Abstract

Background: Pregnant women with HIV positive is potential risk to transmit the virus to their infants. Prevention Mother to Child Transmittion (PMTCT) program is a solution for HIV women if they want to have children. However, most pregnant women detected HIV positive when they have been pregnant for more than 6 months through Provider initiated test and counselling (PITC). On the other hand, the data shows that the increasing number of HIV positive women who have been willing to have children.  This research aims to identify and examine the factors influence the plan of having children among HIV-positive women who access HIV treatment in Kariadi Hospital Semarang. Method: This study employs a quantitative research design with cross sectional approach, followed by qualitative study to explore the feeling and attitudes of women with HIV positive to plan of having children. There were 31 women involved in this study, selected with the criteria of fertile women HIV positive who have been taking antiretroviral therapy in Kariadi Hospital and willing to participate in this study. Qualitative data collected from two women who has been planning to have children. Quantitative data were analyzed by univariate, Chi-Square and multiple logistic regression. Whilst, qualitative data employ content analysis.Results: There were 16% of women with HIV positive who have been intending to have children in this study. The rest have not planned it because they worried if their pregnancy and delivery could transmit HIV to their infants. CD4 cell count, ARV access and women’s attitudes have significant correlation to the intention of having children among women with HIV positive. Comprehensive information about PMTCT and ARV were needed to deliver to fertile women with HIV positive.

Abstract

Perception is essentially a cognitive process experienced by everyone to understand information about its environment, either through the senses of sight, hearing, feeling, living, and smell. Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) developed prior to the spread of HIV & AIDS through sexual behavior (having sex) with multiple partners, both heterosexual and homosexual. The purpose of this study was to understand the female sex workers’ knowledge of STIs, their perceived vulnerability, severity, and prevention behavior of STIs transmission.  The study was conducted using a qualitative approach. The method used in this study is the in depth interviews (in-depth interviews) in 3 commercial sex workers suffer from IMS and two group discussions (FGDs) and interviews with informants triangulation is pimp at Sunan Kuning brothel in Semarang.  Perceptions of vulnerability to female sex workersabout prevention of STIs has been good as well as the perception of the seriousness of the commercial sex workers for STIs has also been good. However, STI prevention behaviors they are still not good. It is evident that they still believe the myths that  developed in the communityabout how that is believed to prevent the transmission of STIs.

Abstract

ABSTRACTAnalysis of factors associated with the incidence of STIs adolescents in STIs Health center clinic Rijali and Passo Ambon City; Sexually transmitted infections are a serious problem in Indonesia as the disease continues to increase every year due to sexual behavior patterns among adolescents more freely. The purpose of this study was to analyze factors associated with the incidence of STIs in adolescents in STIs clinics and health centers Rijali and Passo Ambon City. This type of research is expalanatory research with cross sectional / prevalence study. The subjects of this study were teenagers who came for treatment, control and counseling at health centers and Passo Rijali with a sample size of 100 people. Data analysis was done by means of univariate, bivariate with Chi-square and multivariate logistic regression. Results of bivariate analysis of age and religiosity associated with risky sexual behavior while berisoko sexual behavior and history associated with the IMS IMS events. Results of logistic regression test showed a history of STIs are variables that most influence on the incidence of STIs in which teenagers who have a history of STIs, the possibility of risk for infection with STIs 31.4 times greater compared to teens who do not have a history of STIsKeywords : Sexually transmitted infections, adolescents

