Abstract

Collaboration is one of the essential skills that students must have in the global era. With collaboration skills, students can interact in groups and take responsibility for solving problems, impacting learning outcomes. However, integrating collaboration skills in learning still challenges teachers and students. Therefore, it is necessary to pilot innovative learning media to promote collaboration skills in learning activities. This study examined the impact of using STEM-based 3D audio-visual protein synthesis kit box learning media on collaboration skills and learning outcomes. The study was conducted on SMA Negeri 1 Tanggul students, Jember Regency, East Java. The study used a pre-test and post-test control group design. The experimental class was treated using the TGT learning model with STEM learning media, while the control class applied traditional learning. This study used two types of groups, namely large groups and small groups, which aimed to determine the effect of the number of members in the group on collaboration skills. Based on the one-way ANOVA test analysis in the control and experimental classes, the research results obtained a sig < 0.05 with the hypothesis Ha rejected, which means there is a difference in collaboration skills between students in large and small groups. The one-way ANOVA test analysis results in the control and experimental classes obtained a sig < 0.05 with the hypothesis H0 rejected, which means there is a difference in student learning outcomes.        Keywords: collaboration skills, learning outcomes, team games and tournaments (TGT).DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpmipa/v25i3.pp1151-1164

Abstract

Space Debris Debate; Implementation of Socio-Scientific Issues in Science Learning to Improve Argumentation Skills. Objectives: This study aims to assess the impact of implementing science learning with a socio-scientific issue approach and debate on space debris on scientific argumentation skills. Methods: The type of research applied was a quasi-experiment using a non-equivalent control group design. In the experimental class, learning science with debate activities on space debris within the socio-scientific issue framework was applied for four lessons, while in the control class, the usual learning was carried out by the teacher. The test data was analyzed using a t-test to determine whether the treatment had an impact on argumentation skills. Findings: Implementation of science learning with a socio-scientific issue approach and debate activities on space debris had a significant impact on scientific argumentation skills. Students defend their argument from other rebuttals by showing scientific evidence and providing scientific explanations. Conclusion: Science debate about space debris in science learning with a socio-scientific issue approach can provide a dynamic learning experience, students can provide claims accompanied by scientific evidence and reasoning that connects claims with evidence. Keywords: science debate, socio-scientific issue, space debris, argumentation skills.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v14.i2.202482

Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyze the alignment of Learning Activities and Assessment Tasks in the English text book “When English Rings a Bell. This study was descriptive qualitative approach. The instrument used to collect the data is document study used in the form of checklist. Three checklists were made adopted from previous studies. The results of this study showed that the alignment of Learning Activities in the textbook achieved score 82% based on the Basic Competence Standards statements 3 and 4. Meanwhile Assessment Tasks in text book are aligned with 78% Basic Competence Standards statements 3 and 4. Then, the English textbook “When English Rings a Bell” is categorized ‘partially aligned’ with 2013. It can be concluded that textbook is suitable to be used in order to help the teaching learning process in the classroom with the help of other sources and teacher adaptation.Key Words: text book; alignment; 2013 Curriculum

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) learning model on students' creative performance in science learning. This study emphasizes the importance of improving students' abilities to realize creative ideas. In addition, this skill is needed to hone students' psychomotor abilities after the COVID-19 pandemic, which always uses online learning. The PjBL model was chosen because this approach focuses on project-based learning that is relevant to the real context, so it is expected to encourage students to think creatively. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only control group design, where two groups of students, namely the experimental class and the control class, are compared based on the final learning outcomes. The research instruments include observation, documentation, and portfolios to assess student project. The results of the t-test value (sig.) < 0.05 indicate that PjBL is effective in improving students' creative performance in science subjects.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Project-Based Learning (PjBL) terhadap creative performance siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam merealisasikan ide kreatif. Selain itu, keterampilan ini dibutuhkan untuk mengasah kemampuan psikomotorik siswa pasca pandemi COVID-19 yang selalu menggunakan pembelajaran secara online. Model PjBL dipilih karena pendekatan ini berfokus pada pembelajaran berbasis proyek yang relevan dengan konteks nyata, sehingga diharapkan mampu mendorong siswa untuk berpikir kreatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi-experiment dengan desain posttest-only control group design, di mana dua kelompok siswa, yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dikomparasikan berdasarkan hasil akhir pembelajaran. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan meliputi observasi, dokumentasi, dan portofolio untuk menilai hasil proyek siswa. Hasil yang didapat yaitu nilai (sig.) uji t-test < 0.05 menunjukkan bahwa PjBL efektif meningkatkan creative performance siswa dalam IPA.

Abstract

Abstract: Scientific argumentation skills were a process in which two or more people built and criticized several arguments. Based on the results of observed at SMP Negeri 2 Kalipuro, students' scientific argumentation skills were very lacking. One learning strategy that can overcome the challenged of lacking scientific argumentation skills was Moodle-based e-modules. The purposed of this study was to test the validity, practicality and effectiveness of Moodle-based e-modules in science learning to improve students' scientific argumentation skills. This study was a development research using the ADDIE development model with the aim of producing teaching materials in the form of Moodle-based e-modules. Data collection for this study came from questionnaires, observations, and tests. The subjects of this study were class VII F students at SMP Negeri 2 Kalipuro. The results of the validity analysis obtained a percentage of 96.66%, the practicality analysis obtained a percentage of 94%, and the effectiveness analysis obtained an N-gain value of 0.69 which was included in the moderate category and also the percentage of student responses was 83.7%. From these results, it can be concluded that Moodle-based e-modules in science learning can be said to be valid, practical and effective in improving students' scientific argumentation skills.Abstrak: Abstrak: Keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah merupakan suatu proses dimana dua orang atau lebih membangun dan mengkritisi beberapa argumen. Berdasarkan hasil observasi di SMP Negeri 2 Kalipuro, keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah siswa masih sangat kurang. Salah satu strategi pembelajaran yang dapat mengatasi kendala kurangnya keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah adalah e-modul berbasis moodle. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji validitas, praktikalitas dan efektivitas e-modul berbasis dalam pembelajaran IPA untuk meningkatkan keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE dengan tujuan menghasilkan bahan ajar berupa e-modul berbasis Moodle. Pengumpulan data penelitian ini menggunakan angket, observasi dan tes. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII F SMP Negeri 2 Kalipuro. Hasil analisis validitas memperoleh presentase sebesar 96,66%, analisis praktikalitas memperoleh presentase sebesar 94%, dan analisis efektivitas memperoleh nilai N-gain sebesar 0,69 yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang dan juga presentase respon siswa sebesar 83,7%. Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa e-modul berbasis Moodle dalam pembelajaran IPA dapat dikatakan valid, praktis dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah siswa.

