Abstract

Menteng Raya Bintaro Road Section as one of the main corridors experiences similar problems with increased air pollution and noise due to transportation activities. This study aims to analyze traffic operational performance and examine the relationship between vehicle density and air quality (PM2.5) and noise level on Menteng Raya Bintaro Road Section. The research method uses a traffic performance analysis approach based on the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI), with data collection through direct observation for three day) using a time interval of 15 minutes. Measurements include vehicle volume, PM2.5 concentration, and noise levels during peak traffic hours. The results of the study show that traffic performance on Menteng Raya Bintaro Road Section is still in normal condition with the highest volume of 3,036 vehicles/hour (Tuesday afternoon 17:15–18:15), degree of saturation (DJ) 0.57 (below the threshold of 0.85), and road capacity of 5,372.97 Vcu/Hour. However, environmental quality showed unhealthy conditions with the highest PM2.5 concentration reaching 91.67 μg/m³ (exceeding the 55 μg/m³ quality standard) on Tuesday and the highest noise level of 88.33 dB(A) (exceeding the 55 dB(A) quality standard for residential areas). Correlation analysis revealed a strong positive relationship between traffic density and PM2.5 concentrations, particularly on weekdays with values of R² = 0.6143 (Tuesday) and R² = 0.5843 (Thursday), suggesting 58-61% of air quality variations were explained by traffic activity. A similar relationship was identified at the highest correlation noise level on Tuesday (R² = 0.5113).

Abstract

The increasing demand for environmentally friendly infrastructure has encouraged innovation in construction materials that can reduce carbon emissions. One of the efforts undertaken is the utilization of industrial by-products such as fly ash and Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) as partial substitutes for cement in the production of paving blocks. This study aims to investigate the effect of varying fly ash and GGBS mixtures on the compressive and flexural strength of paving blocks, as well as to determine the optimal mixture proportion that meets structural strength standards for pavement applications, particularly in heavy vehicle parking areas. The experimental method employed four mixture variations of fly ash and GGBS in a 1:1 ratio, namely 0%, 7.5%, 15%, and 25% of the cement weight. Compressive strength tests were conducted at curing ages of 7, 14, and 28 days, while flexural strength tests were performed at 28 days. The results showed that the mixture containing 85% cement, 7.5% fly ash, and 7.5% GGBS achieved the highest compressive and flexural strength values, 21.5 MPa and 4.3 MPa, respectively. These values meet the quality requirements of Grade B as specified in SNI 03-0691-1996, indicating that the paving blocks are suitable for use in heavy vehicle parking areas. The findings demonstrate that the appropriate incorporation of fly ash and GGBS not only enhances the mechanical performance of paving blocks but also contributes to reducing cement consumption and carbon emissions. Thus, this research provides a significant contribution to the development of more sustainable.

Abstract

Residential area of Jatibening Housing located in Jln. Caman Raya No. 2,Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede Subdistrict, Bekasi City. The condition of drainage in the Jatibening Permai Housing is currently not as good as a whole. This is evidenced by the flooding that still occurs when the rainy season arrives. So that the evaluation and re-planning of the drainage channel must be done by analyzing the calculation of Cross Section data and rainfall data so that the drainage channel dimensions are obtained. This is so that Jatibening Permai Housing is no longer a flood-affected area due to high rainfall. The results of the study show that the reuse period used in channel planning drainage at Jatibening Permai Housing is a 2-year return period with the Type III Log Pearson Method. The planned flood discharge was analyzed by the rational method based on rainfall intensity from the maximum daily rainfall data in the 10 year period of 212.05 mm / hour. The maximum flood discharge of the Jatibening Permai residential area is 1,650 m ^ 3 / second. While planning an infiltration pond in the form of a rectangle measuring 75 m x 55 m with a depth of 5 m can accommodate a volume of rainwater of 20,625 m3.

Abstract

The current dense population of DKI Jakarta must be balanced with the provision of adequate transportation facilities and infrastructure. The current presence of pedestrians is usually concentrated in public facilities such as terminals, shopping centers, educational centers, and other public facilities. The existence of these pedestrians requires facilities for pedestrians, including road crossing facilities such as the People's Crossing Bridge (JPO), where the JPO is installed if it is required that there is no intersection between the flow of pedestrians and the flow of traffic. So that pedestrians want to use the JPO, it must be guaranteed safety and walking distance so that it does not get too far away. For this reason, this study was carried out to determine the effectiveness of the People's Crossing Bridge in the Youth Bracelet of the North Jakarta Administration. To determine the effectiveness of the pedestrian bridge at the Youth Center of North Jakarta City, the researchers observed the number of pedestrians for 2 days, namely during peak hours such as in the morning at 06.00 - 08.00 and in the afternoon at 16.00 - 18.00. From the results of the research for 2 days in the field, it was found that almost 58% of people did not use JPO facilities, and only 42% of people used JPO facilities. Thus, it can be concluded that JPO at the Youth Center of North Jakarta City Administration is classified as a fairly effective JPO.

Abstract

Cable-stayed bridges with box girders are essential innovations in civil engineering, especially for long-span structures. These bridges, reinforced with prestressed cables and box girders, are designed to handle significant loads but remain vulnerable to aerodynamic forces, particularly wind. The vulnerability is measured using the Pb parameter, as defined by the Ministry of Public Works (2015), which helps determine the windbreak structures needed for stability. This study analyzes the aerodynamic stability of bridge decks with widths of 8 m, 13 m, and 19 m on a 420 m bridge, featuring a 220 m main span and two 100 m side spans. The results reveal that the larger the deck width-to-span ratio, the higher the structure's natural frequency, which improves stability. The natural frequency values were recorded at 0.3 Hz for a 7 m deck (3.2%), 0.43 Hz for a 12 m deck (5.48%), and 0.53 Hz for an 18 m deck (8.2%). The most stable span ratio was found with the 18 m deck, with a Pb value of 0.04, showing minimal wind load effects. Moreover, a larger deck width enhances aerodynamic stability and extends the bridge’s service life by reducing damage risk from wind loads.