Abstract

ABSTRAKBerdasarkan SKRT-surkesnas 2001 menunjukkan bahwa prevalensi karies gigi dan mulut adalah 10 (sepuluh) kelompok terbanyak yang dikeluhkan masyarakat. Peneltian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi ketrampilan perawat gigi dalam melaksanakan kegiatan promosi dan prevensi kesehatan gigi dan mulut di Kota Kupang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode explanatory study dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan observasi dengan jumlah sampel 31 orang parawat gigi.Ketrampilan perawat gigi dalam melaksanakan kegiatan promosi dan prevensi kesehatan gigi dan mulut termasuk kategori kurang (77.4 %), sedangkan yang baik hanya 22.6 %. Variabel yang berhubungan langsung dengan ketrampilan perawat gigi adalah tingkat pendidikan, masa kerja, pengetahuan dan konsultasi dan pembimbing. Variabel yang paling berpengaruh terhadap ketrampilan perawat gigi adalah tingkat pendidikan perawat gigi.Kata Kunci : ketrampilan perawat gigi, kegiatan promosi dan prevensi, kesehatan gigi dan mulut.ABSTRACTThe Dental Nurses’s Skill In Conducting Promotion And Prevention Of Oral Health In Kupang City;Based on the 2001 Household Health Survey-SURKESNAS, dental and oral disease is the high prevalence rate abaout 60% from the 10 groups of people complained of most diseases. It’s necessary for dental nurses who have good skills in carrying out these activities. This study aims to determine factor-factor that affects dental nurses skills in conducting promotional activities and prevention of oral health in the Kupang City. This study uses explanatory method with cross sectional approach. Data collection by interviews and observations with number of samples of the 31 dental nurses. Skills of dental nurses in carrying out promotion activities and prevention of oral health including less categories (77.4%) and only 22.6% is good categories. The variable that most affect to skill level of dental nurse is the education of dental nurse.Keywords: dental nurse skills, promotion and prevention, oral health.

Abstract

Di Kabupaten Magelang kasus HIV positif pada remaja mulai muncul tahun 2008 dan selalu muncul pada tahun berikutnya, demikian juga untuk perkawinan dibawah umur pada tahun 2011 meningkat 3x lipat dari 2009 yang mayoritas disebabkan kehamilan tidak diinginkan. Remaja sangat membutuhkan informasi mengenai seksualitas dan ibu sangatlah penting. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku ibu dalam memberikan pendidikan seksualitas. Jenis penelitian ini adalah analitik korelasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juni s.d. Juli tahun 2012. Sampel sebanyak 92 ibu yang memiliki anak remaja berusia 10-14 tahun dan tergabung dalam BKR Percontohan di Kabupaten Magelang yang dipilih secara cluster sampling. Pengumpulan data dengan wawancara menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data meliputi univariat, bivariat dan multivariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hanya 44,6% ibu yang berperilaku baik dalam memberikan pendidikan seksualitas. Ada hubungan antara pendidikan ibu (p=0.001), keikutsertaan ibu dalam organisasi kemasyarakatan (p=0.001), tingkat pengetahuan ibu tentang KRR (p=0.000), tingkat pengetahuan ibu tentang pendidikan seksualitas (p=0.000), persepsi ibu akan kemampuan dirinya dalam memberikan pendidikan seksualitas (p=0.000), sikap ibu mengenai pendidikan seksualitas (p=0.002) dengan perilaku ibu dalam memberikan pendidikan seksualitas. Sedangkan variabel yang paling berpengaruh adalah persepsi ibu akan kemampuan dirinya dalam pendidikan seksualitas (p=0.001, OR=6.72).Kata kunci: perilaku, ibu, pendidikan seksualitasABSTRACTIn Magelang HIV positive cases in adolescents began to emerge in 2008 and always comes up in the next year, also in 2011 the marriage under age 3x increase from 2009, the majority due to unwanted pregnancies. Teens need information about sexuality, and the role of mothers in the early adolescent is very important. The purpose of this research is to find out the factors that affect mother’s behavior in giving the sexuality education. This type of research is an analytic correlational with cross sectional approach. This research due on June-Juli 2012. Sample of 92 mothers of adolescents aged 10-14 years belonging to the BKR Pilot Magelang selected by cluster sampling. Data collection by interview using a questionnaire. Data analysis includes univariate, bivariate and multivariate analyzes. The results showed only 44.6% of mothers who behaved well in giving sexuality education. There are relationship between mother’s education (p=0.001), the participation of mother in society organizations (p=0.001), mother’s level of knowledge about the ARH (p=0.000), mother’s level of knowledge about sexuality education (p=0.000), mother’s perception of her ability to provide sexuality education (p=0.000), mother’s attitudes toward sexuality education (p=0.002) and mother’s behavior in providing sexuality education. While from the above variables are most influential is mother’s perception of the ability in giving sexuality education (p=0.001, OR=6.72).Keywords: behavior, mother, sexuality education