Abstract

Argumentation skills are still a challenge in science learning. Teachers must develop innovative learning to promote various thinking skills, one of which is argumentation skills. This research aims to develop valid, practical, and effective modules based on the web. The type of research applied was educational development research (EDR) with the ADDIE development model. The data collection techniques and instruments include validation sheets, practicality sheets, tests, observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research sample was class VIII-B SMPN 1 Sukowono, with 26 students. The data analysis results of the validity of the modules based on the web got an average score of 85% with highly valid criteria. The results of the learning implementation analysis got an average score of 85%, which is an outstanding category from the assessment of the three observers. Product effectiveness is obtained from test results and student response questionnaire sheets. The results of the product effectiveness analysis using the N-Gain test got an average score of 0.74 in the high criteria. Students can learn in various places and situations by accessing modules and collaborating with other students and other learning resources available on the network. Abstract

The issue of plastic pollution in the Paseban Beach area has become a serious concern as plastic waste accumulation threatens marine ecosystems and environmental health. This initiative aims to design a plastic waste management system in Paseban Village, integrated as an educational tool for Dewi Masyitoh Kindergarten students. The activities involved field observations, interviews, and experiments in waste management-based learning. The results show that the plastic waste management program, involving recycling activities such as creating collages and ecobricks, successfully enhances students' knowledge and skills in waste management. The findings conclude that integrating waste management into educational activities not only strengthens environmental education for students but also provides sustainable solutions for the community in addressing plastic waste issues. These results highlight the importance of implementing similar programs in other areas to raise environmental awareness from an early age.

Abstract

Physics learning in senior high school faces challenges in developing students' scientific reasoning ability. This study aims to examine students' scientific reasoning ability through project-based learning of briquette making and its effect on improving students' critical thinking ability, especially in SMA Negeri 1 Jatiroto, to improve a more effective understanding of physics. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Jatiroto, Lumajang Regency, in semester one of the 2024/2025 scholastic year. The population of the research sample was class X students, which was determined using homogeneity test and random sampling technique or purposive sampling. The research design used Quasi Experimental with pre-test and post-test. Data collection was done through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The pre-test and post-test results showed a significant increase in the experimental class, with a higher mean post-test result (84) than the control class (50). Data analysis displayed a significant difference between the two groups, indicating that the project-based learning model had a beneficial effect on enhancing performance students' scientific reasoning skills. Thus, project-based learning in briquette making is proven to be able to encourage increased understanding of physics concepts while developing students' critical thinking skills more effectively.

Abstract

Pesatnya perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan di abad 21 menuntut siswa untuk beradaptasi dan mengikuti perkembangan tersebut. Guru pun harus mampu mengembangkan keterampilan abad 21 untuk menciptakan generasi emas melalui pendidikan yang bermutu. Para guru di Gugus Sekolah Dasar Kecamatan Srono Kabupaten Banyuwangi kurang terampil dalam mendesain, mengembangkan, dan mengimplementasikan alat peraga dan perangkat pembelajaran inovatif yang mengintegrasikan berbagai kegiatan belajar dan penilaian. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dalam mendesain alat peraga dan perangkat pembelajaran inovatif bagi guru di Gugus Sekolah Dasar Kecamatan Srono Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi tiga tahap, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu para peserta sangat tertarik dan memiliki minat yang tinggi untuk mendesain alat peraga untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran. Meningkatnya kreatifitas guru dalam menyiapkan media pembelajaran, meningkatnya pengetahuan guru tentang desain dan menggunakan alat peraga dan meningkatkan kesadaran guru untuk berinovasi dalam pembelajaran khususnya penggunaan alat peraga yang memegang peranan penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Abstract

The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia is a Republic based on law as affirmed in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia Article 1 Paragraph (3). Land issues have become a very important issue in Indonesia. An example of a criminal case in the land sector is the criminal case of occupation and theft in the PT FPIL Plantation as decided in Decision Number 94/Pid.Sus/2023/Pn Snt. This problem occurred against the background of several meetings and mediations, with no agreement/solution reached between PT FPIL and the Sumber Jaya Village Community. In the decision in question, the judge's consideration has not considered non-juridical factors such as social factors, economic factors of the perpetrator and factors of corporate responsibility towards the community in the trial facts. In the application of the law, the panel of judges at the Sengeti District Court handed down an ultra petita verdict (sentencing more than the charges) and the verdict was still too severe considering that the defendant and the community had actually made good intentions by asking PT FPIL for help, but PT FPIL did not provide assistance. During the meeting and mediation, no agreement/solution was reached between PT FPIL and the defendant and the Sumber Jaya Village Community on the issue in question. Therefore, the judge's verdict, which only imposed 1 (one) year and 6 (six) months imprisonment, is considered to still not reflect social justice for the defendant.
