Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes systematic and authentic assessments as integral components of the learning process. An assessment is an integral part of learning process, facilitate learning and providing holistic feedback to teachers and students, enabling them to plan future learning strategies. Authentic assessment refers to evaluation methods rooted in real-world contexts and conducted during the learning process. The assessment is conducted during the learning process and teachers need to conduct authentic assessment. However, implementing such assessments in classrooms poses significant challenges for educators. This research aims to identify the needs and challenges faced by teachers and students regarding authentic assessment. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using descriptive data analysis collected through teacher and student interviews. Data was also obtained by classroom observations, and questionnaires filled by 24 students. The findings reveal that teachers lack authentic assessment instruments and often rely on multiple-choice tests, which are inadequate for measuring students’ understanding. Based on tes result with 24 students, it reveals that authentic assessment using essay questions on Microsoft Forms provided a deeper measure of students' understanding compared to multiple-choice assessments conducted on platforms like Quizizz, Kahoot, or Gimkit. The finding suggests the need for an authentic assessment instrument utilizing Microsoft Forms, integrated with digital classrooms, to effectively evaluate students' understanding, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, creativity, argumentation abilities, and decision-making competencies.

Abstract

Education is a basic right for all students, including students with special needs (PDBK). Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a learning design that can design learning so that learning can be felt by all students. In this study, the method used was an experimental method with a control group and an experimental group. Where the experimental group received learning using UDL while the control group used conventional methods. Three-factor analysis of variance with repeated measurements was used to evaluate the differences between pretest and posttest in developing lesson plans that were accessible to all students. The results showed that the implementation of UDL significantly improved learning outcomes for students in inclusive classes. In conclusion, the implementation of UDL can improve learning outcomes for students in inclusive classes, although further training is needed for teachers to optimize the implementation of UDL and cooperation from various parties is needed to be able to create an appropriate educational climate for students with special needs.

Abstract

The independent curriculum is a new policy that emphasizes differentiated learning and strengthening the Pancasila student profile. Implementation of the independent curriculum requires tutors to be prepared, especially in nonformal education with diverse student characteristics. PKBM (Community Learning Center) needs to ensure tutor readiness so that implementation is not merely administrative but also tailored to student needs. This study aims to describe tutors' readiness in managing learning, starting from understanding the concept of the independent curriculum, planning, implementation, assessment, and challenges faced in the equality program. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation. The research subjects were Package C1 tutors at PKBM Citra Ilmu. The results showed that tutors have a good basic understanding of the principles of the independent curriculum and have prepared learning plans including CP, TP, ATP, and Teaching Modules. Learning implementation is carried out according to the introduction, core, and closing stages, as well as diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments. On the other hand, the implementation of project-based and differentiated learning is still not optimal due to limited learning facilities and time. Tutor readiness at the Citra Ilmu Community Learning Center (PKBM) is considered quite good in terms of understanding and planning, but still requires ongoing support, training, and adequate facilities for optimal implementation.

Abstract

Underprivileged women in Indonesia face various challenges in developing their businesses, including limited access to education, technology, markets, and financial services. The mentoring program initiated by Bank Syariah seeks to address these challenges by positioning facilitators as strategic partners. In this context, the primary subjects of empowerment are underprivileged women striving to enhance their entrepreneurial capacity, while facilitators act as agents of change who provide guidance, motivation, and serve as bridges to knowledge and technology. The community service method employed is Participatory Action Research (PAR), with activities conducted in Boyolali Regency, Central Java. This method emphasizes the active involvement of participants from the stages of problem identification, planning, and implementation to evaluation. Mentoring activities were carried out through interviews, participatory observation, entrepreneurship workshops, hands-on practice, and joint reflection sessions. This participatory approach ensures that the real needs of underprivileged women form the foundation for designing materials, methods, and empowerment strategies. The results of the program indicate that the mentoring successfully improved participants’ entrepreneurial skills, particularly in financial management, digital promotion, and business identity development. Indicators of success were also reflected in changes in participants’ attitudes and motivation to manage their businesses independently, increased confidence in marketing products, and greater business visibility through social media. The role of facilitators, who not only delivered materials but also served as motivators, companions, and social change agents, proved to accelerate this transformation. Thus, effective mentoring requires facilitators to master public communication skills, time management, and digital technology to ensure the sustainability of underprivileged women’s business independence.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a diagnostic test instrument in the form of a two-tier multiple choice (TTMC) test based on Google Form to assess students’ understanding of prerequisite material in high school History subjects. The research employed a research and development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model. The research subjects were Grade XI History teachers and students at the senior high school level. Data were collected through literature review, interviews, expert validation, and field trials conducted on two different scales. The instrument was validated by five experts and empirically tested using the Rasch model. The results indicated that 20 test items were valid and reliable, with an Aiken’s V coefficient of 0.90 and a Cronbach’s Alpha value of 0.83 (large-scale). The item difficulty and discrimination indices showed an ideal distribution. This instrument is capable of mapping students’ prerequisite knowledge profiles in detail and offers a practical solution to support formative assessment in alignment with the Merdeka Curriculum.