Abstract

Information and Counseling Center for Reproductive Health Youth (PIK KKR) Adolescent Care and Health Services (PKPR) are not fully utilized by adolescents. This study aimed to find out the description of adolescent reproductive health service utilization in Batang Regency. Data were collected through Focus Group Discussion and in-depth interviews involving 42 people in FGD and 12 insider in-depth interview. Utilization of reproductive health services is still low rod. Most teens have not learned of adolescent reproductive health services in Batang. Some teens perceive the existing services are not innovative, boring and not attractive because the use of inappropriate delivery of media, youth service officer for the clinic is not friendly, discriminate-distinguish and not concern for teenagers. Adolescent reproductive health services needed by adolescents is a service which is located in strategic places, special places, the official collaborationbetween physicians, psychologists, substitute teachers, adolescent, with care official, could keep a secret, do not discriminate and competent. The case of unwanted pregnancy requires special services for psychological therapy and involves active participation of service personnel to conduct home visits.

Abstract

Background: Filariasis is chronic infectious disease due to filariasis worm infection which transmitted through mosquitoe bites. There were 241 districts as filariasis endemic districts in Indonesia. More than 50% of the population in endemic areas are potential to contract with this disease. High prevalence of filariasis cases, can cause the increasing mortality cases if the disease did not treat it properly and prevent it early. There were 21 new cases found and three cases of them have died. This study aims to analyze the supporting factors influence to prevention behaviour of filariasis.Method: This study is a quantitative study with a cross sectional design involved 178 respondents as total sampling. The people who live surrounding the filariasis sufferer (≤ 100m) were recruited as a sample. Data collected using face to face interview by standard questionnaire. Data were analyzed using univariate, Chi-square test and multiple logistic regression.Results: The results shows that the support of family, neighbors, and community leaders were not significant associated to the filariasis preventive behavior of respondents (P value> 0.05) while the support of health workers and the exposure of health promotion programs were significant associated the filariasis prevention behavior of the respondents. According to multivariate analysis, exposure on health promotion programs and supporting from health provider influenced the prevention behaviour of respondents with Odds Ratio 11.237 and p value 0.023. The role of health providers in the prevention programs to the community was greatly important to improve knowledge, attitude, and people behaviour to prevent this disease. To reduce disease incidence is needed community empowerment program to improve community participation in preventing disease.Keywords: filariaris, supporting factors, behaviour of preventing filariasis

