SPSS 18.0 is test of independent sample t-test. The results of the research concluded that there is no significant difference in the understanding of the concepts among learners who use the model with the Problem Based Learning and Project Based Learning model with a P value of 0.390 with significant level 0,05 and there is no significant difference in science process skills among learners who use the model with the Problem Based Learning and Project Based Learning model with a P value of 0.214 with significant level 0,05. Understanding the concept and science process skills of students between the two classes there is no significant difference on the theme of Purification Of Water for both of these models has characteristics similar but still there is a difference in every aspect of understanding of the concept and science process skills.Keywords: Inquiring minds want to know strategy, active knowledge sharing strategy, the scientific attitude, mastery of the concepts.Keywords: Problem Based Learning Model, Project Based Learning Model, The Understanding of The Concepts, Science Process Skills, Purification of Water.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan buku saku (pocket book) IPA mobile learning QR code berbasis Problem Based Learning pada materi Makhluk Hidup dan Lingkungan terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa kelas VII SMP N 2 Playen. Desain penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan jenis desain yang digunakan yaitu time series design. Penelitian ini menggunakan media pembelajaran buku saku mobile learning Quick Respone code berbasis problem based learning. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah (1) Lembar keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, (2) Lembar penilaian aspek afektif, kognitif dan psikomotor pada pembelajaran, (3) Soal pretest dan posttest tingkat soal berpikir kritis. Teknik analisis data meliputi uji prasyarat dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh positif dari penggunaan buku saku (pocket book) IPA mobile learning QR code berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) pada materi Makhluk Hidup dan Lingkungan terhadap kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa.Kata Kunci: Buku saku, Problem Base Learning, Quick Respone-Code

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengembangkan multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif berbasis lectora inspire yang valid, (2) mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif (3) mengetahui peningkatan motivasi belajar peserta didik setelah menggunakan multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif, dan (3) mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah menggunakan multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dan pengembangan dengan model 4-D. Prosedur penelitian dan pengembangan ini meliputi tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan lembar validasi multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif, angket respon peserta didik terhadap multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif, angket motivasi belajar peserta didik dan soal pretest-posttest hasil belajar. Teknik analisis data kelayakan multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif dan respon peserta didik adalah konversi skor kuantitatif menjadi nilai kualitatif dengan empat kategori. Teknik analisis motivasi belajar adalah paired sample t-test dan pengubahan nilai kualitatif menjadi kuantitatif lalu menghitung persentase dan mengubahnya menjadi lima kategori. Teknik analisis data skor pretest-posttest hasil belajar adalah paired sample t-test dan perhitungan n-gain score. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif yang dikembangkan peneliti, menurut dosen ahli dan guru IPA masuk kategori sangat baik. (2) Respon peserta didik terhadap multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif masuk kategori sangat baik. (3) Motivasi belajar peserta didik mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan setelah menggunakan multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif, dengan peningkatan sebesar 9,64%. (4) Hasil belajar peserta didik mengalami peningkatan secara signifikan setelah menggunakan multimedia pembelajaran IPA interaktif dengan n-gain score sebesar 0,53 yang masuk kategori sedang.Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar, Lectora Inspire, Motivasi Belajar, Multimedia Pembelajaran IPA interaktifThis study aims to: (1) develop a valid science interactive multimedia learning based lectora inspire, (3) to know the improvement of learning motivation of learners after using interactive learning IPA multimedia, and (3) to know the improvement of learning achievement of learners after using interactive multimedia learning IPA. This research is a research and development with 4-D model. This research and development procedure includes define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The data were collected by using interactive interactive learning IPA validation sheets, questionnaires of students' responses to interactive IPA learning media, motivation questionnaire of learners and pretest-posttest of learning achievement. The technique of data analysis of the feasibility of interactive multimedia learning of IPA and the response of learners is the conversion of quantitative score into qualitative value with four categories. Techniques of learning motivation analysis are paired sample t-test and conversion of qualitative value into quantitative then calculate the percentage and convert it into five categories. Data analysis technique of pretest-posttest score of learning result is paired sample t-test and n-gain score calculation. The results of this study are (1) interactive learning IPA multimedia developed by researchers, according to expert lecturers and science teachers in very good category. (2) The response of learners to interactive learning IPA multimedia is very good. (3) Students' learning motivation significantly improved after using interactive interactive science teaching, with an increase of 9.64%. (4) Students' learning achievement have increased significantly after using interactive multimedia learning with n-gain score of 0,53 in the medium category.Key Words:Learning Motivation, Learning Achievement, Lectora Inspire, Science Interactive Multimedia Learning

