Abstract

Evaluating the performance of construction consultants is crucial to the success of a project, particularly in ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timeline.  To examine the factors influencing stakeholder satisfaction, this study combines Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) with SmartPLS-based Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM).  A poll of respondents with prior experience in building projects was used to gather data.  The findings indicate that, although the constructed structural model is reasonably solid (R² = 0.790), factors such as professionalism, communication, quality control, project management, and support have not demonstrated a significant impact on the perceived significance of the consultant’s job.  This result implies that data-driven performance improvement techniques are required to enhance consultants’ involvement in building projects. The findings of this study highlight the importance of integrating data-driven performance improvement techniques into educational programs for construction management. By emphasizing professionalism, communication, project management, and quality control, educational institutions can better prepare future construction consultants to meet stakeholder expectations and improve their contributions to building projects.

Abstract

Natural disasters in the form of floods and erosion in remote area road networks pose challenges for the government. The involvement of community-based disaster management can make it easier for stakeholders to carry out disaster mitigation intelligently. Digital technology can provide information about disaster conditions and facilitate coordination between related parties in managing floods and landslides. This research aims to explore the cultural understanding of the local community to encourage community-based involvement in optimizing road infrastructure services that have been disrupted due to floods and landslides. This qualitative research method uses data from surveys, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), and in-depth interviews. Several community leaders, non-government organizations, and the government became sources of data and discussions. The research results are divided into four main results: 1) Based on exploring the cultural understanding of the local community about disasters, the community is very concerned about road safety and accessibility. Communities in the road network area have also understood the causes of floods and landslides that can disrupt road functions; 2) Culturally, the community is accustomed to and actively involved in disaster preparedness; 3) Hereditarily, the community has been an essential part of the disaster mitigation process; 4) The community feels comfortable using social media platforms to accelerate community communication in disaster mitigation and handling.

Abstract

Every accident that occurs inevitably involves injured or deceased victims. Cross-country analysis of accident rates at curves is often the focus of comparative research to identify risk factors and possible solutions. This study aims to systematically evaluate the implications of curve geometry design on traffic performance and driving safety. Road curves, particularly those that do not meet geometric standards, are known to be significant accident-prone areas. This study was conducted using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach on 1,000 scientific articles obtained through Google Scholar using the Publish or Perish software. Analysis was conducted using VOSviewer to map keyword relationships, publication trends, and thematic classifications visually and statistically. The study results indicate that aspects such as curve radius, elevation, visibility, driver behavior, traffic signs, and environmental factors are the primary dimensions influencing curve performance. Bibliometric visualization revealed the dominance of related literature in developed countries and indicated a shift in research focus toward the use of technology and data to support safety. A conceptual framework was developed by integrating four dimensions: physical design, Environment, user behavior, and safety effectiveness. This research is expected to provide a theoretical and technical foundation for formulating safer road design standards and promoting the development of data-driven safety policies.

Abstract

Reliable and efficient public transportation is vital for urban areas like Semarang. This study evaluates the operational and service performance of Corridor 1, measures passenger satisfaction, and identifies service indicators needing improvement. Primary data were collected through field surveys and questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents. The methods used include Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI), and Quality Function Deployment (QFD), referring to national and local transportation standards. Findings show that load factors (42% morning, 37% afternoon), bus speeds (25–27 km/h), and waiting times (3.6–3.8 minutes) meet service standards, while headways (7.3–7.6 minutes) remain outside the 2–5 minute peak-hour standard. In the afternoon, only 96% of the fleet operates. Based on IPA and QFD results, seven service indicators are prioritized for improvement: dwell time, onboard cleanliness and health facilities, heat-protective window film, accessibility to stops, user willingness to recommend the service, and passenger waiting times. The implications of this research for educational management are the importance of efficient public transportation to improve accessibility and comfort for students and educators. By improving service indicators, it is expected to support smooth mobility to educational institutions, increase student participation, and support active involvement in academic activities.

Abstract

The construction of dams is part of a national strategic project that requires optimal resource management in order to improve contractor performance. This study aims to analyze the influence of various project resource factors—such as human resources, materials, equipment, implementation methods, information technology, and the environment—on the performance of contractors in dam projects in Java. The research method used is quantitative with the Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) approaches. Data collection was carried out through the distribution of questionnaires to 125 respondents who were directly involved in four dam projects, namely the Cijurey, Jragung, Cabean, and Bago Dams. The results of the analysis show that not all resource variables have a significant effect on the performance of contractors. The variables that have a significant influence both in terms of importance and performance are equipment, implementation methods, and environment, while human and material resources do not have a significant influence. These findings confirm the importance of optimizing the management of equipment and working methods as well as adjusting to the project's environmental conditions. This research makes a practical contribution in the management of multi-dam projects, especially in determining the priority scale of resource management that has an impact on improving the overall performance of contractors.