Abstract

ABSTRAKBerdasarkan data dari Dinas Kesehatan Kota Semarang pada tahun 2008, sebanyak 110 kunjungan ibu hamil ke VCT, 5 ibu di antaranya positif HIV dan pada tahun 2009 sebanyak 368 kunjungan ibu hamil ke VCT, 14 ibu di antaranya positif HIV. Walaupun ada peningkatan jumlah ibu hamil yang melakukan tes HIV, namun jumlahnya masih sedikit. Pada tahun 2010 ibu hamil yang melakukan tes HIV pada kegiatan mobile VCT di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Bandarharjo sebayak 193 orang dari jumlah ibu hamil yang mengakses layanan antenatal sebanyak 706 orang.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi perilaku ibu hamil untuk tes HIV.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan rancangan Explanatory Research dengan pendekatan cross sectional . Besar sampel adalah 180 orang.Analisa data secara univariat, bivariat dengan chi-square dan multivariat dengan regresi logistik.Hasil Menunjukkan sebagian besar responden (51,1%) rmengikuti tes HIV. Faktor yang paling dominan berpengaruh terhadap perilaku ibu hamil untuk tes HIV adalah dukungan suami. Variabel yang berhubungan terhadap perilaku ibu hamil untuk tes HIV adalah variabel pengetahuan, persepsi kerentanan, persepsi halangan, persepsi manfaat, isyarat bertindak, akses informasi, dukungan suami, dukungan bidan dan dukungan kader.Kata Kunci: perilaku ibu hamil, tes HIVABSTRACTBehavior of Pregnant Woman for HIV Testing in Bandarharjo and Tanjung Mas Semarang City;Based on data from Health Departement of Semarang City 2008, total of 110 visits to VCT of pregnant women, 5 of whom were HIV-positive mothers and in 2009 as many as 368 visits to the VCT of pregnant women, 14 of whom are HIV-positive mothers. While there are an increasing number of pregnant women tested for HIV, but the numbers are still small. In 2010 pregnant women tested for HIV at VCT mobile activities in the region of Bandarharjo Public Health there were 193 people from the number of pregnant women accessing antenatal care as much as 706 people. This study aims to determine the factors that influence behavior of pregnant women for HIV testing. This study uses quantitative methods with explanatory research and cross sectional approach. The sample size was 180 people . Univariate data analysis used, chi-square bivariate and multivariate used logistic regression Results showed the most respondents (51.1%) followed HIV test. The most dominant factor that affected behavior of pregnant women for HIV testing was husband’s support. Variables related to behavior of pregnant women for HIV testing were variable knowledge, perceived of vulnerability, perceived of barriers, perceived of benefits, cues to action, access to information,husband’s support, midwife’s support and cadre’s support.Keywords:behavior of pregnant women, HIV testing

Abstract

Background: Along with the times, the population at high risk of sexually transmitted infections increase rapidly. From a preliminary study in the district Wanasari Brebes revealed that their knowledge about sexual behavior said to be low risk and lots of sexual risk behavior without condom.Method: This research is descriptive quantitative analytical with cross-sectional design study, methods for collecting the data by distributing questionnaires to find a picture on the risky sexual behaviors of respondent. The sample in this research is 120 people.Results: 86,7% respondent has risky sexual behavior. 70,8% of respondent is above 32 years old with low education as much as 57,5% and not marriage yet 52,5%. 61,7% of respondent has risky behavior in their leisure time. Variables that significantly relationship against sexual behavior are ages and leisure activity.based on multivariate analisys, variables that strongly connected to sexual behavior is ages, leisure activity, and religiousity. Advice given to Departemen Kesehatan Brebes for further enhance the knowledge of onion traders in terms of risky sexual behavior, include facilitating spare time with things that are more useful to avoid risky sexual behavior.Keyword : Behavior, sexual risk, Brebes

Abstract

Background: Cleanliness of tourist area is managers and visitors responsibilities to maintain the beauty of tourist destinations. Disposing of trash in its place becomes very important in maintaining the cleanliness of tourist sites. The role of health promotion media to improve awareness and behavior of tourist in maintaining cleanliness is necessary to be conducted. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of providing garbage disposal posters towards the utilising trash bin in tourist sites.Method: This study employs a quantitative method with a quasy experimental approach, non randomized control group pretest posttest design. It was carried out in four tourist sites which consist of two tourist sites as intervention area and the others as control. Sample of this study was consisted of 15 bins/each site which met the criteria of sanitation standards and selected purposively so that the total sample was 30 bins in the intervention and 30 bins in the control areas. The variables included the volume of waste in each trash bin, the quality of trash bin distributed and the number of visitors before and after intervention. Measurements were conducted for 14 days.Results: The volume of waste was increased significantly after providing posters in the intervention sites compared to controls’. Likewise, the quality of trash bin distributed at tourist sites was also increased significantly in the intervention areas compared to controls. The number of visitors at four destinations was increased significantly after intervention because post-test was conducted at long vacation period. That would directly effect to waste volume in the trash bin at 4 tourist destinations. This study recommends to managers to put interesting poster or other instagramable media to promote healthy behaviour related to the cleanliness and beauty at tourist areas.