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan LKPD IPA, respon peserta didik dan keefektifan LKPD IPA Modified Free Inquiry yang dikembangkan untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran peduli lingkungan akibat penambangan pasir di kawasan Kecamatan Muntilan, Kabupaten Magelang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (RD). Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket penilaian LKPD IPA, angket respon peserta didik terhadap LKPD IPA, angket sikap peduli lingkungan, dan lembar observasi sikap peduli lingkungan. Subjek penelitian melibatkan 2 dosen ahli dan 2 guru IPA sebagai validator, serta 24 peserta didik kelas VII C SMP Negeri 1 Muntilan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif validasi dan respon peserta didik terhadap LKPD IPA, gain score sikap peduli lingkungan dan one t-test, serta presentase sikap peduli lingkungan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah kelayakan LKPD IPA memperoleh nilai A (sangat baik). Respon peserta didik terhadap LKPD memperoleh nilai A (sangat baik). LKPD IPA dapat menumbuhkan sikap peduli lingkungan dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan dengan gain score dan melalui uji t. Presentase dari sikap peduli lingkungan berdasarkan observasi pada setiap pertemuan mengalami kenaikan.Kata kunci: LKPD IPA, modified free inquiry, sikap peduli lingkunganThe aim of this research are to know the feasibility and the response of the learners and determine effectiveness of science student worksheet Modified Free Inquiry developed to raise the environmental awareness attitudes as a result of sand mining in Muntilan Sub-district, Magelang District.Type of this research is Research and Development (RD). The instruments are questionnaire for evaluation science student worksheet, questionnaires of response learners to the science student worksheet, questionnaires the environmental awareness attitudes and form of observation for the environmental awareness attitudes. Subject of this research involving 2 experts and 2 science teachers as the validator and 24 learners class VII C of Muntilan 1 Junior High School. The data were analized using descriptive analysis for validation and the response of the learners to the science student worksheet, gains score the environmental awareness attitudes and t-test type one-t test, and the precentage of the environmental awareness attitudes. The results of this research are the feasibility of science student worksheet obtain the value A (excellent). The response learners obtain the value A (excellent). Science student worksheet can raise the environmental awareness attitudes by the results of the calculation with the gains score and the significant of t-test. Abstract

This study aims to develop an interactive electronic module product with a contextual approach and determine the effect of its use on students' learning motivation on conductor and insulator material. This study uses the R&D method with a 4D model. The research instrument is a questionnaire. The product was tested for feasibility, material validity, readability test, and measurement of student's learning motivation. The research subjects were seventh-grade students of MTsN 8 Banyuwangi and 5 validators. Data were analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study are the average product score is 3.9 with very good criteria and the percentage of 98% is very feasible, the validity of the material with a score of 3.8 with very good criteria and the percentage of 95% is very valid, the readability test obtained a score of 3 with very good criteria and percentage of 75% and learning motivation of students obtained a score of 3 and a percentage of 100% with high criteria. It can be concluded that the contextual approach interactive electronic module affects students' learning motivation on conductor and insulator material

Abstract

Problem solving skills (PSS) are one of the 21st century skills, but the problems encountered show that students' PSS in science learning are still low, using the PBL model with the STEM approach could be a solution to the students’ problems. So, that the purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the PBL model with STEM approach to students' PSS. The method used in this research is quasi experimental method with one group pre-test-post-test design. The research population was students of class VIIA at a SMPN in Jombang. The instrument used was in the form of multiple choice questions with reference to PSS indicators, the data obtained is processed statistically and the results are analysed using n-gain calculations. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the application of the PBL model with the STEM approach has an effect on the PSS of students in the moderate n-gain category, when viewed from the PSS indicator, the problem identification indicator gets the highest average of 94% followed by the indicator of setting goals, formulating solutions, and implementing solutions with an average of 72%, and result evaluation indicator with the lowest average of 66%.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an animation technology-based learning media product with the STEM-PBL model to improve critical thinking and digital literacy that is feasible and valid. The research uses a 4-D model. The research subjects were 27 MTsN, 1 Blitar City student, two expert lecturers, and one science teacher. The instruments used were validation sheets, readability, and practicality questionnaires with a 5-level Likert scale. The data analysis technique is descriptive and uses the ideal standard deviation value. The research results show that the product is in a very valid and feasible category, with a percentage of 94% material experts and 92% media experts. The readability and practicality tests are in a very good variety with rates of 85% and 99%. So that the product is very feasible and valid to use in learning. The recommendation for further research is to test the effectiveness of media when learning to improve student's critical thinking and digital literacy.
