Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a strategic role in supporting local economic growth, yet most MSME actors in Tulungagung Regency still rely on mass marketing approaches without clear market segmentation and have limited understanding of the buyer persona concept, resulting in promotions that are untargeted and inefficient. This community service activity aimed to enhance MSME actors’ understanding of the importance of market segmentation, assist them in determining appropriate target markets, and guide them in developing buyer personas as the basis for more effective marketing strategies. The activity employed a service learning approach implemented through five stages, namely observation, socialization, mentoring, implementation, and evaluation, conducted directly over approximately five days with nine MSME partners in the culinary and beverage sector in Tulungagung Regency. The results showed that all nine MSME partners successfully identified their market segments based on demographic, geographic, psychographic, and behavioral aspects, and each developed a specific buyer persona reflecting their ideal customer’s characteristics, needs, and digital habits. The mentoring also produced tailored marketing strategy recommendations for each business, including social media content optimization, product variation, and service improvement aligned with target segments. These outcomes indicate that the practice-based mentoring approach effectively improved MSME actors’ comprehension and practical skills in designing consumer data-driven marketing strategies, thereby strengthening their business competitiveness. Continued mentoring is recommended to enable MSMEs to adapt their marketing strategies to evolving consumer behavior and market dynamics.

Abstract

Accuracy in calculating the cost of production is a key factor in determining selling prices, ensuring that locally produced goods can compete with imported products. The most suitable method to apply is job order costing, which is a production cost calculation method based on specific orders. This method is particularly appropriate for companies that manufacture goods according to special requests or customer specifications. Indonesia’s fashion industry continues to grow every year, contributing an export value of up to USD 16.5 billion in 2022. The production of dresses and kebaya, which is generally order-based, also faces challenges in determining production costs, particularly in the calculation of manufacturing expenses. Accurate production cost calculation directly influences selling prices, revenue, and business profits, and on a macro scale also contributes to export value. Therefore, an educational program on production costs using the job order costing approach was conducted for the dress and kebaya tailoring community in Ringinpitu, Tulungagung. Initial findings indicated that the community had not included overhead costs (such as electricity, rent, and machine maintenance) in their calculation of production costs. The educational activities covered an understanding of the basic concepts of job order costing, hands-on practice in cost calculation using order cards, and techniques for determining product selling prices. The results showed a significant improvement in participants understanding after the educational sessions, the increase is approximately 56%. This was evidenced by the paired sample t-test, which demonstrated a difference between the pretest score (mean = 59.00) and the posttest score (mean = 92.00) with a significance level of α = 0.000.

Abstract

Abstract

This activity aims to train the ability of MSME actors, especially local fish farmers in Boyolangu District, to organize financial records independently and introduce the preparation of profit and loss statements as part of simple financial reports. The targets of the service activities to farmers were 15 MSMEs. During the implementation, one of the main obstacles faced was the lack of initial knowledge of the participants regarding financial records and the assumption that accounting is complicated and less relevant to small businesses. The results of this service activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the importance of structured financial records. Participants began to realize that financial reports can help them understand the financial condition of the business, estimate profits earned, and manage costs more wisely. In addition, this training also contributed to the creation of better business management, which is expected to encourage the growth and sustainability of fish farming businesses in the long term.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of economic productivity, Islamic consumption, and Islamic production on welfare in Indonesia in 2023. Social inequality and unequal distribution of welfare remain fundamental issues, raising profound questions about the continued increase in economic growth that has not been fully absorbed by the lower levels of society. This study uses quantitative methods from secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS), and halal.kemenperin.go.id. This study sample covers 34 provinces out of a population of 38 provinces in Indonesia in the 2023 period, due to limited data availability. Multiple linear regression was used for data analysis, while SPSS version 25 was utilized for data processing. The results of this study indicate that, simultaneously, economic productivity, Islamic consumption, and Islamic production have a positive and significant effect on welfare. Partially, economic productivity has a positive but insignificant effect on welfare. Then, partially, Islamic consumption has a negative but insignificant effect on welfare. And partially, Islamic production has a positive and significant effect on welfare. This finding confirms that prosperity in Islamic economics is not only determined by economic growth alone, but also by the blessings of balanced and fair productive and consumption activities.

Abstract

Indonesia’s sharia capital market, represented by the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI), has shown rapid growth; however, sharia stock portfolio diversification practices and the use of financial ratios for profit optimization have not yet been applied systematically by investors. This study aims to thematically analyze various sharia stock portfolio diversification strategies and to explain the role of financial ratios in shaping an optimal portfolio based on issuers included in the ISSI. The method employed is a qualitative approach with a conceptual study design, using content analysis and thematic coding of secondary data sources, including journal articles, Islamic investment management books, Financial Services Authority (OJK) regulations, DSN MUI fatwas relevant to the sharia capital market, and official reports and documents related to the ISSI. The analysis identifies several main themes: diversification strategies based on sector and market capitalization, cross-instrument diversification within sharia assets, and strengthened risk management through stock selection grounded in profitability, leverage, liquidity, and valuation ratios. These findings indicate that integrating portfolio diversification strategies with the appropriate use of financial ratios has the potential to enhance returns on sharia stock portfolios while keeping risk within acceptable limits, thereby offering a conceptual contribution to the development of ISSI based sharia investment strategies.

Abstract

This study systematically analyzes the digital transformation of Islamic boarding school-based Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and their role in enhancing local economic competitiveness, with a focus on digital marketing and promotion strategies. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study synthesizes findings from 14 relevant articles published between 2014 and 2025. The results show that Islamic boarding school MSMEs actively adopt digital marketing through various platforms such as social media (Facebook, Instagram, Instagram Reels, Twitter) and e-commerce to expand market reach and significantly increase sales. Islamic boarding schools are identified as a vital supporting ecosystem, providing human resources (students), alumni networks, and a unique foundation of sharia values, all of which support MSMEs economic activities. However, challenges such as lack of digital literacy, limited capital, and online market competition remain. Therefore, multi-sector collaboration (e.g., the One Pesantren One Product/OPOP program) and institutional and community involvement are key to the success of digital-based MSMEs empowerment. A conceptual visualization model presented in this study illustrates the synergistic relationship between the role of Islamic boarding schools, the development of MSMEs digital capacity, the adoption of marketing strategies, and increasing local economic competitiveness.

Abstract

The rapid growth of social media has transformed digital marketing practices through the use of influencers as promotional media capable of shaping consumer behavior, particularly among Generation Z. As active social media users, Generation Z tends to rely on influencers' recommendations when making purchasing decisions. This study aims to examine the influence of influencer popularity and influencer attractiveness on Generation Z's purchase intention through social media. A quantitative approach with an associative research design was employed. Primary data were collected through an online questionnaire distributed to 56 Generation Z respondents selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 26, including validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, partial (t-test), and simultaneous (F-test) analyses. The findings indicate that both influencer popularity and influencer attractiveness have a positive and significant effect on Generation Z's purchase intention, both partially and simultaneously. Influencer attractiveness emerged as the most dominant factor, suggesting that authenticity, personality, and communication style play a more important role in fostering consumer trust and purchase intention than popularity alone. These findings imply that businesses should consider both the credibility and attractiveness of influencers when developing effective digital marketing strategies targeting Generation Z..
